Banyan Tree Bangkok  

We were travelling through from a beach holiday on Koh Samui and unfortuantely all restaurants etc. required you to dress formallywhich we didnt have with us. As such we had to leave the hotel to find some dinner in the middle of heavy rain.

The view was amazing (room 4408)! The pool area was pretty small but ok. And of cource the restaurant and the bar at the roof top.

The room smelt a lot of cigarette even it was a non-smoking room. The pool area was quite small. We had a image the this hotel was only a few years old but it was not. So we expected a little bit newer and more "design" style.

Good hôtel with very good service, nice bar on the roof with one of the greatest views over the city. Guest service was very fast and effective. You really feel the staff does everything they can to make your stay convenient.

The aircond was stopped in the afternoon of first day, fastly repaired after a call, but then stopped again on afternoon of second day. Location is ok, but now competitor hotels being near to skytrain have a real advantage.

The room has separate living and bedroom areas. The staff was accomodating to assign us a room on a higher level floor.

On the internet, it was indicated that the 'premier double category' room is > than 50 floor. However, staff informed that the highest level of this category type is only 49 floor. Also, at booking, indicated that wireless and local calls are included in room rates. But, this was misrepresented. The floor was not well vaccumed and the shower area wall tiles has mould. The initial room which I was assigned has drainage problems in the shower area. The water was unable to to drained off. Hence I had a room change. The furniture in the room need sprucing up. The breakfast range has been reduced, since the last time I had stayed, in 2005. The size of pool was disappointing.

The staff were excellent. I travel a lot and found that the friendliness amongst staff here the best.

The quiet atmosphere with beautiful music in the lobby makes this one of the nicest hotels I have had the pleasure to stay in. The staff were all very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and it was a delight to stay there - kawp kun krap.

We were given a free upgrade to the club suite

A little further away from the main areas than I would of liked, resturant prices in the hotel are too expensive.

This hotel is a bit older/depreciated. The price however was matching this matter and was not too high despite the Banyan Tree brand. While the facilities are a bit old, they are maintained and the staff as well as the breakfast was up to the standards of Banyan Tree, I.E. excellent quality. We were very happy with the value for money. Hotel is a 5 min walk away from the mrt which can take you anywhere you want in bkk which was also very convenient.

The hotel staff was great, location is good, congierge knows everything. I would stay here again, also on business.

The staff were very accommodating when we requested a change of room from City to River view due to traffic noise. Excellent breakfast choice.

Even on the 49th floor, the city view room suffered from traffic noise.
