This is a wonderful way to experience authentic Bangkok. We were 3 families traveling together with teenagers and we loved that each room had a different creative theme and decor. Our view across the river to Wat Arun was magical and the sunsets behind the temple added more excitement to this wonderful location where you could watch the busy river in action! The staff and family were very helpful and their breakfasts delicious, especially the Thai breakfast if you want a break from Western traditions. The hotel is located down a small street near Wat Pho (reclining Buddha) so the location is perfect for exploring the Grand Palace too and eating a little restaurants overlooking the river, The first thing we did was walk over to Wat Pho for an incredible Thai massage at the massage school at the back of the temple. The family organized a boat to take us across the river to explore the waterways and canals where people live on the other side of the river and dropped us off at Wat Arun, we then took the ferry back home again. For some fun at night it was a quick tuk tuk drive to Khao San road where we ate delicious street food and the kids loved the shopping and music in the many bars. The family also organized airport transfers and the ferry stop for the river ferries is close by. We would definitely stay at Inn A Day again!
It was no problem for us, but there is no lift and steep stairs to climb to get to the rooms with the fabulous views.
+ great staff. Family run business and i got to have a little chat with the son and daughter which are both around my age (20-30) everybody was superfriendly and helpful >> great service + rooms were true to picture and very clean and modern >> had everything you could ask for + the beds were super comfortable the best out of all in thailand!!! + stunning view onto wat arun from the roofterasse + great area (old bangkok) walking distance to wat pho and grand palace and the river peer to cross to wat arun - only negative i could think of is that is very loud especially day time til late at night and early in the morning because its located at the river with all the boats crossing and playing music etc.. - the stairs in the hotel are very steep and narrow (not good for maybe older people) >>>>> all in all: i would def come again. I would recommend this to all my friends (though a little pricey for a student like me but def worth it!)
- only negative i could think of is that is very loud especially day time til late at night and early in the morning because its located at the river with all the boats crossing and playing music etc.. - the stairs in the hotel are very steep and narrow (not good for maybe older people)
Super-personal service. The family who run the hotel really care as the building is where they traded coconut oil/sugar for generations. The boys go to any length to make sure any question/issue you have is addressed. Somewhat optimistically, we brought our 1-year old with us, and they made sure he was comfortable, despite the area/hotel being non-baby-friendly from a Western perspective. Thanks guys!! The food is terrific too. Everything Jason from Fort Lauderdale said!
We loved it all.
The location, staff, restaurant, mezzanine, wifi and bike
View from the room
Fantastic hotel! Location, host family, design of the hotel and room, breakfast - everything was magnificent. We stayed in the family room on third floor with a private terrasse facing the river and temple of Dawn, and can truly recommend it! We will return for sure.
Friendly staff, great views, big shower.
Lack of privacy in room. Didn't feel luxurious but not cheap! Industrial look not my thing. Steep stairs. Having to preorder your breakfast night before.
Staff we're excellent, great hotel!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. The position, just in front of Wat Arun, and close to Wat Pho and Royal Palace, is the best for visiting the old Bangkok. The view from the room is really amazing!!!!
Amazing little hotel on the river with stunning views across to the temple, that is lit up every evening, it's absolutely worth booking a room with the temple view. Staff are friendly and helpful, great breakfasts with excellent coffee, we tried and sadly failed to extend our stay. I really didn't want to leave. The rooms are really quirky and fun. We loved our stay here
very friendly, helpfull and sweet people. Thank you so much to this family for making me feel confortable and like at home! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS WONDERFULL HOTEL
NOTHING AT ALL !!!
Location Bed Staff Food. Style
Don't expect a toilet in your room, shower and sink yes, not necessarily a toilet, not an issue for me though
Location is perfect: between the Chao Praya River, and Wat Pho Hotel (interior and employees) has character. Much better experience than the large hotel chains. Family who runs the place is very helpful and make you feel at home Breakfast with delicous coffee; Also for lunch and dinner the restaurant is a recommendation
Great view of river and Wat Arun temple. Helpul staff. Plenty of tuk tuk's nearby.
Steep staircase. Room was small.
We stayed there for just one night but it was enough to feel very welcome! There were no problems with earlier check-in - the room was awesome with beautiful view of the river and the temple. Main temples are very close, Khao San Road can be reached by boat or by TukTuk (approx. 60B) When you book they send you a small map to give to the driver which is also very helpful. There is a welcome drink and map so that you have no problems with travelling. The interior of the hotel is beautiful - renovated perfectly. Hotel restaurant is quite good, food is prepared at request so always is very fresh :) WiFi connection reliable and very fast. Staff is extremely helpful - they even helped us get a taxi from the street and negotiate to go with meter insetead of a fixed price :)
Nothing. Only problem might be that there is no elevator.
Everything! A true Thai experience away from the tourist trap part of town.We did the midnight food tour with Thailand food Tours the two were a fantastic combination.it is hard to find so use their directions for your taxi driver
We were only there one night!
1. Very friendly staff with willingness to assist. 2. They also speak very good English that helps a lot. 3. Great location close to Wat Po. 4. Nice vibe and creative decoration
1. No direct access to metro or train. Need to take a ferry (15 - 20mins) or a taxi.
Nice location close to the river and to all main temples. The staff is very nice; since we had to go tothe airport really early, before breakfast start, we got fresh sandwiches for on our way. Also the food is very tasty and fresh.
Italian Espresso with a Thai breakfast, the spectacular views from the roof top terrace, the friendly and competent staff
sometimes at night ships on the river made a disturbing noise, but that's the price for staying at the banks of the river
This is a must when staying in Bangkok! Directly opposite Wat Arun (do book a Room with a View... :-), minutes from Wat Pho and the Royal Palace. This family-run hotel exceeeds in friendlieness and service anything we have experienced before!! Breakfast and dining were irresistably tasty!
There are stairs and no elevator, so you should be able to manage one or two levels by foot.
everything! located one minute walk from Wat Pho and 7 minutes from the Palace. great design hotel, great room service, great cuisine - and amazing view to Wat Arun across the river. while booking a room, ask for 3rd flour and up - to enjoy the greatest view. stayed in the hotel for 3 nights and would like to thank the hotel staff for every one on them.
don't have licence to sell alcohol, but it hardly can be a problem in Bangkok -so many options to go out to have a drink.
Very nice staff, helpful and smiling, great food (delicious thai breakfast), astonishing view on the river and the wat arun. We would come back with pleasure...
We stayed there 6 nights in total and in 5 different rooms! Everything was superb!! + The family that run it make you feel like one of their members. The young guys (Golf & Tenn) are there for you 100% day and night and for every possible thing you may need. One of the few times in our life that we experienced such warm hospitality. (mum and dad are also amazingly sweet and caring, proving that speaking the language is not always needed to bond!) + The place is being refurbished with great taste and style. Could easily ask their designer/architect to make our house! Everything in the building and in the rooms have a lot of care and thought behind them. + Breathtaking views not only from most of the rooms but also at the shared top floor terrace! + Very nice breakfast (Thai & Continental) + Lunch & Dinner cooked especially for you, real time (!) making you feel that you are eating with a Thai family! So amazing!! + This place was so clean & tidy that takes the whole experience to a whole new level. + Wi-Fi available to the whole building (also fast!) + Location is perfect for sight seeing but a bit far away from the 'modern' downtown center. We have been in many places around the world and stayed to a number of different hotel of all types. Inn a day is something unique. It's something rare for our days. Way to go guys! Keep it up!
There aren't any!!! Really!! (maybe if you are a really light sleeper, you might get a bit annoyed by the river noise but then you can always go for a road view room)
The design of the hotel was interesting .. the breakfast was wonderful ... rooms were quirky unique but functional and comfortable. A family run hotel and they were excellent at looking after their guests and so helpful
Old town area away from the 'madness' of Bangkok! Spectacular views from rooms on the riverside! Room 4pm has the best bathtub ever! Staff were extremely helpful and friendly! Great coffee!
Nothing comes to mind.
lovely design and great location. family run and very good service.
