The free breakfast sucks unless you love meat. It's definitely not a free breakfast for vegans, vegetarians or pescetarians. And its a "set" menu so you can't pick and choose, there are only 3 sets and you pick 1 of them.
The location is decent except there is no beach, just rocks and water. If you like wildlife or are used to it, then this location will be no problem for you. But I from a big city and I don't like nature. If you stay in a garden view suite, there are lots of geckos and 1 got into our room. We had to call the front desk to help us get it out. Actually at this time the front desk wouldn't answer the phone, so my friend ran out to go get a hotel staff member. The water never gets hot, only room temperature. But I don't think thats a problem with the hotel, I think it's a problem with Thailand. I even saw other hotels on this island advertising "hot water" as if that were something special. But I guess if you're from a country like Thailand, then it is something special. The internet was pretty slow, but again, I think this is a general problem in Thailand not just with this hotel.
The staff were very friendly. Not all of them spoke English but they usually had some one on duty who did speak English. The view is nice and architecture is great. The location is pretty good, not far at all from the beach, only like 10 minutes away by cab, motor bike or ATV. Its also a walkable distance but I think its too hot to walk.
