Great Desk Staff especially Sugar Cane who helped with getting Green Bus Tickets to Chiang Rai .Also Leo. Great Breakfast. Lovely Pool area.Great room and balcony overlooking pool.Hotel is close by for night market but still in a quiet location.
Nothing at al All was wonderful.
Great food and location
Only five minutes from Old Town and night market. Many good places to eat near by.
Deluxe room I had was nothing like Web site photos no balcony only terrace. Room very dark. Restaurant very expensive drinks and food three times the price of many local places.
Very helpful and competent staff, upgraded us because we did not like the rather hard beds of the standard room. Nearly all importantant places within walking distance, excellent.
Can be noisy because of some ventilation and water pumps. Small pool with limited number of beds and umbrellas.
good location; very friendly and available staff; very charming hotel, extremely relaxing atmosphere; very clean and scented; fabulous rooms, spacious and tasteful; bar/pool space very pleasant; fantastic breakfast and very diversified with the possibility to ordering directly to the kitchen; welcome drink at arrival and fruit basket waiting in the room was a delightful note.
This hotel is full of character, the staff are attentive when you need them to be and the room was great. The pool area looked lovely but we didn't get a chance to use it due to an unexpected storm! It is situated just outside the moat/old town but is an easy walk in and because it is a short distance out is much quieter. It is very close to the night bazaar, a 15min walk to the Saturday market and 5 minutes to the brilliant Sunday market!
Excellent option if you want to be close to the city centre but you are looking for a relaxing place. Personnel friendly and reliable. Superb setting.
Loved the location and staff at the hotel. A nice touch was the small basket of fruit awaiting us in our room on arrival. The rooms are also lovely, with great decor
Unfortunately the beds were very uncomfortable. Very thin mattress, so you can feel the bed boards beneath. Also very stiff pillows, so we all suffered with stiff necks. Banthai does have a village feel to it, which was nice, but it also means there was a lot of noise at night and early mornings.
Location Style of hotel and rooms
Staff was sometimes a bit complicated
The staff were amazing and helpful, always smiling. Location was excellent, close to the new and old city, minutes walk from the markets. The manager even took us to an orphanage at our request and personally drove us so we could donate medical supplies and meet the children. This was above and beyond and she is a truly wonderful woman.
The roads are a maze in chiangmai but this is not the fault of the hotel
Lovely place to stay, a real retreat from the bustle of the busy roads in Chiang Mai. Staff were very friendly and the rooms very clean. We booked a family room and were given 2 connecting rooms with separate bathrooms which was great.
The only thing that I could say was negative was the pool was very cold however we were there in December so it wasnt the hottest time of year. There wasnt much sun in the courtyard as the buildings are so tall so we didnt get much sun bathing done, however, we were so busy doing trips this didnt affect us too much but I wouldnt go here just to sit in the sun everyday.
This is very charming and clean hotel. It is quiete and is close to night bazaar and old city. I would rate this hotel about 3.5 stars.
excellent location, friendly staff, niece rooms, very good breakfast
Friendly staff and overall aesthetics are quite nice.
The rooms have walls like paper and if you're not on the top floor you can hear every step above you. Our room was small with a sliding glass toilet door didn't shut properly. You had to pull the shower curtain in front of the door to use the toilet. We made the staff aware of our disappointment with the room and the noise levels but we're told there were no other options aside from downgrading to a room next the road which would be nosier.
Hotel is fabulous! Décor tasteful, clean and in walking distance from the old town or night bazaar. Free wifi, water and fruit are available as well as other commodities (first time I saw complementary insect repellent available). Staff is helpful and detail oriented. Will stay there again!
Located in the centre of the old town, friendly staff and comfortable bed.
The music of the pool side restaurant woke me up at 7 something in the morning! And the hot water did not work out well in my room.
The style of the houses were very thai and traditional. Good location. Nice breakfast.
Excelente localizacao! Proximo do night market, sunday market, saturday market! Equipe prestativa!
Internet lenta, cai a conexao toda hora. Levem repelente! Restante mto bom!!
Location is good within walking distance to old town and night market. Hotel is quiet with great great facility and service. Will stay at the same hotel at next visit.
This hotel was one of those "wow" arrival experiences - a welcome drink, fresh fruit in the room and lots of beautiful decorative touches everywhere. Visually it certainly exceeded expectations. The hotel public areas were just delightful, with sitting areas and lush tropical plants & trees everywhere. We didn't have breakfast included but it didn't look outstanding. The pool areas were lovely but there were not enough sun lounges for the number of guests so we didn't use the pool very often. It's in a great location so we managed to walk most places due to the proximity of the night markets & Tapae gate.
My main complaint was the bed, it was too hard but this seems to be very common all over asia, I don't think they've heard of the "pillow top" yet. They did try to alleviate this with a few mattress protectors on top of the mattress but that didn't make much difference. Also the platform around the bed although it looked great was really awkward to navigate & was slippery, I got out of bed by either crawling or shuffling along on my bottom. The room curtains were also not dark enough as both the lights outside & the sun in the morning made the room quite bright.
a lovely boutique, beautiful rooms and facilities
Charming place, great job on maintaining a pleasant atmosphere, very polite & attentive staff. Great areas to socialize outside of room in an indoor/ outdoor setting. Just darling!
Not enough lounge chairs by the pool & it's best to go for a mid afternoon dip otherwise you're likely in the shade by the pool. Also the pool is closed by 9pm, just FYI
So cosy and excellence location.
Limited car parking.
Peacefull and a nice decoration, thai style.
Breakfast, tea stood boiling for hours on a hot plate. It's all for the american-taste. There is not one easy chair to sit on at breakfast, and it's served outside, a bit of a problem when it was raining.
beautiful hotel and pool Good food and drinks at pool
No insulation in rooms, loud and noisy late at night and early in morning. Front desk was very slow and often not helpful.
