It was a bit noisy
Hotel was somewhat hard to find as not on a main street. Room had 2 floors with the bed and half bath upstairs. Upstairs bathroom had screens for windows so quite hot during the day (I called it the sauna bathroom). Room quiet. Location good as between old city and night market. Very safe to walk to both day and night. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean. Chiang Mai is a great city. Lots of amazing temples and lots to see and do. Great food everywhere.
Location and comfort of the hotel.
Staircase is a bit too steep.
spent 10 nights at Banthai Village cannot fault the staff and the location is very good I would recommend this facility to all
I felt so lucky that I chose this quiet, relaxing, friendly spot in Chiang Mai. The staff was great and the owner was ever present dressed in beautiful Thai and Burmese outfits. She was extremely helpful and constantly on the watch to welcome, assist with side trip bookings or answer questions about Thailand. The other visitors were lovely and it was a place were you could make friends or had a quiet respite on your own. There were many great places near-by for eating, drinking sightseeing or having your laundry done.. I could not have made a better choice and I definitely plan to go back!
Loved the ambience, design and decor. Small and intimate. Foyer provided excellent entrance to Banthai and it all got better. Lush green surround, easy access pool to spacious rooms. Definitely recommend. Thank you. Also staff recommend excellent quality tours and cooking school.
Having to reconnect to wifi ! Bugs / ants in eating area- sorry! Better quality toiletries. These are only trivial matters- I loved the place.
Location not ideal far away from bazaar and restaurants.Problem of getting transport and hotel dosent provide shuttle.Breakfast lousy not much choice and expensive.Extra 100 Bht is levied on 2 eggs that you odered beside what you pay for the buffet. Facilities provided considered minimal and compared to other hotels in the area I think the rate charged is excessive.Last but not least I find that the staff are not so friendly.
Staff, food, and beds.
The location was near the Night bazaar about 10 mins walk (max) and for those who loves massages, there is a clean, cheap massage place not 5 mins away from the hotel
The upstairs breakfast area whereby you have to carry food from downstairs to your table
close to nightmarket great food good pool beautiful resort
bathroom a little old compared to rest of room
I really enjoyed my stayed here, it's clean, a tranquil place to stay with cool Japanese interior. i stayed on the second floor with balcony and pool view. The hotel near to night bazaar about 10 minutes walk and some options of restaurant right next to the hotel, italian ristorante, and some local restaurant. The staff is nice and helpful and it was very nice of them to gave my father a surprise bday cake. It was lovely. I definetly will stay here again, when i go to chiang mai.
The only problem is bad wifi :(
Friendly staff and nice decoration.
However, a little bit noisy in the morning.
The overal atmosphere of the hotel is very nice and relaxing. Lovely decorations with an eye for details. Breakfast is very good, there's a lot of choice. Staff are very friendly. Perfect location: only +-400m from the city center and from the night market but very calm.
Some fresh fruit juice for breakfast would have been nice. Rooms are a little bit overpriced for thai standards.
They know that I have one daughter stay with me in same room but doesn't provide extra pillow and blanket (already charge extra fee).Upon request only provide pillow still without blanket. They can provide more helpful advise to the customer.
Fabulous hotel, lovely pool and outdoor area. Great location.
Rooms were a bit small and not a lot if storage.
I have stayed here many times and just love the whole Banthai Village experience. The location is superb...handy to everything but also quiet and relaxing.
On this visit the pillows were not great but that is not a big deal
Like and choose this hotel because of the design. Love that so much. The hotel is located in a lane but it's easy to find. And there is a nice temple right next to the hotel. Thapae gate is 5mins away by foot , and the local flower market is about 10mins away by foot.
An oasis in the heart of Chiang Mai. Easy walking distance to the Night Bazaar, and the Sunday Night Market yet tucked away from traffic.
No hot water More expensive to book transfer through motel
Really cozy hotel, good location
Room was very dark and lightning not that good. Not always people at the pool bar but guess everybody takes it easy on off season.
A bit expensive for Thai standard. It's very inconvenient when the bathroom has no wall but glass.
Location and next door to sister business which had the best restaurant Rom Po would stay at Rom Po next time.
Charged us for breaking a lousy cup which wasn't good PR. General staff pleasant although we did not eat there as they were more expensive than opposition.
During the hot season - when I stayed for two nights this hotel is a mixed bag. The staff are friendly and the pool is delightful. The two floor suites are fun - full bath is on lower floor with a half bath upstairs with the bed. There was a nice balcony, but it was too hot to use. The decor is nice - dark wood, indigo dyed fabrics, etc. You are close to the evening market and close to available public transport. The wifi is good and there is a basket of fruit for you on your arrival. Additionally there is a refrigerator and hot water pot / coffee & tea available. Would I stay here again - I'm not sure. the problems with having a cool room to return to are problematic during the hot season. In any other season I think it would be fine. I did not try the breakfast or restaurant so cannot comment.
There are no central A/C areas and the room A/C does not run without the key in a receptacle so during the day the room gets very hot and while the A/C works it is slow to cool the room. This problem could be addressed by having a fan in the room, but when asked the staff did not have a fan available. The water out of the tap smells a bit and the toilets are a bit weak in flushing - typically takes two flushes to clear the toilet. Your are surrounded by buildings and homes so the occasional dog barking might disturb your sleep.
All the staff were delightful. Very gracious. Very helpful. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished and the bathroom also. The design of the hotel is lovely - several lovely little cosy corners to sit in to relax, read or work. Altogether a lovely ambience.
I would have preferred the bathroom to offer individual shampoo and bath gel items rath than a soap/ shampoo dispenser on the wall, which is a little tacky for this type of boutique hotel. The price warrants slightly higher quality bathroom items.
