It is a cosy resort. The pool is nice and the staff are very good.
The rooms could be more modern and the staff need to be better trained in communication
Beautiful scenery, excellent staff and a wonderful villa. We chose the sunset villa, which gave us a breathtaking view and a spa bath too! We will recommend to others.
Good food in restaurant. Lovely, helpful people. Happy place
Location is amazing, nature also, the staff is so kind and friendly, food very tasty, rooms clean and very spacious. We couldn't swim in the sea because of the weather, so the big hotel pool was a good thing to have. I would definitely recommend and come again.
Although we did enjoy our stay so much, I must say we were quite disappointed - it was out honeymoon ( I mentioned it to them 3 times before we arrived), and no one bothered to decorate, or leave flowers or something as simple, but still a nice gesture. I think it was a big mistake on their side - it doesn't cost almost anything, but makes our stay special. When I told them about it, they acted as if I never said anything, so that wasn't nice either.
Staff were always very friendly. The beach was nice and quiet. Although there was only one restaurant, the food was always nice and they would try to accommodate any special requests. It was great to have Internet all over the hotel, functioning almost always.
Staff did not speak English, which made it difficult to communicate our needs. Gym facilities are run down. Investments in new bedroom furniture is needed. Cleanliness needs to be paid more attention
Sweeping ocean views from our room on a hill, outdoor spa tub located on our large balcony, coffee scrub & Thai massage at the on-site spa, food & service at the open air restaurant, & the beautifully landscaped grounds.
We walked to the left of the Fairhouse for approximately two miles & experienced course sand & an uneven slope leading to the sea. After a trip to Chaweng Beach with it's far superior beach we're not sure that we'd come back to Mae Nam Beach. However, our stay at the Fairhouse made up for this small negative.
View from the jacuzzi. The cocktails were amazing. Service was impeccable!
The bathroom needs to be grouted
Everybody was very friendly and helpful. Beach is superb (especially one right next to resort)!
Nice location n views
Traffic communication is hard, only few hotel shuttles schedules, or taxi is available. No other transitions. Other wise , the housekeeping is not so good, lots of muds in the bathtub
Fair House is a beautiful resort surrounded by tropical gardens set right on the beach. The pool bar and beach front restaurant were outstanding. We splurged and got one of the suites overlooking the sea with an outdoor jacuzzi, which was amazing. They also offer free snorkeling equipment and kayaks, although the weather wasn't great when we were there so we weren't able to take advantage of them. Another great perk is the free shuttle to and from Chaweng (main tourist area of Koh Samui) for shopping, restaurants, bars, etc. The breakfast was outstanding as well!
The restaurant didn't offer many vegetarian options, but they did say that they could make basically anything upon request.
The location is truly beautiful, as well as the hotel garden, pool and beach area. If you cannot decide between Lamai, Chaweng or Mae nam, go for Mae nam, especially this part of Mae nam - the other island's beaches are mostly dirty with many tourists, water scooters and fast-food stalls, although the water may from time to time be nice. The staff (at the reception, not the restaurant) is helpful. When we complained about cockroaches in our room, we immediately got upgrade and apology, which was appreciated. Also, the staff (especially the experience manager) is very helpful to explain how to get to various places at the island. The pool is very nice and the garden is be
The food is average - both dinners and breakfasts: the international food (from our experience) came from freezer and did not taste good. The Thai food though was nice and seemed fresh. The hotel is not 4+ star but rather very good 3 star (3+), considering the service quality and ambience - the staff at the restaurant was inattentive during breakfast, one had to ask twice for everything, etc. However, it was lack of professionalism, the staff was otherwise very pleasant. The premises are a bit tacky for 4 star standard - there is fungus growing at the pool bathroom, the gym is almost not functional and the rooms are old, although clean. Also, the hotel would benefit from adopting simpler style when it comes to traditional decorations, as the various imitations of ancient statues and frescos at the reception and restaurant looked cheap. However, the hotel had very nice solid teak furniture and floors. Overall, I think that adopting simpler style and not pretending to be 4+ hotel, while working on details and service quality, would help. For example, the hotel should invest in rooms to prevent insect coming inside, as there are gaps under the doors and windows. Otherwise, the hotel is very pleasant and friendly, and still a good value for money.
The room was very comfortable - we had 3 adults and 2 kids in two adjoining garden villa rooms. The pool, restaurant and beach were all within a minute's walk, which was great. The pool was great for young kids and adults - three different pools from kiddies depth to 1.5m, and able to play ball sports in all of them. Swim up bar was fun - particularly the happy hour between 12 and 1. The restaurant served a good range of food and wasn't too pricey, although it would be cheaper to eat more "locally". We liked the fact that you could borrow a bike to go to the Family Mart convenience store at the end of the road for bottled water, beers and essentials like nappies etc. or take a taxi to the Big C supermarket 10ins away for a much bigger range of food, household and other things. Even though it was June, the rain only impacted us twice during the whole week, and then only for an hour or so each time.
Constructive criticism - the free shuttles are not at great times, and fill up quickly - they should run more frequently. also, the equipment in the gym could do with an update or some repairs - maybe one sit-up bike to replace one of the two lie-back bikes? And maybe a running machine or rowing machine to replace one of the two cross trainers? lastly, it would be great if the gym was open from 6am or 7am, and not 8am, so that you could got to the gym and not have to rush your breakfast afterwards. But those are really minor points. We would recommend anyone to go to the Fairhouse Villas.
The hotel is really beautiful and green. The villas are a little bit tired but still in very good shape and lovely design. The sunsets are simply incredible! The pool/beach/restaurant area is charming and just walking around the place feels energizing. The beach itself is hardly special but we were there out of season so it's kind difficult to estimate. You can also walk out to some other hotels' beaches and it's about 20-30 min walk to either Bophut beach or Mae Nam beach. If you're after a secluded place where you just want to chill and not go out and go touristing, this is definitely a recommended place.
The location is out of the way, on a small promontory between Bophut and Mae Ham. You get free rides to the main road but from there you're on the mercy of the songthaews and the taxis. Walking to Bophut is at least 30 min on either the beach or the not very pleasant road. But if you have a vehicle this is not a problem at all. Staff is polite but not very much interested. It was out of season but the place kind of felt past its heyday, it's just a little bit worn down but make no mistake - still lovely. Probably my biggest complaint is about the ridiculous laundry prices. If you're not careful to realize that ironing makes it double on what's already an exuberantly expensive service, you may end up surprised badly. Not least because none of my clothes had their stains removed at all.
Sunset villas are absolutely amazing, huge terrace with bath tub. Good breakfast, free kayak. Rental of scooter recommended. Quiet place, very polite staff
Was there for 5 nights on our honeymoon trip. Location is a little off from the main city but view from the hotel is excellent, right by the beach - Mae Nam Beach - First 2 days we stayed in Garden Villa, was beautiful but had a few bugs around - hotel manager Ms. Aey gave us free upgrade to a room on the mountain with private Jacuzi - it was a much better room with an excellent and extra ordinary view - hotel staff will go out of the way to help you - hotel manager - Ms. Aey - a very nice lady - who will make your stay actually memorable - 15-18 mins bike ride (125 CC bike) from Cheweng Beach - 7-10 mins from Fisherman village - better rent the bike (motor bike) from the hotel - they are around 100Baht expensive from the market but they dont keep your passport as security - others in the market will ask for your passport as security - excellent swimming pool and restaurant location by the beach
centipede and lizard was spotted in the room once - frogs and lizards on way from room to the reception .. over all excellent experience thank you
Calm and relaxing ambience apart from busy area. Hotel area is beautifully designed and very clean. Facilities are not very special but comfortable enough. Overall it is value for money.
Around hotel there are quite few place for eating out and shopping. Popular tourist areas are not in walking distance. Amenities are bit poor.
Beautiful accommodation, very good value for money, nice stuff, very helpful, great choice for breakfast, I highly recommend it.
It is a bit remote for shopping areas or good restaurants so you either need taxi or a rent scooter. Otherwise, no minuses.
The staff were excellent throughout. We paid for a garden view but were in villas higher up and had the most amazing sea view.
The spa was very good but expensive compared to everything else.
Friendly and helpful staff, cleanliness, nice pool, good breakfasts and shuttle bus service to Chaweng
Beach difficult to walk on and not comparable with the beach at cheweng
Fantstic place... perfect for relaxing. The staff was descreetly present and responded with kindness to all the requests and questions. The beach was practically private and very seductive. An exotic paradise with a wonderful hotel in it. Highly recommended.
The lovely, happy, friendly staff.
Tranquil, beautiful piece of paradise. Staff excellent customer service. Would highly reccomend staying at this hotel.
Nothing negative to say.
Great location Great beach Great pool Great prices Great breakfast Midday and evening happy hours Great herb garden & grounds Great choice
The sun set is magnificent. The location is a little bit remote, but it's ok if you rent a motorcycle. The design of the garden villa is original, wood furniture. And I like the little window between the room and bathroom. The staff are nice except for one girl in the front desk. Mini bus can commute between the main gate and the lobby.
The wifi is not very stable and slow. One of the girl in the front desk is very rude. The room 204 sucks. The AC is not working, the door is out of battery, the fan in the bathroom is not working, though they fix the first two problems and change our room.
location and friendliness of staff
i had to leave
