The complete picture
The wifi in this Hotel was absolutely hopeless. Every time I came back to the room in my 6 day stay I had to log into the Wifi. Also the sygnal was so weak I could only do very limited tasks with it..
While the room wasn't real big, it did accommodate our family with 2 children (8 & 5). The breakfast was great and the pool was nice. We enjoyed the exercise gym and the hotel staff was very kind. The hotel is conveniently located next to a mall and nearby several good places to eat.
Superb location, easy access to shopping, 7eleven just opp. Getting Songthaewor Tutuk no problem.
Serving Staff not courteous and unfriendly Change of attitude next days to good when group of Police attending seminars having their breakfast at the Coffeehouse.
Location Sleep quality Some very pleasant helpful staff Very large swimming. Sitting area in executive bed room. Attractive 'Lanna' style lobby.
The hallway and bedroom carpets need cleaning. The bathrooms need updating. The pool area needs updating and renovating.
Friendliness of the restaurant staff. Pool view, also has lovely city views. Very good location on the edge of the city. Large room and sitting area in the executive rooms, .
The carpets need cleaning. The rooms are in need of an upgrade.
I stayed 3 days. I thought that the previous customer reviews that generally portrayed The Orchid as a aging hotel that was nonetheless good value to be accurate. The main reason I came to the Orchid was because of its large swimming pool. I swam laps for 30 minutes every day. The pool floor does not look clean by Western standards but this did not bother me at all.
I visited the hotel rooms before I booked a room. On the basis of that visit, and reading previous customer reviews, I requested that I not be given a room that has a door to an adjoining room because of thin walls and neighbour noise. The morning of my move-in date, I called the Orchid to make sure that I had not been given such a room; and I was told that I had not been. Yet, when I checked into my room, it had a thin adjoining door that was not even locked. That night there was a drunken group of men from a north Asian country who were screaming wildly, from around 8 to 11 PM. (However, after 11 PM they were quiet, and the following two nights the adjoining room guests were quiet.)
Location: famous building well-known by local drivers; on the main road so no problem in getting there by any songthaew. Location: Supermarket (and shopping complex) and local night market with nice and cheap food right next door - wonderful experience! Breakfast: reasonable variety of Thai (rice / rice noodle etc.) and Western style breakfast (spaghetti, mashed potato etc.), changes every day, serves from 6 - 10 am so plenty of time to enjoy. Swimming pool: had a nice morning swim when there are not many people; lights were out though so night swim not recommended.
Room security: door was left unlocked one night when coming back in the evening...2 days later slippers were gone from a locked room in the morning. Cleanliness: bed sheets were old on the day of check-in, had to change those ourselves...
Bad Alttitude, happened again on my 2nd Visit occurred during breakfast time. Careless type
Every stuffs are very kindness. It was a nice time to stay there. Thank you Masa Nagashima
Superb location next to Kad Suan Kaew Shopping
Been there two times, catering staff at cafetaria bad care less altitude
Facilities, location, restaurant
1. impolite, not sincere and not helpful 2. dirty bed sheet and pillow 3. worn mattress 4. bedroom is smelly 5. everything is either old or worn as if you were back to the past.
Limited experience as I booked in the cheaper lower floor room only, not include breakfast.
Miniscule last century TV - too small to see screen. Concierge suggested I contact Central shopping about their shuttle bus service. Who would have thought that would be up to me?- while he could not care less! Filthy scum lime around the edge of the swimming pool plus green moss in pool looked a bit off.
Large room. Silent a/c. Traffic noise nob existent. Location superb. Magestic hotel in every way, although signs of dating. Swimming pool extraordinary size. So impressed I extended my stay from 2 days to 7 days.
Free wifi in room slow at times. Breakfast expensive at 250B.
the pool is nice... rooms are big, and clean.. location is good, hotel is good in general..
breakfast.. the lobby is a bit dark, and somewhat depressing decoration.. the staff member at the concierge wasn't knowledgeable enough... staff at the reception didn't help to call a taxi, and what they offered was twice as expensive as the regular price..
rooms are good and clean tv air con. and wifi good. breakfast very good and many choices. the swimming pool is big and clean.. very good hotel just near the big commercial center lotus and only 1100bath / night. what else...???
we arrived at twelve and had to wait 2h to get the room...
the last time I stayed at this hotel was two years ago. It was a lot better than. Since then they have cut back on staff and are not keeping the facility up...looks like it must have changed owners. Will stay at Lotus Ping next time.
Close to mall easy for shopping and eating
One way road in front inconvenience for drive, have to go far for make u-turn, traffic jam on rush hour. Poor breakfast.
Location. Transportation on street in front of hotel readily available.
Have stayed there before. Older hotel. Grand in its time, but now hallways and rooms need a bit of maintenance and repair, and a lot of paint. Staff need to work on attitude and English.
Hard to access to hotel due to bad traffic during sangkran
good breakfast choices, friendly staff, airport shuttle
