Located in the old city area of Chiang Mai, Viang Thapae Resort offers an outdoor pool. It is just a 5-minute walk from the Sunday Market at Thapae Gate.

The location was great. The staff were fairly helpfull. Pool and grounds nice.
Place was a little tired, cold shower for first 2 days until fixed. Breakfast below average.
Pool and outdoor area is OK
Very bad rooms, need huge reparations in room especialy bathrooms. Not att all happy about room , pictures on booking must have been retouched. It is to high price for that hotel
The Resort was very quiet and relaxing, very close to the CBD and there was very welcoming and friendly staff.
The Wifi network wasn't so good but probably due to the electricity being turned off because of construction. The buffet breakfast could do with some more variety.
Staff allways busy with internet. Allways! Tjonga are broken and nobody fixes it. The place is deterioating tragically. IT could be a 4 star place bur IT is Hardy a 3 star now. the place needs a boss WHO is present
Poor understanding of english. The place should have somebody responsible for client contact om a daily basis. The staff could not get me a busticket, Rolf me to go and fix IT myself., to many stafs st and around the reception doing absolutly nothing. Cheap Labour (?) but ineffective. PI
location, feels like home, quite
WiFi poor, basic decor
Staff were really great, happy, really tried to help. Garden and pool lovely. Linen very clean. Pillow and Bed - firm - but thats Asia and should be expected.
Wifi very limited, ended up going to a close hotel when I had to work. Bathroom could use a good scrub.
couple of hundred feet from all the zing, but vrey quiet location. such a little village feel but right in the thick of it!
The staff, the location, the pool, the restaurant staff, the old colonial style....our second stay and would stay again. Just loved the place and as we were there for Loy Krathong and staff even bought lanterns for guests to set off. I loved it
I had no complaints until the bill at the end. It included VAT of 7% which was not supposed to happen. I understand that the 7% being added to the meals and the bar charges but it was included on the accommodation. I have had several emails today to no satisfaction so check everything. I am very annoyed at this outcome. They won't move on it and so it is worth raising the point. The price when you are looking on booking . Co should be compared to others that include the VAT
no wi-fi even in room and lobby
The location is excellent, just a few minutes from the Tha Phae Gate. The pool is nice.
We found it impossible to connect to the wifi network (though other guests seemed able to connect in the lobby area). There was no signal in the room.
This hotel has the potential to be great as the location is fantastic and the property gardens could be lovely if maintained and looked after. BUT..... it is not clean or maintained
Very poorly run business Lazy staff Dirty pool with cracked tiles Bed bugs Very over priced cold, stale breakfast. Very expensive for such poor quality
A very friendly hotel. Staff were polite and extremely helpful. A very enjoyable stay, and will certainly use this hotel again on my next trip to Chang Mai
Breakfast meal was initially poor, but improved once more guests arrived at the hotel.
Nice pool. Family room was decent sized. Stayed for 3 nights.
Water temperature was inconsistent, one moment it was scalding hot, one moment it was icy cold. Suspected that there were beg bugs on the queen size beds, on the morning I checked out there was tiny bumps on my leg which has now developed into angry red bumps. WiFi not available in the room. No complimentary water provided.
Spacious rooms. Pool
No wi-fi in rooms
Located smack in the middle of a bustling, tourism-mad city, the Karinthip Village Hotel is an oasis of calm and beauty. It's certainly one of the more beautiful places I've stayed in Asia--an almost ethereal magic to the place. The staff were lovely and helpful at (almost) all times. The rooms were spacious enough, and very clean. Nice pool (almost the only source of noise).
There was only one glaring exception to mention: the wifi didn't work. We could connect to it, but we couldn't do anything with it (three devices). Access to the internet totalled a few minutes in four days. This used to be a common problem in Asian hotels, but it's a surprise to find it happening in such an otherwise well-run one now. Pleas to the staff that it be rectified met with no action we were made aware of.
The staff straight away were so friendly, the room was lovely and traditional. Pool was fantastic, not many people around. So cheap and just a lovely place to stay!
Nothing everything was great
Very nice and helpful staff. Areas to mix with other overseas guests. Excellent Pool and Gardens. Location, and value for money.
Buildings are solid brick, but have been up for some time. Interiors of room need attention, especially the Bathrooms.
The hotel was in a good location only good thing about it.
The hotel was very basic no wifi and lots of load young tourist drinking to the early hours. Breakfast had lots of flies around it.
staff were lovely, they had a safe, good central location
there were wires in the swimming pool which did not look safe, broken tiles in the swimming pool as well as around communal areas, my room just looked and smelled very old, my friend's room smelled of mould, I had no toilet paper for 2 days, nobody replaced it! tv remote control did not work and the list goes on and on.
Nice place to stay close to city center. Great installations in The city center.
Personal was not nice with us. They didnt talk to us. Apart from when they Told us What to Pay.....
Not a lot
More or less everything
Position inside the city but in a side road (so very quiet) Swimming pool Clean rooms
Laumdry very expensive (but there is another one just outside and the hotel staff informs you)
I have travelled a lot in Thailand and this hotel /village was very poor for value of money and comfort
Great location - close to everything but also a quite street Beautiful lay out - pool, greenery and architecture are all lovely Price was decent for quality of place (except breakfast) Drinks and food are served by the pool :) Staff were usually friendly and greeted us with a smile
Miscommunication about the price of breakfast - twice as much as quoted on booking.com and my friend had to pay for the meals that she didn't eat even though she left early! They close the pool from 8am-8pm Breakfast could be better but acceptable
