Centara Duangtawan Hotel Chiang Mai  

Room rate is good, best location , shopping is best at night market and around the hotel location .

At night sleeping the bed is sliding down , must change the new bed.I Hope this hotel will have wifi , now everyone is using IPhone, mostly prefer to chose hotel with free wifi.

Good location, very close to the night market and a number of bars and resturants, however still fairly quiet. Good gym and pool.

Rooms are a little tired. Not much choice with tv channels.

It is central to pretty much everything,we stayed here last year and had a lovely time,so we thought we would stay here again.the pool is excellent and the bar just down the road the chiang mai saloon was brill the food and staff were lovely.the rooms were spaceous and the staff very friendly,the american burger on room service was also delish

Last year when we came you couldnt fault the room ,we were on floor 20and it was spotless but this year we were on floor 15 and the housekeeping was very poor,although the cleaners were lovely and very friendly.i believe this may of been because we were in a smoking room this year so I dont think they cared too much about cleaning up.

Hotel staff were friendly and polite. It seemed they understood English. I found the room, facilities, food, location, most things excellent and very good value for money. Overall my stay was most enjoyable. Breakfast was especially good with a variety of cuisine. I recommend heading for the Thaphae gate. Pizza & Vino Restaurant was especially good - authentic Italian and cheap! If you go to the Night Bazaar, turn left instead of right. It's much cheaper and better quality for the price. And don't miss the Sunday evening market - it's the best by far.

Only frustrations was I had a mouse in my room. Staff offered me a free upgrade to a suite on a much higher level, which I declined as I was checking out in two days. Also internet was very expensive and you can get it free at local coffee shops.

Location

The hotel was old and run down. They were painting trying to make it look better. You can't polish a turd. The air con, what air con, it just blew hot air in the twin beds pushed together made it feel like you were sleeping in a crack. I will never step back into this hotel. Go across the street to the Le Meridan.

good location and reasonable price. I really appreciate that they let us check out late.

fantastic location, very quiet, great facilities, staff were lovely, the bed very comfortable, room clean and spacious. good selection at breakfast, would recommend this hotel and will stay here again.

The hotel is a little tired looking and probably could do with some new carpet and furniture but it was still a great place to stay and we will come back again.

I think they should improve their elevator system to keep people from waiting 10-15mins for a lift. Also the wall is a bit thin so you can hear children/people talking loud from next room. It's annoying when it's morning. And the interior could be improved to be comfortable... Right now it's really looking oldies... Nevertheless we had a good experience staying there.
