Staff speaks really good English is super friendly and helpful. Most relaxed and uncomplicated payment.
The mattress was really old and as it was laying on the ground we had a hard night.
The bungalow was good, but over priced. You get a fridge, aircon and hot water for the price, but it doesn't stop the electricity going down for extended periods. Location is close to ONE of the park entrances. If you are mostly interested in the lake trip, note that the lake is a 1.5 hour drive away, so you can probably find a hotel closer and cheaper to the main reason for your stay.
We got stuck out in the Jungle for near 24 hours during a trek, after we got caught in heavy rain, flash floods, and land slides, we were finally rescued by a rescue team and returned back to the hotel at just past 5am. The reception is not 24/7, and we had lost the room key in the chaos during our time stuck in the rain forest so we were locked out of our room. There wasn't even a number to call. So after what was probably the worst experience of my life, we had to sit outside the room, battered bruised and dehydrated, wet and filthy, covered in leech bites, waiting for somebody to turn up and let us into our room.
Very firendly staff. Accomodation is fine for the cost.
The stairs to the tree houses are steep and narrow in places. I had a fall (due to carrying two ruck sacks - my fault) but nonetheless this is something that people should be aware of
The tree house where we stayed 3 nights was perfect for our khao sok adventure. We had a beautiful view on the jungle. We really experienced the jungle feeling, especially when we woke up and could look into the jungle and hear the sounds of monkeys and birds. Amazing! We felt us safe in the tree house even when we heard a monkey on the roof. In the evening we could relax in the lovely jungle restaurant. The house is also very clean.
The canoeing trip was dissapointing and overpriced. But we discussed it with the hotel management and they will take care of it as we were not the only guests that complainted. The restaurant and bar close at 8.30 pm which we found a bit too early. The shower is next to the toilet, not so practical.
Trips, Facilities, & general Atmosphere was great
No shuttlebus service offered from Surat Thani when we booked but ask!
The most welcoming staff, run by a Belgian fellow and his wife, both fluent in English and French. Couldn't do enough for us! Perfect location for exploring the park they're trips were excellent. Treehouse was cosy and modern.
Great Staff Cool bungalow rooms Help you book everything Decent food (order thai)
wifi a bit slow bath had cold water only (shower was hot)
Clean Owner very kind Food awesome
excursions and excursion guides extremely helpful staff Thai food/ Pad Thai and curry dishes. Prices Proximity to national park and river
no wine while I was there. weak water pressure. at times weak WiFi
The staff, the other guests, the FOOD! It was the start of the rainy season, and so we experienced a LOT of rain...this is not a "luxury" resort...very clean...very hip...but it is rustic and comfortable, not grand. Expect to navigate around puddles and dripping bushes. It is the borderline of the jungle, folks! Also, the town has a charm that is simple and wonderfully intimate...again, not grand.
Our tree house lacked any comfortable seating in the room (which was ok, because we did not spend a lot of time in it...there was a great jungle to explore!) Even more importantly, our wonderful balcony lacked comfortable lounging furniture. We had to sit on hard chairs brought up from the dining area.
We stayed at the Khao Sok Paradise for 1 night in order to explore the Chiew Larn Lake, and regret we did not stay longer. This is the best Nature boutique Resort I experienced so far in Thailand. The Tree Houses are nestled in the deep Jungle but are very comfortable at the same time; it is nice to have a nice hot shower and an aircon room after a full day hike in the Jungle, not mentioning the very comfortable beds and the free in room Wi-Fi internet. The Resort has a Thai and Mediterranean fine dining restaurant, having travelled in Thailand for a long time and being married to an Italian I decided to go Italian, and I was amazed to see how good it was. The Paradise Resort also has a large selection of local and imported wine, try the white Chilean chardonnay. The full day lake experience was amazing; I would recommend it to everybody who wishes to visit Khao Sok, it actually is very good value for money. Thanks for Eric and his team to make our dreams become true. We will definitely come back next year.
Location is quiet and next to park entrance Owners and staff very friendly, accommodating, helpful, yet see my remarks Good quality food Unique 'tree houses" structure
After 1st day owners were nowhere to be found (rainy- low season yet...)and the girl who run this place although very sweet and friendly was not professional, did not make sure things are running properly: Bathroom had a bad sewer smell(we understood that during rainy season it is common) Food arrived cold during breakfast(no supervision)and coffee was only 1/3 cup. if you want more you pay
Great location, very nice accommodation. Really helpful staff. Good food.
Location to national park was good, hearing the gibbons and bird life, very good tour guide.
Dirty shower, inadequate cleaning, maintenance poor, toilet seat falling off, vermin in the roof disappointing to see traps set for squirrels in the grounds.
Short walk to khao sok national park Lots of excursions nearby Friendly staff
Room wasn't great but certainly bearable
Beautiful place in an amazing location. Owners were very kind and generous and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable even giving us an upgrade as we were a family needing more space plus getting essential medicine for me too. The Thai food served at the restaurant was delicious. When the owners were around the service was excellent and some snags with the room quickly resolved.
Unfortunately we did not feel that the staff were very effective when the owners were not around. Both days we had to ask for housekeeping as our rooms were not cleaned and only received it on the first day. Even though we were out on tours both days or in the restaurant so plenty of opps to have done it. If you have only one toilet bin plus baby nappies this can get quite smelly and unhygienic. Serving of breakfast was always difficult, our orders were always wrong small things but frustrating. Like receiving one contental breakfast when asked for 2, apple juice when asked for pineapple, tea when we asked for coffee, there was always something. Having a 4 year sitting there with no breakfast arriving as they had forgotten then once it eventually arrived after reminders being asked to hurry up as our booked tour guide was due to turn up is not on really. Other small attention to detail could be improved on, e.g having to ask for napkins as only some tables had a few. Having to buy a large bottle of water everytime you wanted just a glass. Messy plates not cleared from our tables ages after we finished eating until we did it ourselves. I think the front of desk manager who was doing a bit of everything probably struggled a bit with all the coordination, but it was low season so it was all very manageable. With a little more focus on customer service and staff noticing things that need doing esp when owners not around to supervise. This lovely place owned by a lovely couple could be as excellent as the facilities and location itself.
The staff were very helpfull both before we arrived (coordinating transport via email) and whilst we were there. They are a nice bunch of people. The resort is in a quiet setting and Khoa Sok itself is an easy walk. The food was quite OK, they serve cold beer and have a modest selection of wines (which they put in the fridge if you don't finish). It was OK value for money considering their location, and the tree house rooms are a different experience. We were able to settle our account via paypal which was a relief as the resort does not take credit cards.
The room (no6) was quite dark and during the day needed more effective lighting. A very minor irritation was being billed for water on the second day.
Staff, grounds, cleanliness, and excursions were all stellar.
Need better coffee!
Very nice welcoming, beautiful and clean room in the middle of the nature, what a place! Close to the national park and all what you have to do around! Thank you to the staff for everything, was a nice stay with you.
Don't book any excursions with them. They're mote expensive than other hotels in the area and you'll be lucky if the trip is actually booked!
Beautiful place, fantastic food, cosy tree house, superb excursions, friendly staff, everything brilliantly organised - this is the best place in Koh Sok by a mile!
Intermittent hot/warm water - not a problem unless you're washing long hair......
The family bungalow exceeded our expectations and was brilliant. The location was super, easy to access the national park. The staff were very attentive.
Food was not the best we had eaten in Thailand, especially for the price. Service was slow..
The staff were great and very helpful. They had just opened their cocktail bar the day we arrived, Xmas eve 2013.... Most excellent cocktails! Food was very good too. Only downside was a sewerage smell in our bathroom, but this is so typical of a lot of places in Thailand.
Friendly and helfpul staff, organized our hikes and boat trips as well as transport, everything very easy.
Food not great, although breakfasts were nice. Options limited in town, but worth the walk.
Comfy bed, lovely helpful staff, nice food in resteraunt. Accomodation clean and quirky.
