Booked last minute, and I'm so glad we did. They had staff pick us up from the airport, with water available in the van. Staff on check-in were professional and friendly and went out of the way to make us feel welcome. The pool was welcome relief to April temperatures, and the rooms were big and comfortable. On-site restaurant and service was great - but now I am craving their mango stick rice.

Surrounded by Thailand’s highest mountains, Chiang Mai is the beloved, idyllic and somewhat mystical capital of the North. With more than 300 temples, it's considered one of the most important cultural centers in the country.
Despite being Thailand's fifth-largest city, Chiang Mai still has a relaxed and laid-back feel. Modernity, trendy shops and boutique hotels haven’t altered much of its picturesque and peaceful atmosphere.
This reputation is partly due to its proximity to lush green areas, mountains like Doi Suthep, and its panoramic Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple. The Doi Inthanon National Park is 37 miles away with Thailand’s highest mountain.
Hotels in Chiang Mai’s old city center are a popular choice, with picturesque scenery featuring its moat and older temples. Chiang Mai hotels can also be found around the Chang Klhan Rd, where the famous Night Bazaar takes place.
The city’s nightlife runs along the Loi Kroh Rd, while Ratchadamneon Road hosts the main Sunday night pedestrian market. Don’t forget to buy an umbrella from Bo Sang and eat a bowl of kao soi.
Whether you arrive at Chiang Mai International Airport or come by land from Bangkok, don’t miss "The Rose of the North" deals on Booking.com!
It is a wonderful part of Thailand and great place to enjoy.
It is a wonderful part of Thailand and great place to enjoy. Just remember that to get around this city the red Ute buses are not like the blue Ute buses of Pattaya. Price for use seems to differ with the driver and they tell you when to get off. So it is safer to use Uber.

Our trip to Chiang Mai was good.
Our trip to Chiang Mai was good. Enjoyed our stay at the Kum Phaya resort. The resort was amazing and the staff were friendly.
The resort organises Cultural show and dinner which was not published in Booking.com.
We came to know about it at the reception. Had we known about it we would have booked the cultural show and dinner at our Resort, rather than travelling by taxi to the Old Chiang Mai cultural centre.
In my view this should be promoted in booking.com.
We have not completed our tour and hence unable to comment further.

Chiang Mai is one of the best city we visited in Thailand.
Chiang Mai is one of the best city we visited in Thailand. The city still holds the old culture in terms of its gates, markets, old buildings, temples and some nearby locations which are a must visit.
We visited the night markets which had so much opportunities for shop, the city is connected in a square which you can bike around as well. Stay at Buri Gallery. Visit Mae Kampong Village, see how the villagers live and survive with their means of tourism. Try to stay a night there as well. Drive to Mae Rae district for a picturesque sunsets and sunrise over the hills. If season is right you get to visit the Flower garden as well. There are numerous elephant sanctuary but visit Living Green, they are the most ethical and when we visited the elephants had freedom to do their way and felt like you are coming to their home to meet them. The Living Green Team takes good care of the elephants and make sure the guests have good experience with ample informations about all the elephants. The team is multilingual as well.
I would for my next time hire a good car for entirety of my stay so that I can travel well.
Suan Dok Gate Guesthouse is a wonderful hotel experience for the budget traveller! My partner and I spent 10 nights there and were sad to leave. Very affordable, swift room make-ups ensuring you never missed a morning coffee and water bottle, but by far the best feature of the hotel was the helpful and wonderfully friendly staff! They made us feel very comfortable indeed and were always pleased to hear of our day's adventures and ensured we were informed on all the must-visit spots of Chiang Mai
Our 5 day stay at Pingviman Hotel was marvelous! Conveniently located in the heart of the old city, the Pingviman offered us a beautifully appointed room complete with luxury king bed with spa bathtub and private balcony. Each day we'd start with a sumptuous breakfast, step out the door to explore the wonders of Chiang Mai and return to relax and unwind in the beautiful pool (one of the few heated pools in the city) and finally, fall asleep in the wonderfully comfortable bed! Highly recommended!
Beautiful building with lots of great terracotta sculptures, etc. The room was really comfortable and had a great balcony overlooking lots of trees. The staff were brilliant and helped us with trips, suggestions for eating, etc. There is street food nearby on the canal which is some of the best we have had - go to the place where they put tables where the market is during the day. Easy walking to all the main old city sights. We would certainly recommend this hotel and would stay again.
This hotel was a great choice. I stayed there for a month and felt completely safe (solo female traveler) and found the staff to be incredibly nice and considerate. The view from the roof deck is amazing. The location can't be beat, short moped ride or 10 minute walk to the old city. There is a wonderful co-working cafe called Heartwork the Sharing Space three blocks away that I used 2-3 days a week and absolutely loved. All around great place to stay.
Friendly and helpfull staff. Angunn, the owner, went above and beyond to welcome each of his guest in a genuine will to make our stay comfortable. Pick up and drop off from the hotel, discounted activities (cooking class, day trip where everyrhing's included and they pick you up). He even offered me a complimentary dinner on arrival :)
Room is spacious and clean.
The hotel is outside of the old city though so plan to use taxis or Grab !
Nice, large room with a decent entertainment set up via the smart TV. The building itself is very charming and historic, claiming to be the first private hotel in Chiang Mai. The adaptation into a modern hotel is quite cleverly done. The hotel's location is very handy as it's opposite Wat Phra Singh making it a good base for walking around the Old City. The staff were generally very friendly and accommodating.
It's a small boutique hotel.... first time for me to stay at a property like this and it was a Great experience! The rooms were great size, the bathrooms were good, the beds were good but the best thing is the staff. They have the one staff on duty but that one staff does anything and everything for you..... Both of the girls we interacted with were just amazing! Full 5 star service!
Fantastic hotel. Immaculately clean.
Rooms were modern, comfortable and A/C was excellent. Ideally located in the heart of Chiang Mai, 5 minutes walk from the night bazar and within 15 minutes walk of The Old City. There is a 7/11 below the hotel which is ideal.
The staff were fantastic- polite and super helpful. Would definitely stay again
Hotel Sensai was the best choice for my stay in Chiang Mai. The team at this hotel took such good care of their guests to a point where they would leave a little handmade gift in the room, every night of my stay.
The rooms were spacious and clean, the pool was the perfect addition and the food options were great.
Located between the walls of the old town, it's close to few iconic temples and the food market. Narrow streets between the locals traditional houses. The host is very helpful with advices and booking trips and taxi. I think it was the best choice for Chiang Mai flavors.
A very good balance quality - value.
Best place in Chiang Mai 😁 I even made a friend who works at the hotel but all staff are so kind and helping with everything you need ! Best stay I will comeback again without even blinking! Very recommended this hotel is so good !
Thanks for everything guys miss you already message to the staff!
The location was very central - the old city to be accessed as well as the night markets.
Hotel was lovely and quiet and cleaned regulary.
Breakfast had a cooked option for eggs with choice.
Bed was comfortable.
One of the best hostels I stayed. The queen size bed was definitely a plus, the location is close to the old city. The atmosphere and the staffs were amazing, great place to stay in Chiang Mai.
Beautiful view from the room, fantastic facilities, and very kind and professional staff. Definitely the best hotel in Chiang Mai, and one of the best I’ve stayed at in Thailand!
Clean and comfortable room, lovely hotel with local flair in Old Town close to temples. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, best Thai tea ever. Excellent service from all the staff.
This is the best place to stay in Chiang Mai. What a place. Beautiful garden/bush, super friendly staff, excellent breakfast, super clean. They went the extra mile(s).
beautiful hotel, located on a quiet street but still walkable to anywhere within the old city. Pool is small but good enough and our suite room was gorgeous.
