Everything was great! The location is far, there are few other resorts around and that's it. If what you're looking for is peace and quite in a perfect place with a wonderful view and facilities - I highly recommend!
Charming hide away hotel, away from the craziness of Haad Rin but only 20-30 minutes away by motorbike. Rooms are comfortable and spacious and the outside bathroom was gorgeous! Pool was lovely too. We didn't wat her as it was low season and very quiet so can't conent on that - apart from breakfast, breakfast was good!
I stayed in Green Papaya with ny husband and 5-year old son 4 nights. It's very descent, comfortable, charming, green place! The rooms are very nice, swimming pool perfect and the beach like from the postcard. The breakfasts are modest but nothing more needed. We travel a lot but both myself and my husband agree that this was the best place we have ever stayed.
Everything was just perfect!
Pool Location (direct access to great beach) Quiet Confortable
Too much light in the rooms No services in the Hotel (no phone even at reception)
We had a cottage for 4 nights. The beds were ok and comfortable enough.the balcony was very nice , spacious and nice rack to hang the wets swimming clothes.i mean you were just 20 meters from sea. The pool is very nice with lots of beds. The garden is also very nice with nice plants and flowers. Rooms are nice, but the wood work can use some renovation. Bathrooms a also nice and spacious with also a outside shower but also inside in the bath.yes it was a nice hotel to stay in.
But although the hotel is nice....the price is way to high for it.87eur per night is wayyy to steep. 65-75euro is really max! It can use renovation, the balcony chair and lounge pillow needs to be replaced and smelled like old wash when you let it in the washingmachine to long. Second is the breakfast....shame on yourself when asking that price a night! 1 thai dish only...fresh made egg by the cook was ok because she did not know how to cook an egg.when i asked to,prepare it in a way i liked , she got all stressed? The bacon was not fresh and already made.the juices...come on out of a pack?. Are you kidding me.no fresh juices?..only orange and pinnple and also lukewarm..need to do something about that. The fresh made yogurt was nice but that was the only fresh part.
very beautiful! welcomed in impeccable way. stupendous people
When we arrived at Green Papaya it really did feel like paradise; the grounds and the rooms, and position of the pool overlooking the beautiful sea is very special. Mr Wee is very helpful and friendly- you can approach him with any query. The room service was done so efficiently each morning whilst we were at breakfast and fresh towels are provided for the beach every day. We definitely plan to return.
It is quite expensive, but fine if you are treating yourselves (which we were). The location was perfect for us, as we wanted to feel isolated and we hired a moped to visit other places but if you're not confident on a bike and want to be nearer the action, you should probably stay somewhere not as beautiful like Had Rin Nok.
Great pool and lovely garden. Lots of space in resort. Big bungalows. Nice quiet spot. Good for families. Good quality beds.
A bit over priced for what they offer. Poor breakfast (and food covered in flies).
Very clean, but fairly basic bedroom with above average and very modern bathroom. Beautiful outdoor shower. Breakfast was average- just fresh fruit and toast, could ask for eggs or pancakes to be made for you though. Beautiful clean beach- we thought it was the best on the island. Staff were quite helpful and offered us an upgrade due to noisy renovations, but only after we complained and negotiated with them for nearly an hour. Beach is in a difficult spot to get to from Thong Sala jetty- about half an hour's drive and very expensive taxi fare! Quite isolated from the rest of the island, but that's what we wanted. The restaurant at the resort wasn't anything amazing, but Salad Hut and Cookies (resorts further down the beach) made up for this. Definitely a great place to visit if you just want to lie on a beach and read a book for a few days!!
The only negative was the noisy renovations (which I believe will be finished in July)... and all the mosquitos!!! Make sure you pack strong bug repellant and sun protection!!!
We stayed in the 2 bedroom villa and it was excellent. Two beautiful bedrooms with access to a private pool. So secluded and spacious. We didn't want to leave!
Building work at the hotel meant it was noisy and the breakfast selection was very limited.
Beautiful location on Salad beach. The pool and restaurant area are fantastic and with great views. The restaurant food and staff were very good.
The resort was not expecting us as they had misplaced our reservation and thus on arrival we were not treated as expected. Furthermore, despite paying extra for a seaview deluxe cottage, we were initially shown a room at the back of the resort in the garden area. The staff member tried to convince us that this was the deluxe seaview cottage, despite having no sea view. Only after protesting this, and initially being told no seaview cottage was available, were we finally shown to the seaview cottage we reserved. The cottage and the resort was lovely but it felt like we were trying to be fobbed off a little.
The hotel is beautiful. It's location is amazing, with the pool right in front of a private beach.
Too far from the action, but it's also a good thing of you don't want to be part of the Full Moon madness.
You really can't fault this resort, it is beautiful in every way. From the moment you get there to the minute you leave you will be treat like royalty. The bungalows are gorgeous, has everything you need in them and the facilities are great. The pool is fantastic looking out to sea. Everything is so peaceful. The breakfast in the panorama restaurant was wonderful and lovely food. They warned us that they were renovating when we were there but it didn't bother us too much, they have to do it sometime don't they? There isn't much to do on an evening, maybe a walk along the beach and there are a few restaurants and bars but this is exactly what we came for. Peace, relaxation, sun, sea……AMAZING!
we like the beach , but please do not waste your time and money on Green Papaya, this is not a Resorts at all ! There are better places on this beach , with better Facilities , nice rooms and friendly staff !!!
The staff was tiyed of the tourists, not friendly and not well disposed at all. there was a slops (kind of sewage) smel in the air , it was intolerable. The place is not save for the children, they have no baby chair in the "resort". DO NOT GO TO GREEN PAPAYA If you want to stay in Salad , stay in Salad Beach Resort.
Great location, near a wonderful small quiet beach. Access to a great pool and beach. Close to other small bar restaurants. Rooms are simple but all you need. Really liked this place - would recommend.
Mostly nothing, it's great. I have a short attention span I think if I was here for too long I'd get bored - not a problem if you're looking to slow down and relax for a few days.
Great spot, arguably the nicest on Haad Salad (we walked through a few of the resorts). Breakfast was delicious!
Besides breakfast, the restaurant on the resort isn't that great - however there are a number of other options very close by along the beach.
I found the staff all very friendly and the pool and gardens were absolutely beautiful. It was quiet and we had a large room. Great location away from the hustle of Had Rin and lovely beach to walk along in morning, evening or anytime. Feels and looks like paradise to me! Loved the huge shower head in the bathroom too!
There really wasn't anything I didn't like. Breakfast is a bit 'meh' but I find that in a lot of places in Thailand. The wifi didn't work for me at all. Some might find the decor in the rooms a bit dated, but didn't bother me in the least.
The est beach we have been to in Phangan. The rooms are spacious and beautifully designed, the pool is very big and water is clear :-) tons to do in the area! Wish I could stay for longer
The variety in breakfast is very lean. So you get pretty bored after one day
We originally planned to stay here for only 3 nights and then go on to Phi Phi. However, we loved the resort so much we stayed for 7. Why did we stay? Very friendly staff who were always happy to answer questions; excellent food (restaurant and breakfast buffet); a beautiful beach a stones throw from our bungalow and a lovely sense of privacy as it is only a small resort. There were also shops around the corner selling clothes, souvenirs, food & drink. What more could you ask for?
everything : the large room with balcony, the friendly staff, the location and the nice swimming pool
the resort in itself was lovely.
breakfast good be better but didn't bother me.
Lovely small hotel, very personal and cosy! The staff was fantastic and made us feel very welcome. The bungalows are not the latest design miracle but they are nice, private, clean and spacious with a lovely private terrace. Breakfast is also very good and plenty with a lovely view on the sea. The garden is just wonderful with a very large pool and deckchairs there any towards the beach. The hotel was full when we were there but it never felt crowded and there was always plenty of private space (nice change from feeling like kettle in a row in many other places on our trip). The bay is also very pleasant, as most of the coast it is touristy but still in more chilled way with little beach bars and restaurants and a calm atmosphere. We would fully recommend this lovely hotel, probably the best value for money we had on our trip.
It was all fine, just a minor thing: mosquito nets on the windows and doors would be great to enjoy the room and terrace better in the evening.
Salad beach is a really nice and beautiful small beach in Ko Phangan. Although it's small, there is more than enough to do fill up a week. Scooter rental is around the corner from the hotel. We rented a bungalow which had a lovely porch. The bathroom was magnificent.
Great location, lovely calm resort with nice staff.
Loved this hotel. Beautiful room, fantastic location, wonderful staff, great breakfast and food. Fabulous massage staff. Will definitely be back
