Only one negative - the restaurant. The service was shocking/non-existent. Waiter just sat - you have to get up and 1) go ask for the menu, 2) then get up and go ask to take your order, and 3) get up again and go ask for the the bill. Three times I went and just sat down, he saw me, but on all three occasions just ignored me until I got up and went to ask him for the menu. After bringing the menu I sat and waited to place my order, once I decided to time him to see if and/or when he would come back to take my order, after 45 minutes I got up and had to go ask him to come take my order, and on every occasion had to get up and ask him to bring the bill. Once I sat with my laptop working in the restaurant for 5 hours - absolutely no service whatsoever - never once came to ask if I wanted anything. I finally went to 7/11 and bought a few cool drinks as easier and less frustrating than having to stop working and get up and beg to be served! A 10% "service fee" is added but not sure why as no service!! The food is good, just not used to going to a restaurant and being totally ignored. Easier to just eat out as lots or restaurants close by with service.
The location was excellent - 10 minute walk to Night Bazaar, lots of restaurants on your doorstep, 7/11 convenience store, chemist, laundry service, etc. Guest House open air restaurant had a good menu and reasonably priced. Easy access to taxi/tuk-tuk or van taxi outside. Fantastic clean swimming pool with warm water and beautiful garden setting.
