The grass area on the river
The seats could be more comfortable and have a umbrella
Quiet and peaceful in the middle of the city. Close to the night market for food and shopping. Wondeful staff.
Shower was warm or cold. Had to reset Wi-Fi every time we left the premises or removed the key.
It was nice staying there and staff are friendly and helpful.
The location is great - just 5 minutes from the night bazaar (if you walk very slow). During the night is is relatively quiet because the guest house is located in a residential area. WIFI is okay - some websites are blocked (I do not know why - Is amazon.de considered to be immoral?).
Breakfast seems to be a little bit overpriced. The staff is very helpful if you are interested in one of their tours. If you have your own car and ask for directions they are not so friendly.
The hotel structure which is by the Ping river, and the staff who was prompt to help you out.
Everything is ok
On 3rd floor, there's no hot water, just a cold and A/C isn't cold as I want.
Everything about this guest house was fantastic. The rooms were nice and clean, the internet worked well, the staff were friendly and helpful and the balconey and yard were a great place to relax. As well as this the guest house had a restuarant attached with decently priced, amazing food, right beside the river. We didn't find the distance from Old Town an inconvience as it was only a 25 minute walk (with some amazing temples along the way!) or a 5 minute redtruck ride (which only cost 20 or 30 bhat.. which is less than 1usd). It was lovely being close to the day and night markets (both a 5 minute walk in opisite directions) and out of the main noisy area. The guest house also had a tour desk that would organise personalised tours, with a private driver for a reasonabe fee, which was really handy for avoiding things like elephant treking camps and tiger kingdoms which are shoved in with many tours, but encourage animal cruelty and are completely exploitative to animals. I would highly, highly, recommend this guest house if you are looking for a quiet place to relax by the river, with great staff, excellent service and food. We initally booked for two weeks, but ended up staying for a month and would definately go back.
The only thing that was slightly annoying were the rennovations taking place unfortunately right outside our room. This was only for a couple of days and we were there in the off peak season. Restuarant closed a little early (8pm)
Galare Guest House location is not only quiet but convenient to most places. The staff very obliging and friendly. They always greet guest with cheerfulness and smile. We feel comfortable during our stay there. We highly recommend to our friends on their visit to Chiangmai! Keep up the good work Galare GuestHouse
Nothing to complain for the price we pay.
The managers, Peter and Winnie, are lovely people who put real effort into making our stay a good one. Pen Villa is about 5 mins walk from the beach, but off the main road. The rooms are large and kept clean. The meals were really good and they were happy to adapt to or nerds and cook things we asked for.
The staff are friendly & the location is convenience
A peaceful and affordable option located just outside the old city. I was very happy with my stay here.
The location: on the bank of the Ping river, very close to the night bazaar. Open air restaurant next to the river with tasty and affordable dishes. Rooms are basic but very clean.
Sometimes,late room service.
It's located a little out of the way, which we liked. Still a very easy walk to old town (15mins) and 2min stroll to night market. It's old school in its furnishings. We found the beds very comfy and enjoyed the two english tv channels (both showing news so well up on current affairs).
Very friendly , helpful staff . All spoke fluent English and would go out of their way to help out . Kept the room and whole place spotless , very clean . Had lots of fun with the staff , made me feel very welcome . Short walk to night market , Andusan Market , good bars and restaurants . Was quiet , got good sleep . I will stay here again .
Location , small family style. Good meals
Quiet, nice gardens, good food, great location, friendly and helpful staff, very nice and quaint rooms, loved the atmosphere- will definitely go back!
Located centrally in chiang Mai. Very cheap and affordable
No staff to carry luggages to and from rooms. Restaurant closes too soon for in the evening
Cosy and comfort hotel. Value for money. Nearby night market.
Staff at restaurant not fluent in English. Food is ok only.
Room was very clean and staff were helpful and friendly!
Good value for money Room that was originally book very nice Helpful staff Lovely setting by the river and central for markets Easy to get about
Confusion over booking and did not have a twin room despite a reconfirmation. After requesting to speak to the owner we were given a tiny single room and a double room . As we were staying only for 2 nights it was a hassle having to move rooms fo the second night Kettle cups and water provided but not tea. When asked for a tea bag advised to buy them in the mini mart!
everthing well nice place and staff
No question asked. Every year we come to Chiang Mai. ONLY ONE PLACE WHERE TO STAY: GALARE GUEST HOUSE!!
