-View from the restaurant
- dirty sheets, twice! - everything they advertised was just in that moment not available - ants in the watercooker - very remote place - very expensive for very little value
The layout of resort was magnificent and well planned. Many nice sculptures and wandering walkways with a beautiful backdrop of the ocean. Staff were great, food decent, room superb. I would definitely go there again. Maybe book the family room and bring a bunch of friends. Off season rate good.
Lot's of steps but provided good exercise. If handicapped or elderly be able to handle lots of stairs. I am a senior (63) with a bad hip but just took our time and we were fine. What's the hurry anyway. In season rates might be too high for us.
great hotel! nice staff amazing view from the rooms
a lot of stairs
The view and location is magical.
Bit far out of town!
Wonderful staff, delightful resort nestled in the rock face with stunning vistas of the sea. I unfortunately got sun burned by the pool so siding get to try the spa which looked very welcoming. Food served was good and a decent variety of local and western dishes.
Only reason I gave this a good instead of excellent location was that it's a bit remote and slightly difficult to get to and would be quite a difficult and long trek to walk to the hubs for restaurants / exploring etc. not too bad if you rent a quad. Navigating around the resort can be a problem if you're bad with stairs as it's set on a steep incline. My wife and I are hardly fit but we managed ok.
ocean view from our room sparkling wine for breakfast
no private beach, we had to walked or take a boat (with confirmation at what time we wanted to go back to the hotel )to get the beach of the other resort, no beds, no restroom for Jamahkiri quests on the beach; far everywhere
Location, Spa, Riff snorkelling, view and food was excellent
I can't recommend this resort though we really enjoyed our stay. But choosing a remote resort like this it's all about trust. We rented a camera to take photos during my son's fun diving. Her took a lot of gorgeous photos of mantas and sharks. They burned them on dvd or so they said. We couldn't watch the dvd on our player, so I asked the receptionist to check it. He told me, the dvd would be fine, simply the player couldn't show photos. Back home we could see for sure: The dvd is simply empty; no souvenir of our stay 8000 baht for nothing. We tried to contact the resort regarding a refund or new dvd, but any mail was ignored. So they don't care obviously.
Excellent location Friendly personell Good service reasonable prices for food and drinks
Great rooms and views, nice pool open late.
Pool has no privacy, bang visible to entrance. Restaurant staff were not attentive enough, had to wait many moments to catch their eye...slow service.
Our whole stay was fantastic! The staff, location and courtesy was incredible
Stairs ... But worth it for the view! I also went to get a manicure in the spa as advertised but when I got there I was informed they had stopped doing them.
This is a beautifully designed small resort nestled in the rocky hill by the Shark Bay. It doesn't have much of a beach but made up for it with a stone walk and platform decked with beach chairs that gives directly to the best snorkeling spot. We saw so many kinds of fish and even a shark. The rooms are smartly designed so that you feel connected to the beautiful nature while maintaining your privacy.
The climb up the stairs but that's the geographic reality of this place. Breakfast recipes need to improve. To get to town, you will need to jump in the shuttle provided 3 times daily or hire a taxi which can be slow and expensive.
View was incredible and the beach access with snorkeling was a real highlight. Pool was lovely Staff were very friendly and helpful. The man who ran the snorkeling hut and boat trips was exemplary
The food menu was quite limited and overpriced for what was on offer. The BBQ restaurant shut down as it was off season which was disappointing. There were a lot of steps to and from our room which we were not aware about. The shuttle into town went at very inconvenient times.
The room is well maintain, nice small balcony facing the sea. Nice environment, beautiful landscape and well design outdoor area.
The location is abit far off from the town, have to either take their shuffle service to the town which is only 3 time a day, and the last shuffle service end at 6pm. Taking a cab back for two is about 400 to 500 baht. it will take probably about 1 hr to 1 hr 30 min to walk to the town, the last one km to the resort is very hilly road with no lights. The beach next to the resort was always low tide and make swimming impossible due to the many corals at the seabed. have to travel to either jamson bay or Ao leuk bay . Ao Leuk bay water is calm and clear with many different fishes at both side of the beach where the corals are. highly recommend
We spent four days in this hotel in the end of April. We lived in the bungalow. Note that all bungalows in the hotel are situated on the hill, but not on the shore. The room was large and very comfortable. There was a large balcony with a perfect sea-view. Only the main restaurant worked due to the low season, but it was quite good (but expensive). Both thai and western food were very testy. The waiters were the best on the island, the service in the restaurant was just perfect. Also, it has a stunning view on the lagoon. The dive center was also good (but expensive). They has a larger boat which can server about 10 divers, but usually there were not more than 2 people. Two times I was alone on the boat, except an instructor and crew. It was cool. There is a nice sport room. The pool is clean and deep. The SPA was good (too expansive to visit everyday, but worth to visit at least once).
Everything (room, restaurant, dive, SPA) is 2x or 3x overpraised. For example, thai-massage in the SPA is about 800thb, but in the city it is only 300thb. I understand that I have to overpay for luxury, but not 3x price. There is no WiFi in the room, only in the restaurant/reception and near the pool. But even there it is very slow. Don't be mislead by the pictures of the lagoon. It is shallow and the corals are mostly crushed. You need to swim a long way left to find something interesting. But, to be honest, even on the crushed corrals we saw a lot of small fishes, large schools of feeding fished and even a small shark.
Beautiful resort. We didn't leave once because it had everything we could want. Amazing snorkelling right off the beach.
The dive shed staff weren't very friendly.
The pool is excellent!! Their location in Shark Bay provides the opportunities of seeing sharks even just in snorkeling! They are not right by the beach but they have shuttle boat to transport to so it's not a problem.
Views are absolutely superb, Pool is amazing, bbq ocean restaurant really romantic. Awesome for snorkelling. Nice to getaway form the hustle and bustle of Saree beach.
- The views from the resort and the hotel rooms are amazing! - The private scuba excursions are fantastic (though pricey!)
- Our hotel room was supposed to have a shower, according to our booking, but it did not. If you prefer baths over showers, this place is for you. If you want a stand-up shower, book elsewhere. - Hotel management was very rude and failed to resolve the issue with our room not having a shower. - The cleaning staff did a poor job of cleaning our room. There was broken glass on our balcony for the extent of our stay (despite us notifying reception). - There are LOTS of steps. Be prepared for a workout. - Once you're at the resort, you're almost stuck there. The roads to/from the hotel are so treacherous that it's hard to find cabs to take you back to the hotel. - The reservation indicated that it came with an "American breakfast". There were eggs, bacon, and toast, but that's the extent of the things that were "American".
Sea view, comfort
No beach, high price in restraints, far from town.
Everything was great, beautiful place, great snorkeling, swimming, relaxing. Breakfast very good.
Only 1 option of vegetarian food on the menu.
Very nice hotel. It has its own unique architectural style, somewhat a fusion of Mediterranean and Oriental style inspired by Gaudi. It might not be well suited for a family with many kids or people with disabilities as the hotel is on the slope of the cliff with the labyrinth of stairs up and down, unless they stay at pavilion accommodations. We stayed in the suites which had private entrance. diving and snorkeling facilities are well equipped. Rooms are very nicely decorated (but somewhat limited storage space for the clothes and stuff). Views are great from any of the accommodations.
Staff and management. It was first time in my experience of staying at the hotels and resorts where I see that some of the senior staff members and their families and friend are spending time at the resort as guests!) does not add much to perception of professional behavior. The service staff is more focused on pleasing the "wives and their girlfriends", and entertaining their children. It is not a big resort and it becomes very obvious. There are exceptions though: Aom (not sure if I spelled it right) - a lady at the reception was very nice and professional, as well as Derek, a manager of the dive center. My compliments to their work and efforts!
the English level of the staff should be improve~!
Pool and sea view are wonderful.
I sent an email to hotel for honey moon arrangement and they responded me that it needed to be charged for 1500B.Then i directly comfirmed this in that email. The problem was，when two weeks later，i arrived to Jamahkiri to check in，i surprised to know that honey moon arrangement wasn't setted and the reception staff even didn't know it at all！ So me and my wife were told to wait at the lobby for them fixed up for a long time.
