Hindard Resort  

The location, though not on the beach, is absolutely beautiful. There are sandy beaches very close by, with hardly anyone on them - you do need to be quite mobile, though, so I would not recommend this resort to people with young children. You can rent a scooter by the road, which will get you anywhere on the island quite quickly. The roads are mostly good, with hardly any traffic. The restaurant is okay, not brilliant but perfectly fine. It is true you do not always get what you ordered, but that's fine with me, given my inexistant level of Thai. You have to remember this island only has basic schooling, and everyone working at Hindard is a local. The lady who owns the place is really friendly, too.

Cleaning of rooms did not happen everyday. For a small hut on the beach, this is quite a nuisance, because of the sand you inevitably drag in. The airco was INCREDIBLY loud. I mean, I used earplugs, but I could still hear it. I am a light sleeper, and this caused major disturbance for me. One night when it was cooler we tried opening the screened windows and go without AC, but despite the screens, you get quite a few mosquitoes.

Nice bungalows with comfortabel bed. The girls in the staff were great.

Younger man in the staff was very disinterested. We felt like we were bothering him when we came in to the restaurant, wanted a menu, our food, drinks ect. We ended up eating at the neighboring resort, which was great! He's answer to everything, regardless what it was, was "no" He was a bit of bully to the younger girls in the staff, he got orders mixed up in the restaurant and then the girls got the blame for it. We had 7 nights booked but only stayed 5 and that was because we couldn't get a place to stay earlier on Koh Maak were we were going. When we left he came running down to the speedboat as we were getting on saying that we forgot to leave tip. As if!

The room itself was small but quite charming. Close to excellent snorkling spots.

We booked a beachside bungalow, but it wasn't on the beach at all. Wifi hardly worked at all. Staff were a little odd, perhaps communication isues.

Great location, does not have a private beach but thenorthern and southern beachesare within a 3 minute walk.

Poor restaurant service

The staff is great! The price is very low. The island is beautiful. Good snorkeling.

The view is fantastic, the massage is great. And the view while you're getting a massage is incredible. Koh Kood is simply an incredible island, well worth visiting if you like a vacation that does not include a million tourists on a commercial beach strip.

Booking the massage, or anything, is kinda hard if your Thai is bad. That said, the people who run it seem very very kind and work their butts off. Sadly, the food is not so great, and often what you order won't be what you get. A big one - there's no beach. But again, a fantastic view. And you can get to the water from the dock or the rocks very easily. You also have to be pretty brave - rent a motorbike or take the kayak out, otherwise you'll feel pretty stranded.

Room was clean with comfy bed and good air con, bathroom was basic with no style but hot water and decent loo.

Staff extremely unfriendly especially elder gent behind reception. I was aware there was no beach but there was nowhere to sun bathe at all. Within an hour we heard different people complaining about different things. Also we soon realised most guests were using neighbouring facilities ie. Beaches restaurant and bars. We stayed 1 night instead of 5 but moved to next bay along which is amazing!

The best place I've ever booked in my life! Didn't regret going here a second, we got so in love with this hotel and staff that we decided to stay one more night and hopefully come back to this wonderful place in the future. We stayed in one of the sea view bungalows and it was bliss! For what it cost I thought it would be mediocre but it was very well equipped and nice. The bathroom is partially without roof and completely covered with flowers and seashells which was awesome and made every trip pleasant and amusing. The room also has a great remote control ac for your comfort. The staff is super friendly and the owner is just terrific! I am so happy with her that I'm going to send her a Christmas card, I kid you not! She really wants you to see to all of your needs and help you in every way possible. She is also a great cook which is awesome. We hired a brand new motorbike from her and went round the island to places she recommended to us and so on. On site you can loan her kayak and snorkelling gear (free) and just jump in the sea from the pier or the beach. The place is so relaxing and cosy you feel like you're in some kind of wonderland. I would recommend Hindard resort to just about anybody who wants a calm and relaxing vacation since Koh Kood still is relatively untouched by tourism.

Don't have a single negative thing to say about this place.

Нет своего пляжа ,пляж соседнего отеля с камнями! Зато можно понырять с пирса или уехать на байке на другие пляжи!

красивый вид из номера ухоженная территория

за 4 дня никто ни разу не убрал номер , не меняли белье и полотенца, мусор выносили сами. При оплате за номер выставили сумму, большую чем при бронировании, потом прикинулись , что считать не умеют. На завтраках с трудом расставались с продуктами. Очень недружелюбные хозяева- наверное не тайцы. Отель не стоит таких денег

Очень вкусная еда и шейки в ресторане! На завтраке можно выбрать только одно блюдо, но тем не менее все очень сытно и вкусно. Красивая уединенная бухта. Бесплатно дают каяки и спасательные жилеты, можно плавать сколько угодно. Недалеко места для снорклинга. К каждому гостю здесь относятся очень внимательно и во всем стараются помочь!

Огромный недостаток, то что у отеля нет пляжа. Он находится на возвышенности,а при спуске к морю одни камни. Заход в море либо через камни, либо с пирса - сразу глубоко. Нет лежаков, нет песка. Поэтому понежится на солнышке здесь не удастся. Рядом есть красивый пляж, но пройти к нему не просто. Территория огорожена забором. Мы нашли лазейку и ходили туда, через камни и по морю. Конечно, это все совсем неудобно. И мы очень жалели, что не сняли жилье в этом резорте с красивым пляжем, тем более цена такая же. В номерах убираются только по просьбе постояльцев. Туалет с душем без крыши. Номера очень очень скромные. Гостиница для тех, кто готов жить в спартанских условиях.

Ontbijt is te simpel. Het eten uit de eigen keuken is sowieso niet van hoogstaand niveau, maar er zijn genoeg alternatieven in de buurt.

Location is not on the beach

We really enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean right outside our front doors. It was very soothing. The vibe was very laid back. You can borrow snorkeling gear and use their kayak for free, which was nice.

There is absolutely no customer service in this establishment. Someone needs to come in and teach the staff how to treat customers and give them value for their money. The owner was very disinterested in giving us what we needed (towels, toilet paper) and we were very put off by her attitude. She seemed bothered by us. The rooms were not the cleanest and this definitely affects the comfort of a place. Lights were burned out in the room which made it impossible to see much of anything at night. The bungalows (at least the one we stayed in) are way overpriced as is the restaurant. You can literally walk 1 minute away and find food and drinks 50% cheaper. We felt nickle and dimed the entire time. Also, the restaurant next door played obnoxiously loud music for 20-30 minutes most nights around 8pm. It was way too loud and you never knew when it would stop. Trying to relax was nearly impossible some nights, we just had to leave the area to get away from it. I'm sure there are other parts of Koh Kood that are much quieter. I would never stay here again.

Very friendly and generous. Good food. Fantastic seeview. Free snorkling and paddeling.

The place is not childfriendly, e.g. no beach.
