Quiet part of Khao Lak, close to Tub Lamu gc. Beautiful small (practically) private beach. Firm sand, very good for running. Big, comfortable room at bargain price. Firm bed--my bad back says thank you.
The makeshift wooden ladder provided by hotel for guests to climb down to the beach is unstable and unsafe. You have a better chance of preserving your life seeking a less steep spot along the shore to climb down. Can do with some beautification of the shoreline, debris removal.
The place was pretty run down not what we are used to the breakfast was very pool not much to chance from .the beds were so hard you could nt sleep that s way we book out 15days ahead of time very. L would not recommend it to anyone
The pool and the landscaping. Friendliness of staff
Water supply was cut off a few times.
Location- right on the beach and only a short walk to restaurants and offer facilities.
Fantastic location right on the beach. Very quiet resort. Rooms are large and well equipped.
Liked the location and the pool access rooms were great
the breakfasts did not have enough variety and the pool bar near the pool access room should have been open
Many were hit by a stomach bug. We got no information about the root cause
Some staff have got poor English
the service in the restaurant is very slow and they staff doesn't speak good English except a couple of people at the reception.
We liked the room , which we booked, the location.
Our room was double booked, and we were given a sub standard room in their sister hotel. The reception area was poor , the bed was really hard and gave me a bad back . The bar area was to small
Horrible experience! After having visited this hotel for two years we did not hesitate to book it again. However, the smell of canal and mould was the first "welcoming" sign. The room was smelly and walls all covered with mould. Aircon was switched off in the entire hotel at 22.00 and remained off till 7.00. No way you can have a rest!! Breakfast just miserable, no table service, no attention to guests, even if you ask for cutlery you will get none. And this horrible smell everywhere. Having travelled throughout Thailand since 7 years and having visited at least 30 hotels- this was our worse experience.
Staff eager to please Spa department
Hard beds Messy along the outside walkways to the rooms Poor wifi
We had a quiet, nice, large and comfortable room with an access to a private swimming pool. The air -conditionning is calm and far from the bed:we spent really goog nights! The breakfast is perfect and it opens very early: much practical before going and diving! The staff is very helpful. In the street you'll find very good massages.
When we booked the room, we weren't aware of the very noisy renovation work everywhere in the hotel. It was disturbing for everyone on the deckchairs:impossible to rest or appreciate the beach. At this price, it 's not acceptable at all. We waited 2 days for warm water(renovation work too!!!) in the room:we weren't aware when we booked. The Emerald Hotel, just near the Diamond beach Resort, belongs to the same hotel chain: when they do noisy renovation work, WHY don't they put the clients at the Emerald ???It was not full at all! If we had known, we would have booked at the Emerald! Not correct. Our room was on the ground floor:there was a sewer smell in the room and outside the room, imagin how pleasant it is when you are on holidays... The music all day long near the deckchairs and the swimming pool is irritating :too loud and too bad. The restaurants close to the hotel are not good and the tailors insist so much they are simply unbearable : at the centre of Khao Lak(10 minutes by car and very easy to park), you'll find very good restaurants.
Friendly housekeeping team, decent breakfast and quiet location on fairly nice beach.
Rude, incompetent and aggressive reception team. Misleading costings of room - room called 'deluxe; family room and then tried to charge 1000 baht for an extra bed for children. Incredibly unpleasant experience - whilst manager apologised for her staff, she didn't inform them of her decision to remove the extra charge which led to more confusion and upset on checking out. Children witnessed a staff member raising his voice and pointing his finger. Would never stay there and wouldn't recommend to anyone.
Free good internet, big nice room; excellent breakfast with new dishes everyday; right next to the village and shops. Perfect location for island trips to Similan, Surin and other islands. The beach is nice, quite and long, in December the sea was warm and quiet. The best bar by the pool amongst other hotels on the beach! Pool is good with nice music and very helpful staff. Free shuttle bus to Khao Lak town center. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are going to Khao Lak.
Hotel needs to put out a sign warning of the jelly fish in the sea. Jelly fish is almost everywhere in the Gulf of Thailand and Andaman so be aware.
The resort generally looks nice. Rooms are spacious and clean. Breakfasts ok. Massage & spa center great. The beach is very nice, not crowded, clean.
Lack of hot water for three of four days - there was a pump breakdown they could not fix. After several complaints we managed to get the discount for the whole stay. Construction works were performed on the way down to the beach, so view from the beach chairs was not so pretty. Our feeling was that most of resort staff is not customer oriented - they rather brush you off than try to help and resolve the issue.
Easy to get around in Khao Lak area, and closed to the pier.
Food around there were expensive. You should go to Khao Lak center for a better price.
Relative comfort. Staff nice and smiling (despite trying to sell things without being smart)
- Completely lost - Staff trying to sell things (like transport to the hotel) without being smart. - day trip proposed by the hotel expensive - Pool is not clean
Relative comfort. Quiet and calm place
- This hotel is lost without anything arround (only people trying to sell stuff and day-trek). - We had a view on the pool, but a private pool. The real one was far (not very but still). - Staff is trying to sell his trek, day trip or transport (example : not possible to use with other person the airport transfert with a realistic cost). - We thought it was a closer place to phang Nga than Phuket but as far as the other.
Reception Restuarant B/F& Dinner
Nameplate at Entrance too small Beach and strong wave
Nice room, as on picture, helpful staff, good breakfast and restaurant, Hotel location is close to the pier.
Dogs near the entrance to the hotel, hotel area is small, but to stay for couple of days it is good value for money
Very close to the beach. Good breakfast. Best beach in Khao lak. Room petfect.
We loved the massages. We did the standard Thai massage, the foot massage and the deep sports massage. The pool & fitness area are ok with towels always available. The sea and beach are very beautiful, but also very wild in with high waves. We would not recommend to stay here with small children.
We actually expected more from this hotel. It did not quite live up to our expectations. The basic facilities are ok, but the staff is not very friendly. When we arrived at the hotel, the staff tried to convince us to take another room with access to a second swimming pool for an additional room charge. When we did not go for this option, we got a room that was very far from the beach and main swimming pool and with a view on a wall.Considering it was low season and less than 25% of rooms were occupied,we believe this was not very good customer service. The bed in our room was extremely hard and uncomfortable to sleep in. Cleaning was only done basically and bed linnen not changed daily (which we believe is a must at a beach hotel). We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel and during our 3week-tour in Thailand we've stayed in cheaper hotels with better service and more luxury.
Direct access to the beach and the spacious rooms. Very relaxed environment.
The hotel is located some distance outside Kao Lak
