I loved the staff and how friendly and helpful they were! The location was pretty good.

Don't even choose the fan-room during the summer. In the winter, that's ok.

The thing that makes this place is the amazing service!! Was made to feel like part of the family by the staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. They even went out of there way to book us plane tickets and organise all our excursions. Would definetly recommend this place to anyone and will be returning again any time we're in chiang mai :)

Junior House is amazing. I felt like I was at home during my stay. The staff (TaTa, Chai, Jeff) are all very friendly and helpful-actually really amazing people. They will help you plan your stay in Chiang Mai (touristy and non-touristy attractions) and even give advice on the best way to travel elsewhere in Thailand. They will help you plan based on your interests and budget rather than convincing you to buy overpriced tours. The accommodations were non 5 star but comfortable and clean. The food was not exceptional but it was good. Great location-most things are within walking distance (including bars, restaurants, cheap massages). I would definitely stay here again. Junior House has an amazing and positive vibe! Don't miss out!

Tata and Jeff are truly great hosts, greeting you with a smiley 'welcome home' when you arrive to check in! Rooms are basic, clean and comfy and you can have some chill out time in the roof top jacuzzi which is nice and cool and a welcome reprieve from the heat. Great location near the north gate. Jeff and Tata will help you out with any transport/tour/travel bookings and answer you any quirky questions. If you are looking for budget friendly guesthouse accommodation in Chiang Mai, hang out a Junior House, no frills just a warm welcome and smiles all round, located down a small soi close to everything Chiang Mai has to offer!

We stayed here twice during our travels around Northern Thailand. The staff are excellent, can't do enough to help you, always remember your names and very knowledgeable on the area and good advice on what to do and see (and not get ripped off). Wifi connection was very good, cable TV had some good movie channels which was welcomed after months of travelling. Breakfast was excellent.

Bathrooms are a bit dated but functional and clean so not really a problem. Rooms are only cleaned if requested so if you want it cleaned or new towels etc make sure you ask. Again not really a complaint just a FYI

I visit Chiang Mai very often and always stay in Junior house though can afford more expensive accommodation. I love the place for it's homely atmosphere - whenever you come back to Junior house, you always feel like you've come back home. Interior is very simple, but it is always super clean and cosy. The owners Jeff and Fae and their stuff can help even with the most complicated requests. Ask them advise on what to do in the city - they will have some good suggestions. The location is superb - the guesthouse is situated amidst the cosiest streets - you can check out the real local life just walking along. It is very convenient to get around the city from here. There are a few good places to eat not far from here, together with big tourist attractions, e.g. Walking street, Tapae gate et c. The food Junior house offers is not bad at all. I love their omelettes for breakfast, though not a big fan of white breads toasts. Really recommend to stay here to everyone - backpackers on budget, families, couples, single travellers. You will definitely feel like home here.

I think the mattresses in some of the rooms could be newer, together with some pillows. That's pretty much it.

    Nice staff, good food...

Not regarding the conditions in the hotel...please don't go elephant riding, the guides are really awful and treat elephants badly. Since the elephants don't really want to walk to much they get hit with a stick and poked with a hook. At least get some info first...
