This is a great place if you're looking for inexpensive, no frills lodging. It's clean and quiet plus the staff is very friendly and accommodating. They provide a community sitting space and fridge if you want to store food. There is no breakfast. It's a good deal for the money.
The internet was on and off which could be a little annoying, but otherwise great!
Homely environment and friendly owner
Initially did not want to give refund for less night stayed but eventually did.

Chiang Mai Thai Home BEWARE: The blankets may spread infectious diseases Unlike other hotels, this CMTH does not provide a white bed sheet under the blanket. The sheet comes between your body and the blanket to protect your body from directly touching the blanket that has been used by many people before you. I don’t think they wash the blanket after every guest moved out. So, although I paid for a full week stay, I moved out after a few days. No matter how cheap the hotel, it is not worth the risk getting infectious diseases through an unwashed blanket used by other people. Overall, the guest house looks spartan, unlike those in Canada or Europe. As I don’t like to wear shoes all the time in the bedroom, my feet got black as the tiled floor was not mopped. I asked the hostess and it was mopped that same day. A guest house is one where the owners/hosts live in the same building and rent out some rooms. The CMTH owners are a middle-age couple and the wife manages the CMTH. From her bedroom windows at the entrance, she could see people going in and out. Most times when I returned after going out, she would quickly come to greet me at the door, and I noticed her eyes quickly glanced at my hands to see what I was holding. First day, she asked what I bought. This reminds me of a nagging mother who watches your every move. Wifi paranoia - I have used my laptop to connect wifi in many hotels, offices, airports, restaurants, etc. All they require is a password and my laptop connects immediately. But not at CMTH. Your laptop IP address has to be reconfigured. Every guest is given a separate password and your time is logged for the hours you paid to stay in CMTH. A hotspot page shows your countdown for every second you’re logged to their wifi network. In most Chiang Mai cafes and hotel lobbies, they even have their wifi passwords posted on the counter or the walls.
