Really quiet and relaxing , the hotel felt very "thai" which is what we were looking for. Nice location just outside town
Lots of Mosquitos - could easily be improved by regular fogging. If I was being picky it could be brilliant, with a little more attention to detail- dusty in places, loose light fitting.
My daughter and I stayed in the Opal Jacuzzi Lanna Villa. Beautifully decorated and very tranquil and peaceful setting off the beaten track from down town Chiang Mai. The pool area is lovely to lie on the loungers either in or out of the sun. Food also good. We had an hour foot massage on arrival and a two hour Thai Massage the following morning. Absolutely brilliant. Breakfast excellent choices.
We had a power failure while we were there that lasted just over an hour which meant you couldn't do anything including running a bath as the hot and cold water is controlled by power. Pool bar could do with a little more western style sandwiches.
The location, the attentiveness of the staff, and the design and cleanliness of the resort.
We were in the Jacuzzi Junior Suite and we couldn't have asked for a better room. It was quiet, secluded and the air conditioner worked well. They decorated our room since it was our honeymoon and it was a nice touch. Mr. Wat (the driver for the night market van) was so accommodating and remembered us every time we saw him. We hired him for a day and he took us to the different attractions we wanted to see for a fair pre-negotiated price.
The wireless internet didn't work most of the time in our room. The hotel location is far from old town so you have to take a 200 bht tuk tuk ride to and from the hotel if you wanted to venture out. We stayed in The Lanna room one night before we moved rooms. The Lanna rooms weren't as nice as the Jacuzzi Junior Suite. The beds were SO hard and you could hear every single noise outside when you were trying to sleep. The breakfast options were limited.
i liked the quiet resort the swimming pool
my room was a little beat sad no natural light and the manager wasn t really sympathic but all of the personnal was sympathic
Everyone are sweet and friendly, nice breakfast with lots of fruit. Nice plants around, good spa.
location is really quite far from the old city, 6 to 7km, by motobike is around 15 min. Very cold when you drive motobike in the night. So if you decide rent a motobike and stay there, better dress a warm heavy coat.
Location and cottage. Staff were very friendly. Food was very good.
Spa staff were not as efficient as would have liked
On arrival the staff were lovely and the room looked very nice.
I didn't get the villa I paid for however, they did inform me that it wasn't available before I arrived. The area smells due to what I think is the surrounding marshland at the back of the hotel but the hotel say it's a natural smell from the wood in the area but whatever it is it's musty and unpleasant. There is no wifi as stated so they offered me an Ethernet cable that would have meant I had to stay in the room to work, not by the pool. The gym is filthy, very dull and useless, there is no room service and you have to pre book dinner/ meals 24 hours before which would be fine if there was locals restaurants nearby. My 2 day stay turned into a 3 hour stay but I still had to pay for the full 2 days (I think 1 day would have been fair) and after travelling 1000's of miles from the uk they have the cheek to ask me if I left their establishment because it was too far (5k) from the city. We booked this hotel because it was out of the city!
The plants, The Thai style
The managment,..feels to high humidity in the room
Lovely hotel in beautiful and peaceful setting surrounded by tropical plants. Helpful and friendly staff.Very clean rooms with nice decor. Good food in restaurant.
The staffs are all friendly. Lanna Villa was cute, and it was great experience to stay in thai traditional villas. And the restaurant dinner was beautiful, I could have dinner by the pool side to see full moon and flying lantern, and the hotel offered me a free flying lantern. Breakfast is also wonderful. I had french toast and omlet, so many things to try. Excellent.
The location is really far, evening time there is trafic jam. The hotelier could not pick me up on time, I spent 1hour at the airport. About departure day, I booked pick up service day before, but still I have to wait for 30mins more that I supposed to go to downtown. And Lanna Villas are beautiful and great experience but there is so many bugs around bath tub. So I would not recommend that person who does not like bugs really but if you do not care about, the room is great to stay as thai traditional experience.
Staff very friendly, beautiful surroundings, nicely decorated room
A bit far from town centre
