Our intended stay was in Pathuwnam, but we were misinformed of the actual loactaion...

Hotel just renovated enough while conserving the retro feel. Set back from the road, with nice balcony overlooking the pool.

Restaurant staff could have been friendlier. No kettle in the room.

It was a tad cheaper than other hotels but this was because of its location.

This is the only negative review I have writtten in our one month tour of Thailand and Cambodia. But! - this is a drab, shabby hotel in a dark, scruffy part of town. Adjacent to a busy flyover it's a long [and at night creepy, dark] walk to khaosan and the palace and taxi/tuk tuk drivers were unsure of its location. Staff were inexcusably rude - especially on arrival and demanded full payment [in advance] for the three days. Plates of food from room service scattered around the corridors and the lift. Other reviewers have sighted cockroaches and I can understand why. The bathroom was discraceful - the bath and the fittings were rusty, the mirrors streaked with grease. The pool was scruffy, breakfast was only fair. I broke a small cup in my room and was shouted at by reception and charged a cynical100 baht to replace it! Given the location why would anyone choose this hotel ? - there are so many good ones nearer Khaosan!!

We have been staying at De Moc the past 6 years whenever we are in Bangkok; we like the location, the pool, the breakfast...nice to have a balcony ; staff are friendly.

Checking out! We booked for 2 nights - but refused to stay the second night. Leaving was the best part of this hotel.

Rooms - old, dirty, broken furniture. Bathrooms had roaches crawling out of the plug hole and the toilet was disgusting!! Retro? If you call turning an old hospital into a hotel retro? The only thing retro is a collection of cars. This place is so overpriced for what you get!! This is a maximum €20 a night hotel. But even at €20 I would never stay at this rat hole again.

Buffet breakfast was good in hotel restaurant. Swimming pool area was nice. Staff were helpful. Not too much of a walk to china town and golden temple.

Woman on front desk hardly spoke any English so was difficult trying to sort anything out. Air con wasn't very cold - still sweated a lot. Could do with a renovation - but would lose its 60s appeal then.

Staff were very friendly and it was good value for money.

The rooms were dated, dark and dingy and could do with a lot of improvements. The bed wa hard. The robes in the room were tatty and full of holes, the fruit basket in the room contained mouldy fruit. It was also very difficult to get a taxi to te airport from the hotel.

This place used to be a hospital in the old days and is refurbished. Our room stank, virtually on top off the elavated part of a motor freeway, very noisy and absolutely no fresh air, the room lighting did not allow you to read a book or newspaper. Shower water did not get hot, probably because in the hospital days they worried peope would get burned or so. Personally I think Bangkok is a tip and I will never set foot in the joint again.

Hotel De Moc is a nice clean hotel. A true 1960s hotel. I love that they have a pool and that it is placed near Khaosan Rd. They have a free shuttle tuc tuc to Khaosan Rd everyday. Very nice. The staff was very helpfull and always smiling. At the poolside you can get spa treatments and massages. I had the best Facial treatment in my life. The prices are good and the quality of the treatments are also good.

The restaurant could use some improvements. The quality of the food was very low if you ordered european food. It would be nice if it had been a bit more fresh. I would go for the Thai-food, next time. I didn't try the breakfast, so I cannot comment on that.

Great position! Just 10 minutes walk from kao San but quiet and relaxed place. Great breakfast! We were there on new years eve with our 6 month old child... Clean place

The breakfast always somethings are out, the pool very dirty , some of your massagist are quite bad , the prices for other facilities of the hotel as lunch , money change , attractions order are outrageous . I would not recommend your hotel to my friends . Sorry

We booked here when it was on special deal on BOOKING and it totally worth!! The staff were veer friendly and the room was very comfortable. The swimming pool and the beer garden were great as well.

It's inconvenient to get there or from there to the city centre since it's far away from the railway/ metro stations.

Great hotel close to restaurants and night markets and the river and main tourist sites. Lovely helpful staff.

The hotel is not located near rail or sky train services so it is tuk tuk or taxi or walk if you need to move around.

Question When is a non smoking room not a non smoking room? Answer When the next door room lights up and the smoke filters into your room! The hotel claimed that the connecting door allowed the smoke in, I disagree. The alternative room was next to the lift shaft, thanks!

Services, hotel rooms, staffs are good. There is even an in house massage by pool side.

The location. Too far for walking from khao San and too near to take a transport. Most taxi don't wanna take us back to the hotel from train station. The staffs shall be more equipped with alternative transportation for us to back to the hotel.

Breakfast buffet

1. Construction noise outside on day of arrival 2. Busy highway outside window making sitting on balcony unpleasant 3. Not very welcoming or helpful receptionist 4. Used dinner stuff from another room left in corridor for more than 24 hours - in end I put stuff in lift and sent down to reception
