Ban saithong Beach Resort  

We rented a Villa and arrived to find that bonfires burning around the property causing very bad air and smog. The hotel is isolated down a long drive and situated on a beautiful beach with red sand and gentle waves; its very peaceful and there only seemed to be two other guests in what is a very large but unkept site.

Where can I begin? I was charged a 3% fee for using my credit card despite comments on this site about no hidden charges. There are no umbrella's, the beach furniture was old wooden unpainted tables and chairs which cannot be moved, the sun beds are mostly ripped and in poor repair and very heavy to lift in the absence of any staff. The rolled up sun blind in front of the villa was filthy. Despite 'hopes' (we were given the password) there is was no Wifi in the villa and it was only available in the main building, which in the event was slow. There was very little soap and shampoo in the rooms and we had to request additional supplies. The towels were yellow and old. Given the isolation of the hotel there was very little to do and storms had prevented snorkling excursions so walking and reading were the main activities and there was no dvd player in the room to watch films in the evening after the restaurant closed early at 9pm. The food was adequate but the breakfasts were poor with coffee powder and hot water. The menu was very extensive with fish heavy featured but on the second night the only fish available was 'old and tough' mackerel! Overall this was a very disappointing stay particularly in view of other reviews of the hotel and it desperately needs investment to bring it up to an acceptable standard. Its very over priced at 3,200 baht for bed and breakfast per night compared to other hotels in the area and throughout Thailand were we travel regularly. This was my first 'bad' experience using this site over many years which is usually very accurate in its information and reviews; I hope this review is more extensive and accurate and provides potential guests with a greater understanding of this very poor and over priced hotel?

The staff were very pleasant and helpful They did their best to respond to our requests. We were 90 percent of the guests! Thai food was good but became monotonous after 3days The rooms were clan large and airy and looked over the pool and beach This was a large resort in natural surroundings

The isolation of the resort being about 30 miles from the main road therefore the only resource available to us this resort is suitable for those seeking peace and quiet and Thai food

Perfektes Service, sehr gute landestypische Küche, faire Preise. Sehr bemühtes Personal. Das Hotel liegt etwas abgeschieden ein Umstand der uns besonders gut gefallen hat.

บรรยากาศของสถานที่จัดแบบกลมกลืนกับธรรมชาติ วิวทิวทัศน์ชายทะเลสวยงามมีความเป็นส่วนตัวมาก เงียบสงบดี พนักงานบริการเป็นกันเอง อัธยาศัยดี ห้องพักสวย สะอาด แอร์เย็นชุ่มฉ่ำ อาหารอร่อยมาก โดยเฉพาะอาหารทะเลสดดีมากๆ

มีสุนัขของชาวบ้านเข้ามารบกวนตอนรับประทานอาหารเย็นน- ิดหน่อย( ความจริงมันก็แสนรู้และน่ารักดีครับผมเป็นเพื่อนเล่น- กับเด็กๆด้วยแต่มันอาจเข้ามาผิดเวลาไปนิดนึงครับผม)

Beautiful location at the beach. Nice quiet beach and a great swimming pool.

Difficult to reach if you do not have your own transport. You need to arrange for a transfer. Unfortunately the phone number that was on the confirmation was not correct, so we could not reach the hotel to arrange a transfer from the bus station.
