DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Phuket-Surin Beach  

The hotel itself was fantastic - we had a mini suite type room which was brilliant as had seperate lounge and bedroom. Kids club was really good - although slightly frustrating that all activities apart from 1 per day were chargeable and expensive (350 bath for t-shirt painting) - but staff (especially Koki) were wonderful with the kids. Pool great - slides pretty slow which was super for the smaller kids as we could let them use them without having to worry. Breakfast was the best I have had for a long while - amazing spread of thai food, continental food, american breakfasts, pastries, dimsum...pretty much everything! The only thing I was unimpressed were the amount of people taking advantage of the breakfast and smuggling tons of food out of the restaurant despite notices asking people not to.

Surin beach itself. The area was not what I would class as Thailand - more like a resort in the med. The beach I couldnt tell you if it was nice or not as was covered the whole length in sunbeds which you had to pay to use. Restaurants expensive for Thailand - basic dishes starting at 180 (for Fried Rice) and up to 250 for good dish. Seafood around 300 baht - 450 baht upwards. Nowhere to walk to - a few shops on the main road and transport from hotel really expensive. Even songthaews cost a fortune. If you want just a break based around the hotel then this is a great place. If you want to explore and use the hotel as a base for a beachy holiday then I would rent a car and get out of Surin itself. But pls note this is not a complaint about the hotel itself the hotel I have absolutley no complaints about.

Rooms were too small to house a family. Surin Beach a short walk away has been spoilt since our last visit with far too many Sun Loungers.

1.Clean, spacious rooms. 2.Lovely, secluded pool and nice, shaded areas. 3. Friendly staff.

1. Expensive kids club. 2. Buffet breakfast being nearly exactly the same every day. 3. Expensive shuttle bus to Patong for a family of 4...why is this not complimentary? 4. Rooms were a bit noisy at times...you could hear noise from other rooms clearly (like feet walking and doors shutting).

The hotel was good, the staff was nice, got a good impression of the hotel in the lobby, which also sued. Hotellet var bra, personalen var trevlig, fick ett bra intryck av hotellet i lobbyn vilket också stämmde.

Staff were accommodating, resort very nice for the price, ground floor poolside rooms ideal for families

Drinks prices were a bit high - meaning that there was no evening atmosphere at the resort itself

I booked the hotel because of the water slides and kiddy room - both turned out to be great. In addition, the hotel provided us with 4 bottles of drinking water daily which is a pleasant surprise as many others will only do so for the first day. Good breakfast spread too.

Surin beach is a little far away from patong so may not be a good choice for travelers who intend to party till late. Very little shopping but beach is much nicer than patong.

The welcome drink was good, the towel was cool and nice, the cookie was superb! The place is clean and the staff are friendly. Interesting pool shape that allows people to swim for long distance. Wide selection of food for breakfast buffet. There is a guard stationed at the entrance who helps to stop traffic so that the guests can cross the road to get to the beach.

Baby pool is too boring and the water seem dirty. The other pools have depth of 0.9m onwards, hence it may be unsuitable for babies/young children who may not be good at swimming.

Great for families.

It is a very nice and modern hotel. Family oriented and perfect location for relaxation with young kids.. White sandy beaches with crystal clear water.. Breakfast is excellent with variety of choices.. Room is clean and modern.. Poolside amenities are wonderful as my kids love the slides very very much..

The location is great, the inclusive breakfast was the best we had in Thailand. It was truely excellent. The pool, gym etc were also fantasic. If you have kids im sure this would be a perfect. Its not bad if you dont too

Although it has great facilities, location and cleanliness it did lack a thai feel in the rooms and reception areas. A good quality 'international hotel' in my opinion

An excellent kids club. Huge watersides.

The beach is across the road, but the beach club there (affiliated to the twin palms) is very good. Only one main restaurant. Doesn't feel like a resort hotel, as small footprint, rather than spread out.

Arriving there and the welcom was absolutely "typical for Thailand" overwhelming. The hotel itself getting a bit to much in tooth. Not really what you expect for a Hilton category but clean. Placed just a few meters across a park to the beautyfull beach of Surin. Bulky breakfast (even with cartoon charakter pancakes) left nothing to be desired. Nice family pool with 2 slow slides. Guess at low season a great place to relax. Thanks to the staff!

Huge construction area next to it. Not a beach hotel but you can clearly see by checking google maps. Overpriced for room and especially bathroom condition. Paint came off almost everywhere and mould at many spots. Sorry - I'm not used to this at a 4 star not even in Thailand.

Pool are is really nice, food is good and there's free wifi at the lobby, location if looking to relax, is good.

The lobby is very nice and the pool area too but te rooms were looking old, bathrooms were in bad shape! Almost like putting two different hotels together! After a heavy rain one night we came back to the hotel and there were no water coming from the tube and when we call complaining they were very rude! The location is not necessary ideal, the beach is crossing the street but there's not much to do around within walking distance, so in my opinion there's must be something not as intense as Phaton, but also not as remote as Surin. I'll recommend looking for that, Phuket is very big, so there's a lot of options

Great hotel,a short walk across the park to the excellent beach (one of the best in phuket) loads of places to eat nearby.great pool,kids club we had a family room(bedroom with very big bed)lounge and big fridge,iron and board,balcony with table two chairs we booked room for two then added our two kids for breakfast when we got there, no extra charge for their beds I would go back there because: good value for facilities etc good location friendly staff clean good facilities good breakfast selection NEW OWNER(AMERICAN ,NICE CHAP) WAS THERE AS JUST BOUGHT IT FROM MARRIOTT CHAIN SO MY REVIEW IS BASED ON STAYING IN APRIL 2012 TIPS:AIRPORT TO HOTEL ABOUT 30 MINS,TAXI 700 BAHT,900 IF LOADS OF LUGGAGE AND NEED A BIGGER ONE THEY ASK FOR 1000! CATCH CLUB MUSIC AND GOOD FOOD,HIGHER COST SUNBEDS PLA GOOD FOOD REASONABLE PRICE MED PRICE SUNBEDS TWIN BROTHERS CHEAP AND CHEERFUL,GET THEM DOWN TO ABOUT 80 BAHT FOR SUNBEDS,FOOD CHEAPER,BEER COLD! JUST REMEMBER ALWAYS HAGGLE!! AND HAVE FUN

Not much to gripe about,maybe ask for room away from kids pool if you are bothered about noise at about 8 am if you want to avoid 10% service charge on everything,buy your beer etc at the shop up the road about 100 m away

Расположение отеля, тихое, спокойное место. Рядом красивый пляж с удобным заходом в море и множеством ресторанчиков.

Большая слышимость в номере!

Все просто великолепно. Жили в двухкомнатном сьюте у бассейна. Завтраки богатые для Тайланда. Сурин прекрасный чистый пляж.

Вообще не к чему придраться. По мелочи (инфа для тех, кто любит экономить) - нет вайфая в номерах, нет бесплатного шаттла до Патонга, своего бесплатного пляжа. Ну и в целом, ценник мог бы быть дешевле))

- расположение(море через парк) - завтраки обалденные - территория чистая,зеленая и красивая - суперский детский клуб(бесплатный)по сравнению с другими отелями - близко фруктовый рынок - цена на букине за проживание была по акции,очень доступно - бассейн чистый и не очень хлорирован.

- очень завышены цены на проживание,если не по акции!!!

Великолепное месторасположение, шикарное море. Комнаты просторные, есть чайник, халаты, мини-бар.

после переименования обслуживание стало хромать, персонал как-будто делает одолжение

Die Lage am Surin Beach ist angenehm in der Nähe sind 3 Beach Clubs ( CATCH und DIAMOND sowie PLAT - Karasek Beach Club )

Ich bin nun zum 3 Mal in dieser Hotelanlage, nach dem Wechsel von Cortyard zu Doubletree hat sich absolut nicht geändert. Nicht einmal die ohnehin desolaten Beach Towels wurden getauscht, sowie auch im Sanitärenbereich wie Schimmelfugen wurden auch nicht erneuert. Dafür hat man die Anordnung des Abend Buffets zum Pool versetzt, was nichts bringt außer lange Wege mit Teller zum Sitzplatz

Шикарный отель! Если б я поехал на Пхукет еще раз - обязательно остановился б в этом отеле! Офигенный чистый пляж с критально-чистой водой. Комнаты выглядят как новые, очень уютные. В комнатах есть все что нужно. Не стоит пугаться что отель находится через дорогу от пляжа - нисколько это не минус и не мешает!

Единственный минус отеля - нет своих шезлонгов на пляже, и вообще нет своего места на берегу. Приходится пользоваться сторонними услугами. Либо располагаться на песке на бесплатных полотенцах отеля (их можно менять сколько угодно за день), либо арендовать шезлонг у сторонних 100 батт на человека.
