Score from 492 reviews Wonderful
Wonderfully welcoming, relaxing and pleasant.
Thai style house, location, breakfast, dinner, owner and staff, home-like atmosphere, service.
Shower water is not hot enough. See a cockroach in the washroom. Room is not bright enough, day and night. Did not change our towels.
Lovely guesthouses, private location, delicious breakfast, friendly and helpful staff, close to center of town
Mosquitos (not easy to fix this)
Central location, peace and quiet, architecture, comfortable rooms/beds, Orn (who is the most lovely and helpful person), the breakfasts, everything.
Nothing except having to leave and say goodbye to Orn.
, it is a magic place the teem is great, the location is very good g
I liked every thing
Center of Chang Mai old city but it was so quite and calm in the neighborhood. Breakfast and dinner were delicious. It's not a true hotel so there isn't a menu, she makes one main dish and you can decide to get there or walk to another option.
The Place has a great atmosphere. The staff is extremly helpful and everything is done to make you feel comfortable. The decor is simple beautiful!
The room are gorgeous. It feels authentically Thai. The staff are very friendly and actively help you. We felt very at home here.
Large spacious traditional style "huts" Friendly staff Thai cookery course 5 minute stroll to Walking Street
A unique place with a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Staying in a traditional Thai house on a residential street with staff who were incredibly friendly brought us closer to Thai experience. I left feeling like I'd like to stay for a long time! A very special place.

The owner is real kind , the staffs as well.
Most tuk tuk can't find hotel Too dark in the room n have so many moustqitos . The confort is not there
This is a special place. On, the owner, really makes you feel at home. The hotel is small and in a quiet garden setting. Service is excellent. Although the price is high, that is offset by the delicious home-cooked Thai dinner that is included in the price. Breakfast is also very good. We stayed 6 nights and loved it.
The place was beautiful and absolutely relaxing. Breakfast was cooked outdoors daily and it was superb. The owner and staff outdid themselves in welcoming us and providing every comfort. Our plane did not leave till late in the evening and they offered to accommodate my mother who is older and was fatigued in a room with air conditioning at no charge. Something that further attested to their wonderful hospitality was also that when I commented to the owner on how lovely the cups she served breakfast in were and I asked her where I could purchase them, she told me but when the taxi didn't find them, and I was about to leave for the airport she took out of her cupboard 4 lovely cups and gifted me with her own. Everything about this stay was excellent.
We loved that our stay was hassle free, everyday the staff helped us with travel, tours, food and anything we asked for. Transfers to and from the airport out of hors - not a problem. Enjoyed our stay immensely and would highly recommend it to anyone
Great atmosphere to be in a family home. Everyone was very friendly and very helpful with information and planning day trips. The location, while slightly away from some of the sights (but still very accessible), was perfect for us - quiet, homey, and gave you a sense of true living in Chiang Mai.
Everything. It's located at a perfect area with close proximity to old town but quiet enough to feel like an authentic Thai village. Room is spacious and well-designed. The outdoor shower and bathtub are excellent. On is the best hostess. A cat was trying to get into our room.
On was a wonderful hostess!
- The host & Staff are really nice & helpful! We've got late bus after we checked out but they offered us clean towels & a shower room to take a shower before we left! - The place is purely a typical old Lanna Thai Style guest house! Everything's just so authentic with history that make you feel @ home! - The breakfast is so tasty! Love the BBQ pork & Coffee! - Welcome fruit (mango & banana) & drink are just perfect! - Many mosquitos however there are repellent lotions everywhere & racket provided so we didn't get bitten at all. - It's worth it spending the whole monring just having delicious breakfast, chatting with friends, the host or other guests in the courtyard. - Taking the 'half out door' shower is such an interesting experience that you'll never forget! - Enjoying the time inside this quiet traditional Lanna guest house is already a sight-seeing activity.
In Thailand, I often find that 5 star hotels start off as a great concept, but in reality often do not live up to their standard. At Baan Boo Loo it's the other way round: where the concept is a "bed & breakfast" the experience is truly 5 star. I love the use of recycled materials in the construction of the homes and the personalized attention by the management and staff. The setting makes it feel like you're in a small village, when you're actually in the center of the great city of Chiang Mai - very conveniently located and never further than a 100 THB tuktuk ride to any local destination. Highly recommended for any type of traveler.
Lovely staff, good breakfast.
Too 'rustic' for my liking. No TV when I like to watch movies when I'm holiday. Having to lock & unlock 12 bolts to get in/out of the room; fire risk and annoying. Nice but a little too basic for my tastes & the money.
We were after an alternative to western-style accommodation and found the perfect place in Baan Boo Loo. The natural, traditional lifestyle of the accommodation and the all-encompassing sense of tranquility was so refreshing. Orn and all her staff were extremely helpful, obliging and friendly, with their ever-present warm smiles and greetings. And the delicious choices for breakfast was the perfect start to each day.
Access to a pool would have been nice but having said that, with so many activities to enjoy we probably wouldn't have had time to enjoy one anyway.
Beautiful peaceful setting and staff were very helpful and sweet.
Unfortunately no swimming pool so very hot if in a room without air conditioning
Location is good and being a few minutes walk to the Sunday night market street. The place was clean and the owner was very nice, she even cooked us a dinner for the whole family of 5.
There were just too many Mosquitos, be prepared.
This guesthouse was beautifully crafted with each room being unique. It is very well located within the old city of Chiang Mai. The staff was very attentive and helped arrange transportation to and from the airport. I highly recommend staying here.
