Not close for the night bazaar, you always need to pay for tuk-tuk.... The villa was dirty and full of Mosquitos.
Very peaceful and quite, so close to the airport but NEVER heard a plane! Walking distance to Saturday Walking street, a real plus and highlight of our stay. Staff very helpful, great English!
Pool too deep for children who cannot swim. Would have been spectacular in its Hay Day...
This hotel has the potential to be great. The buildings/surroundings are absolutely lovely and the pool is great. The whole complex is really clean and well looked after. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the shower is really Nice and warm.
The staff really let the place down. They cannot speak any English - yet the hotel is advertised on an English website. The fact they couldn't speak English shouldn't be a problem - I have stayed in many hotels before where the staff could not speak English and yet communication has still been fine. At Rean Thai the staff do not even attempt to understand you, they stare at you blankly, ignore you, and just walk off. Leaving you very confused as to what has just happened! This happened throughout the whole duration of our stay and was very annoying. It also caused a lot of problems surrounding the free breakfast. Staff would not even acknowledge you had entered the restaurant, and suddenly they would bring out your breakfast (which varied in quantity and quality depending on how many other guests were staying in the hotel - some days it would just be a slice of bread), resulting in my vegetarian sister being given sausage on more than one occasion. The staff could then not understand that she did not want a sausage, and again, walked off without even attempting to try and converse. The hotel is also in a bad location - not really possible to walk to any nice restaurants or bars.
Rustic Traditional Lana Style Teak building around 70 or 80 years old. Its quite a large hotel and it looks like the current staff are working hard to keep the place going in the right direction. we Found the staff team would bend over backwards to rectify any small complaint. We stayed in a villa with a lovely little lounge area over looking nice gardens and the small pool which was clean. We had a lovely time. Its not perfect but they are trying to make this old place into something really special. Also a small quite bar out the front for a nice drink.
If given the option skip breakfast and eat breakfast elsewhere. Hot tea and coffee fine but you were given no choice just 2 eggs toast jam and two cheap sausages and a small glass of orange. I asked for an omelette instead of fried eggs and was told that was not possible !!! also one morning I was given Fanta orange instead of fresh which was a first for me. other than a gripe about breakfast choice no other real complaints.
location and quiet place
full of mosquitoes.worn out building. We changed 3 rooms.1st room heater on fire when on,2nd room toilet very dirty. The hotel is wooden builing. We stayed ground floor. When 1st floor guest walking we feel whole building shaking.Waste of my money. We hope booking.com.will do some survey before recommending this kind of hotels.
Everyone was great and very helpful!
Location was a tad out of the old town, but walkable, 100bhat in tuk tuk!
a lot of beautiful teak in carvings, floors, interior furnishings, paneling in main hallways. The pool was sparkling clean, beds very comfortable. Very near airport (no noise, tho) A bit away from center, therefore peacefully quiet. 100 baht tuk-tuk ride Area ok for those willing to accept Thailand street ways for lunch experience. 7-ll right across the road. Next to extraordinary temple, Wat Sri Ping Muan. worth a visit. Desk staff busy, but with patience, humor and a few kop kun ka's, overall I was treated very well. Euro breakfast not worth price, but it is on site and therefor convenient. Overall, happy experience for this 72 y/o femaile traveller. well worth the price, even at high season.
Beautiful old world teak wood hotel, almost like a temple with rooms+pool.friendly staff and good value
A little isolated with dodgy bars all around but Chiang Mai is famous for "naughty" bars and elder Europeans lurking drinking beer with deviant intent, avoid if normal
Comfortable room, staff is very nice and help me to call a taxi, also thanks for gifts. ^^
