As you enter the guesthouse there is a lot of seating spaces for customers and also there was a small cafe at reasonable prices unsure how the food was as we never are here.
Rooms were terrible the toilet had a very strong awful smell and the bed sheets were not clean and we was itching all night when we slept here! One night was enough here I wouldn't recommend.
I like how Cathay Guesthouse located very near to the Hatyai Train Station (walking distance). At the ground floor, there is a travel agency and they are very helpful too.
Easy to find bus to another city in Thailand. This guest house near ti city attractions ..just 5 minutes walk
Room not clean but still okey for budget trip
Nice to stayed
Good location, near a very cool and authentic thai market.
I booked a triple room because that was all that was shown as available on booking.com and since I was arriving late, I wanted to have my accommodation secured. Upon arrival, the man at reception asked if it was just me and if then asked if he could put me in a single so that he could give my triple to 3 people who had walked in without a booking. I was completely fine with that and even though he charged me more than the price for a single posted at the front desk, it was still less than I had planned to pay for the evening. I paid in full for my room before receiving my key. The room and especially the bathroom were extremely dirty and old, but the bed seemed clean and wasn't all that uncomfortable. When I was leaving in the morning to go to the market, the lady at the front desk asked what room I was in and then told me that I hadn't paid enough. She insisted that I needed to pay the price I agreed to online when I booked. I explained that I would have been happy to pay that price if I had actually stayed in the room I booked, but since I was downgraded to a smaller room and they were able to sell the triple, it didn't seem fair to make me pay that price. She said she understood-- that it was the fault of the man who checked me in and that he would have to pay the difference. This didn't seem fair and I felt bad for the man so I offered to pay 1/2 of the difference. She got visibly upset and said it wan't enough and handed me the money back. I'm guessing that she expected me to cave and just pay the full amount, but I didn't on principle. Overall, I'm sure I've stayed in worse places, but I honestly can't think of when.
Good location easy for get street food, near with market. In central hatyai.
Terrible room but u got what u pay, its ok for budget travelling
The room was cheap but even for just one night,it was not good at all. Bathroom was so primitive you can't call it a bathroom.
near railway station
Clean, but poor toilets
nearby to shop, bank, food streets
its a shoplot n the rooms is dirty..look old dirty toilet
Bed sheet so comfort
Public area too much traveller hang around at night
Linens were full of dirt and dust. It's okay for me but my mongolian friend freaked out. You'll have to pay for wifi and the next thing you know is, its only working in the lobby :(
It was a nice stay. The guesthouse provided us with towels, extension and place for us to hang clothes aside from other facilities which comes pretty handy.
Its near the train station and you can arrange travel from their travel desk.
Everything else. Its really disgustingly dirty and full of bugs. The staff upstairs didn't speak English, seemed annoyed when I wanted to check out, and smoked through our entire interaction. They also reported to booking.com that I never showed up, which wasn't true!
Cheap place to put headdown. centrallocation close to train station and centre of town
towels too small
Never go back.
Ideal for budget backpackers, nearby with Lee Garden Plaza & a lot of muslim foods around
Dirty toilet, bad room condition. Its almost were're stayed on 1960's hotels.
Staff tried to charge us more because they had given away our reserved three-bed room and put us in a four-bed room. The place felt like it had previously been used as a mental institution and we think we might have seen a couple zombies roaming the halls... Not a great place, but it was cheap.
The common area was very welcoming and the sunlight pours through in the morning, making it very inviting.
nice place to stay for budget trip.
The staff are nice, friendly and very helpful. They taught us how to get around town in a lowest budget.
Bed bug. Bring your own padlocks.
The food was good
Some comments made to my appearance by one of the cleaners on the day I arrived. Cleaner is there to clean the place not make remarks of my appearance. I will not return to this Guest House
Two windows on the opposite sides of the room.
Holes in a ceiling, bird feathers fell into the room through them :)
