The highlight of Junior House was the 'service with a smile' - I felt like part of the family. Also found 'JH' was great for booking trips etc - good advice with efficent service.
The hard pillows - but Im probably just a softy :)
very helpful staff and banana pancakes for brakfast were great, everything was great
The staff was excellent (always smiling). The location is also great, walking distance to restaurants, main attractions, stores, etc. It is possible to book activities directly at the hotel.
the staff was really helpful and the location is great!
Staff couldn't be better, lovely welcome, remembered our names and instantly treated us like friends. Went through our map on the first day marking the best Wats to visit, as well as personal favourite resturants and coffee houses. Recommended a perfect elephant experience and booked for us, as well as organising a red taxi and a Tuk Tuk for us when needed. We rented scooters from them for 24 hours and felt they were very well looked after and fairly priced! Including specific directions and advice on where we wanted to go. Food was also very good, much above average for the price. Recommend the banana pancakes for breakfast and you must try some chiang mai noodles. Another bonus is the fresh cold water jacuzzi with rooftop views, lovely! Basic rooms with all you need for a great visit to chiang mai. We stayed 5 nights then had to come back for 2 because nowhere else would have compared! Big 5 stars, big recommend.
Nothing. Couldn't have been better, thanks to everyone that made it so special
Friendly Staff, Breaky expensiv (120 Bath)
They should try to get ride of the Mossies.
You got what you pay, wifi, clean room, okay for 1-2 nights sleep
Fan room its hot
Although the street view is unprepossessing, this house is really quite nice and relaxing, family run and pretty casual. There is a wide balcony the rooms are off upstairs, but a fairly crummy view. Decent value for money, location is ok for exploring the city (a must , Chiangmai is a nice surprise) but hard to find as up a lane off the main river road. Taxis are cheap.
The place is well ubicated and the staff is very kind, specially Tata, who is always willing to help guests in any matter. The place is clean and bedrooms too, although ours smelt a little bit to humidity.
Our bedroom smelt a little bit to humidity (as every other place we stayed in thailand), so you get used to it.
- Very very very competent, helpful, good english speaking and friendly staff - the position of junior house is absolutely central - its near to temples and you can reach a lot of hotsponts per foot or per tuktuk for less money - you can rent a roller for 200 baht for 24 h! - good breakfast
I loved the staff and how friendly and helpful they were! The location was pretty good.
Don't even choose the fan-room during the summer. In the winter, that's ok.
I have been travelling through southeastasia for a while now and the junior house was the best guesthouse! I loved my stay. The staff is lovely and really helpfull, the rooms are clean and you really feel like home! Thanks junior house
- Customer service - Location - Vietnamese food - Computer access - Tours
The thing that makes this place is the amazing service!! Was made to feel like part of the family by the staff and nothing was too much trouble for them. They even went out of there way to book us plane tickets and organise all our excursions. Would definetly recommend this place to anyone and will be returning again any time we're in chiang mai :)
Hard bed, poor condition facilities like bathroom, lighting. Can find much better deals just down the street
Nice place, friendly staff, convenient location.
Great location. Friendly staff.
Cheap, a bit like the room
Staff were brilliant, so friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to get information, book tickets and make everyone feel welcome.
There isn't anything that we didn't like
Junior House is amazing. I felt like I was at home during my stay. The staff (TaTa, Chai, Jeff) are all very friendly and helpful-actually really amazing people. They will help you plan your stay in Chiang Mai (touristy and non-touristy attractions) and even give advice on the best way to travel elsewhere in Thailand. They will help you plan based on your interests and budget rather than convincing you to buy overpriced tours. The accommodations were non 5 star but comfortable and clean. The food was not exceptional but it was good. Great location-most things are within walking distance (including bars, restaurants, cheap massages). I would definitely stay here again. Junior House has an amazing and positive vibe! Don't miss out!
Tata and Jeff are truly great hosts, greeting you with a smiley 'welcome home' when you arrive to check in! Rooms are basic, clean and comfy and you can have some chill out time in the roof top jacuzzi which is nice and cool and a welcome reprieve from the heat. Great location near the north gate. Jeff and Tata will help you out with any transport/tour/travel bookings and answer you any quirky questions. If you are looking for budget friendly guesthouse accommodation in Chiang Mai, hang out a Junior House, no frills just a warm welcome and smiles all round, located down a small soi close to everything Chiang Mai has to offer!
Tartar the manager was so welcoming and helpful.would defiantly recommend this place.great value for money.
If you are going to stay in Chiang Mai, defeinitely stay here!!! Staff are extremely friendly, give brilliant advice on trips, jungle treks etc and give you a tonne of information on things to do around Chiang Mai. Location is key.
We stayed here twice during our travels around Northern Thailand. The staff are excellent, can't do enough to help you, always remember your names and very knowledgeable on the area and good advice on what to do and see (and not get ripped off). Wifi connection was very good, cable TV had some good movie channels which was welcomed after months of travelling. Breakfast was excellent.
Bathrooms are a bit dated but functional and clean so not really a problem. Rooms are only cleaned if requested so if you want it cleaned or new towels etc make sure you ask. Again not really a complaint just a FYI
Very helpful staff with plenty of local knowledge which made our stay extra special
