Excellent location and helpful staff. Breakfast was good value and the size of the restaurant meant that, despite having a party of eight, we never struggled for somewhere to sit down. Concierge made arrangements for transport at good rates.
The access to lifts were a constant problem. They were slow and relatively small for the size of the hotel.
Location Breakfast Size of room
Poor soundproofing between rooms, Wear and tear, old hotel. Check-out (long time - old fashion way)
Good free wifi. Ask in the reception for wifi-code.
just look at a map to see this hotel's best feature. it has an excellent location. room was spacious and comfortable. it has a good pool and health club.
room wifi doesn't work. i stayed here 5 days so i had plenty of time for observation. it just doesn't work. it's better in the lobby but still really slow. it's a 24 story hotel with only 4 elevators. you'll spend a lot of time waiting particularly if you're trying to use them when a chinese tour group arrives. breakfast was pretty awful. eggs cooked to order was the best choice which is pretty sad for an asian hotel.
Staff were mostly helpful and kind. Was able to book tours directly in the lobby area. Breakfast was good. Airport transport was convenient. Located very close to the night market.
Good location! A lot was walkable and it was in a safe neigborhood.
Wifi didn't work in the room even though you pay for it, breakfast was awful, and my room has a sewage smell in the bathroom for the entire duration.
Compulsory New Year gala dinner. While it was included in the room rate, it was not stated during my booking here on booking.com. I didnt attend and hence wasted 3000 baht as it could not be cancelled nor refunded.
New Year Eve Party It must not be compulsary! The foods are not worth 2,800 Baht, the drinks (even the first two) were not free. The hotel charge taxes for the New Year Eve Party!!!!!! How come? In fact, my Thai friends invite me to have the dinner on Dec 31.
Pool was great. Huge hotel with all facilities. Breakfast is ok, good variety but the exact same every day. It is ok for business travels but nothing to relax.
Building has become a little old. Rooms are ok but not very clean, the windows cannot be opened so that absolutely no fresh air gets into your room (some mold here and there). We have been charged for events thst we didn't book. Bad quality for such a high prize!!!
Location right by the night market also a short walk to various bars, not far from the main sights, wide range of choices at breakfast including an "eggs" station for omelette, poached or fried. Staff very helpful and very good level of spoken and understanding of English. Good sized rooms with bath and shower. Wifi available and Internet access in lobby. An enjoyable stay in a good standard of hotel. Slightly stuck in the 80's but that in no way affects the service.
Close proximity to most land marks plus access to nigh activity...visiting thr night markets.
The free wifi does not work or enable customers needs are met at all. It is good if they just tell all guest the wifi not stable n accessible...pity those with high hopes to connect with their loved ones... sighhh!!
Near to night markets, shops and halal food outlets. The mosque and muslim restaurants/communiteis are close by. Breakfast also serve Halal food although could do better with choice of food served.
The breakfasy buffet includes halal section but improve with a better variety and change of menu daily
No Free WIFI as 4 star hotel. Send the query on overcharge still no reply, the staff respond is poor
The rooms are spacious and clean, the breakfast was good and the staff were all friendly and very helpful.
Great location near to night bazaar & halal restaurant
We stayed in the executive suite and couldn't fault it. Everything was so good, staff very attentive, cleaning girl lovely. I would certainly recommend this hotel to all of my friends. Well done Duangtawan.
Only problem we had was the breakfast in the Executive Lounge was a little cold and there were no eggs but then we didn't eat until about 8.00 am. Maybe if we had eaten earlier food would have been hotter.
The location of this hotel is excellent. Very close to night market.
The housekeeping can be improved. After cleaning the room, no bath towels were replaced. Had to request towels to be sent to room....twice and after waiting for at least 30 minutes. There was something wrong with the lightings as even after changing the bulbs, immediately, the bulbs were not working. The service staff need to improve especially at the front office and the restaurant. I think this is the only place in Thailand that no one smiles albeit one of two.
Near to night market
location was good and staff friendly. room size large but fitttings and conditions old , the key slot for power connection falling off.
free wifi advertised in room but on checking in they tell you it does not work in any room or restaurants only in the lobby!!! Terrible connection everywhere in rooms not at all. rooms large but maintenance poor, no nighttime cafe open after midnight inside hotel
1.Good location... Shopping area ex. Night market, walking street Tha Pae (Sun.) 2.Wide room
Location of the hotel. Concergie was very helpful and always ready to assist. The rates were competitive.
Lousy house keeping. The room comes with 2 bottles of drinking water daily but I have to ask them 2 days out of the 4 days I was there. Dirty glasses were left uncleaned. Hotel a bit old and can do with a renovation especially the bathroom.
I would stay there again I was disappointed that safe in room never worked and wen I asked to have fixed it wasn't. Nothing was said. Also Chinese tourist smoking on level 10 stunk bad made me sick. Besides that staff were lovley and I thank them. I had a great time in Thailand. And felt safe in centara duangtwan. Thanx xxxx David Aystralia
Smoking and safe not fixed
This hotel is quite dated and old fashioned. The thing that really disappointed us was how cold the pool was. It was unbearable and we could not use it. The lifts took so long to use also which delayed us a few times leaving hotel on time for taxis etc.
The swimming pool
