We appreciated everything in this hotel: the room, nicely decorated with a lot of style and taste, the garden full of plants and flowers, the pool which is clean and refreshing, the delicious breakfast/lunch and the staff which was very nice and helpful. Last but not least, the owners who were very friendly (they speak french). So we had a great time for relaxation here. Difficult to leave such a place..
As soon as I walked into the front door of this private hotel/inn, I felt immediately at ease. There is a unique energy to this place. Lamduan Boutique Homestay is a fresh and amazing alternative to the standard hotel or hostel. Jackie is an amazing host with incredible cooking skills. She has created a welcoming haven for tired travelers who come to Chiang Mai. You will be immediately welcomed with true Thai hospitality. During my stay here, the staff went to great lengths to make sure that my stay was comfortable and that my needs were met. I stayed in the Thai room during my stay. Believe me, I have traveled to many locations and have stayed at numerous hotels, B&B's, and hostels with varying conditions of quality. Lamduan is of the highest quality. The Thai room blew me away as soon as I stepped through the front door. The attention to detail was astounding. Every room is meticulously designed to highlight the themes of the room and to create a relaxing vibe. I immediately felt like I was living in someone's home as their honored guest. The food provided at breakfast is incredible. Home-cooked, prepared fresh, and served with as careful attention to detail as the rooms you stay in. Opted for the traditional Thai breakfast and all I can say is holy smokes!! The French breakfast option seemed to be amazing as well based on what I saw at another table. The staff here are extremely courteous, friendly, and superbly accommodating. I needed to make a motorcycle reservation in order to travel around the area and the staff took care of it so that our motorcycles were dropped off at the front gate of the inn within 30 minutes after placing a phone call. Talk about customer service. The dog, Mii (Mee?) is fun to play with and watch. Definitely added to the experience of staying at this inn. Tik - the young lady manning the front desk - is likewise extremely quick to attend to your needs and super helpful and friendly.
The inn's location on Google Maps is incorrect. If you try to find the inn, have a taxi driver or bus driver call the inn at the number provided to get directions. The inn is off the beaten path but not too far away from the nearest major road thoroughfare. I'd say it's probably a short 2 to 3 minute hop from turning off from the nearest major road. Help correct the inn's address by submitting the proper coordinates to Google Maps through their feedback button. I believe I marked the location on my phone the last time I was here. Just have to remember to submit it to Google Maps. Otherwise, I really cannot think of anything that I didn't enjoy about staying here.
a very great place, so quiet. the boss is a funny guy. he is a Frenchman.
Overall good & nice environment for relaxing and stay there.
I received bad impression when I arrived to Chiangmai airport, Jacky informed pick us when we reached CM. I also informed them our flight delay through email & call too during that day. But they not tell us that driver injured and nobody can pick us up that time.Until I called again when I reached at airport and their staff request us by taxi to Hotel. Hard to contact due to not provide the intercom if we had contact the operator. Functional of air-condition badly for Japanese style room. Jacuzzi cannot function well for Myanmar style room.
Owners & Ice - very funny The self cleaning toilet in reception - give it a go The dog!!
Lam was the best host, we had stayed there for 4 days and was very helpful to us; Room themes are fabulous and well maintained
Miss Lam attended to our every need. Organised fantastic driver. Food and hospitality was outstanding.
Bit far from town but tuk tuk price was cheap.
very nice hotel with clean swimming pool, room has different style that guests can choose. owner has a very cute dog eating everything even eat flowers. not many people live in make me feel peaceful. many flowers in the hotel. good hotel to live in for holiday
location is not good, far away from old city, red car did not want to go, if no motorcycle, have to take tuktuk.
Jacky Icy Lam all are nice，excellent service French breakfast is worthy for try The room is comfortable and very clean Perfect！！！
Really enjoy staying in Lamduan Boutique. Lam & Jacky have a very beautiful house, they want to share it with other travelers, so they make it a Homestay. It is just lucky that we chose to stay in their Home. There are plenty of nice things: - Jacky & Lam are very very kind people, I got some inspirations from them. - The stuffs in the house are all kind.It is incredible to see they make full cleaning of the house twice a day. The house is so beautiful and so clear. - The swimming pool is very clean, and I can go into the swimming pool just 5 steps out of my room. - The Spa in the room is also awesome, I enjoy it everyday. - We got the best breakfast, not just the food, also because Jacky's cooking style is full with love and happiness. - The house is quiet and we got very good sleep every night. We will come and visit Jacky & Lam and Ice again.
The staffs are perfectly helpful, the owners are very nice. We are gonna miss that place. We love Mi~~~~
The shower head was not very useful.....
homestay was fantastic, i spend whole day stay here, throwing myself in the pool and enjoy their food -- OMG. Ice picked us at the airport, she is very very sweet during the four days. hostness is a warm and beatiful lady with great taste. I like being there.
The rooms were lovely - we saw 4 of the five rooms and we thought the Japanese room was the best by far. Located at the bottom so easy access, and the nicest interior. In the Thai room, the bathroom was lovely but the bedroom seemed abit congested. The Oliver style room was really nice, but the metal spiral staircase was offputting, especially if you will be walking up it at night. Breakfast was nice and you sat at the dinner table in the main part of the homestay. Jacky sometimes cooked something special for us which was nice. Jacky was quite funny and made us laugh. Lam was also quite friendly when we arrived. Their staff were very nice and friendly, although grasp of English was very limited!
Location Location Location. The location caused 2 problems - having to call a cab and then wait 20 mins, and having to pay silly prices for the cab without really having an alternative. Also, the area has greenery which means more mosquitoes. Damn mosquitoes. Owners also tried to encourage us to book tours/activities through them, and gave us inflated prices for the cabs. Haggle for yourself, and trust your own judgement when it comes to tours. We were glad we ignored them. Overpriced laundry. They charged about 15-20thb per item of clothing which seemed abit much. There was a time when Lam thought we were asking if there was anywhere else we could get laundry done when really I was asking about donating clothes, and she got quite stern, as she also did when you didnt want to book anything with her. Seemed shady to me.
The hotel is amazing. The rooms are a deligh. They are themed bed very luxurious. We stayed in the Japanese themed room bed our daughter had the Thai room. There are 5 themes in the hotel. Really, it's like staying in a B&B but worlds apart. Lam and Jacky are brilliant hosts. You are made to feel as a part of their family and they will go out if their way to look after you, even down to acting as a tour guide in their own vehicle. I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. An added bonus is that Jacky is a Frenchman and a chef. The French breakfast is heaven on a plate. Do yourself a favour and visit.
Heaven inside Chiang Mai. A peaceful, quiet and beautiful place surrounded by a tropical garden, a pool, and very confortable and spacious rooms. We stayed 4 nights and would have stayed longer if we could. Staff was perfect, always there for any questions or inquiries! Should go eyes closed!
Nothing to say! All perfect!
Staff are nice and warm, view is good and because I said we just married and for honeymoon, so they really think about how to give us a unforgetable experiences, very nice arrangement for the room, helpful with all the information and very good stay with the hotel.
Quiet Very Clean.
General atmosphere was very good and the staff always pleasant and very helpful
A little off the beaten track would have been excellent if location slightly better but using tuk tuk was easy enough to get to proper shopping facilities.
It's the best guesthouse I 've ever seen!! The room I lived is a Swiss style room, every corner of the room is so damn great.Chow and Jacky is so damn great too.
We were nicely surprise when we got into our room. The suite was unbelievable - very comfortable and spacious. Hosts were friendly and chatty and their tiny dog was amazing. We enjoyed the pool and breakfast on the balcony. Staff was helpful too.
The place is a bit outside the city and it takes about 40min walking to get to the centre and about 20min by tuk tuk (or longer cause not many of them know where the place is). Also, the Night Bazar mentioned in the ad is not the famous big bazar but the local one that is also worth visiting.
Room is characterful and comfort with a beautiful garden.
It's unpleasant for me to stay here, even only 1 night. 1.Bad location, driver costs 2 hrs to find this place and force us to pay 400B for the taxi fee even we fix the price before!!! 2.No air-con in hall, so it's extremely hot and can't stay even 1 minute. 3.Not treated well as expected. 4.Bad network connection. 5.Nowhere to have a dinner, we walked 15 minutes then found 7-11 to buy fast food to eat eventually. Never came back.
Awesome room, tastefully and exquisitely designed in Thai style. Room was actually more like a small apartment with a separate bedroom, beautiful terrace on which to enjoy breakfast and drinks. Super friendly atmosphere of the hotel, only 5 rooms which share a common good size swimming pool. The hotel gave us a free lift to the airport on our last day. The owners are friendly, charming and welcoming. They even treated us to free drinks while waiting for a tuk-tuk one night. Very clean! We will certainly come back. We wholeheartedly recommend this hotel!
It is not in the center of Chiang Mai, that is what we wanted but for some people it may be a problem.
This very charming hotel offers a place of pleasure to a best value price. I can highly recommend it to everyone. For me its's close to a 5 star.
Beautiful small place a bit outside of the whirling old city life, beautifully decorated and styled by ist swiss-thai owners, super friendly personnel, lovely room
Google gives the wrong location of Lamduan Homestay (and uses the old name 'jackyshow', but it helps to search for 'Boutique Hotel Chiang Mai') at its Internet map, but Lam, the owner, promised to try to change that immediately.
It is a very relax & comfortable place, like the fact that, there's only a few rooms, so not crowd. The staff is very helpful and efficient.
