Rooms!!! Staff!! Cleanliness
Lack of activities or things to do. Construction work on.
closeness to the ocean
Everything was great. Room was big and cheap. Maybe it was the low season. Staff were all nice and smiley even though english was not their first language, they try.
Lost 4000 out of 5000 baht of my money kept in my wallet in the room safe. Only 1000 baht was left in my wallet. Only realised the money was missing on out last day when checking out. We were in a hurry to leave as we had a morning flight out. Tried to explain to the staff at reception however as mentioned English was not a common language - message was not received as urgent and important as we'd like it to be handled. Wrote an email to the manager of resort. Situation still under investigation.
The travel booking agent was terrible, she was so unfriendly and unwelcoming. She owed me money because she didn't have change(300 baht) then got mad at me because the next day I asked for the money she said "it would be nice for a tip" Took forever to get a drink anywhere and the breakfast buffet was way to over priced.
Staff were friendly and polite. Smiled a lot and were very courteous.pools very nice, beach kept tidy at resort but untidy outside this area. Room staff very efficient, love the folded towel sculpture every day. It was situated close to the town and most amenities and shops. Tour desk were helpful and spoke good English. Food in restaurant was good but area for dining was noisy. Breakfast good but fairly basic.
Few Staff spoke any English. Many facilities like the bar and any poolside service were closed. One of our rooms was situated beside the generator and water pumps and was noisy some days there was no hot water in the showers and one morning no water at all. There are no lifts so difficult for elderly people to access stairs which were dark at night . Air conditioning in one room did not work properly and even when maintenance person "fixed it' it still did not work. No safe in 2 of 3 rooms and initially the one there was did not work. Ceiling fan in one room not working. Difficult to get reception staff to understand what was required around safe etc. it was basically an ok hotel but certainly lacking any luxury quality. Bedrooms are quite dark. It feels in need of some good general maintanance and paint to revive all areas.
I stayed in a villa room and liked the feeling of being in a rain forest. I also liked the small private outdoor garden behind the room that included a bathtub.
I booked a room in low season and things are little different at this time of the year. I originally booked for 6 nights and wound up checking out after just two nights there. I've listed the reasons below. Surly and unfriendly front desk staff. The poisonous snake at the doorway of my room which got halfway into the room. Luckily, the staff came quickly and got rid of it. The TV in the room had to be at least 15 years old. It wasn't even a widescreen TV. The room and furniture was very dated. All needed to be refurbished. No hot water the first night I was there and with minimal water pressure. I like to swim laps. It was difficult to do that if there was more than one person in the pool. The AC never really worked very well. The temperature was livable, but not as cool as I would have liked. The awful breakfast included with the room. Due to it being low season the buffet provided ONLY basics with most of the dishes being Thai. They didn't even offer potatoes. The restaurant staff however were very friendly. I guess the front desk folks could do with a lesson in hospitality from them. In low season, there are big waves on the beach. Forget even going into the sea. In low season, there are just a few shops and restaurants open within walking distance. I was able to buy beer and water from a few shops nearby and the Cook Kai restaurant had good food and was a 5 minute walk away. Overall, I found this hotel to be poor value for money and a depressing place to stay in the low season. I moved tothe Twin Lotus Resort, yes more money, but much better value.
excellent rooms and services, they upgraded us to direct pool access room which is SUPER nice. We then decided to stay for 3 more days in villa which is another memorable experience. Restaurant food is quite good, long beach is just 2 mins walk away from room.
the only down point is with the shower head and hot water.
Beautiful location, friendly helpful staff.
Beach was filthy Plastic, broken bottles, flip-flops, fishing nets, broken plates, you name it, it was there!!! Sea was rough, so no clear water this because of low season. I would not recommend Koh Lanta to anyone in low season!!! absolutely dead. but then again if you don't want anyone near you then it should be fine
- huge villa with outside bathtub - friendly stuff - cleaning every day (every day towels were arranged into different shapes, from a crab (!) to a squid (!!) - nice pool and sun beds (next to the beach and next to the swimming pool - close to cheap restaurants with amazing food
- the beach could be cleaned once in a while
Escaping on a motorbike somewhere else to relax...this is during low season
The mouldy smell in the bedroom.the dead feeling of the all resort.too much concrete not enough trees and green.the luck of facilities to have a drink or eat something...basically a dead resort in low season only good for chinese groups!
Clean and quiet, it's low season and there are few guests, garden view is nice and staffs are friendly.Breakfast is simple but of good quality.
There is a slope in front of the resort, and it takes 15 minutes to walk to 7-11.
The hotel was easy to find and the location was quite nice. The staff was friendly and helpful, the breakfast was good (buffet), the pool was clean and the massage in the spa area was of good quality. We got an upgrade to a villa room, since in the main building maintenance was still going on. Unfortunately, the maintenance also included the closure of the big pool area, which we regret very much. The beach location was beautiful and the hotel area itself has many lovely trees and bushes, which felt quite comfy.
We travelled in low season, we knew that the island would not be booked out. Unfortunately, the main building was closed due to maintenance, which also included the big pool area to be closed. Thus, at some times the small pool was very packed with other guests. The villa room we got was in the beginning smelling and a bit dusty, because it was probably not used for a while. On the second day it was way cleaner. The room was big and nice, however the water pressure in the shower was very low and unfortunately, no warm water was coming out. The DVD player had the wrong remote, but the hotel staff helped us out very quickly. The beach location was very beautiful, however the beach itself was very dirty, with many plastic bottles and other trash. Nobody seemed to feel responsible for cleaning up the beach.
Just loved our stay here we had a bungalow right near the beach it was so beautiful and peaceful, we enjoyed it so much and had a really relaxing time. The food was excellent which was great as nothing much open around the area this time of year and the staff very friendly and helpful. Really recommend staying here in a bungalow and great value for money too,
The staff and services provided are worth remembering
The fear of insects
Nice pools (although one was green and had a film floating on the top of it). Good breakfast. Nice beach, although a bit trashy when the tide goes out. Beautiful sunset. Big room cleaned every day.
Tiger mosquitoes that got into the room every day and ate us alive, leaving awful bites. Room stank of mould. Outside "bath" on the balcony filthy. Staff in the restaurant totally disinterested in customers. On the two occasions that I ate lunch there, I had to get my own menu, get up and walk to all the seated staff on their mobiles at the back of the restaurant to place my order, and do the same again for the bill. They just all sat slumped over a table with their phones. The beach was a bit dirty. Trash on the sand. It's an island of flies. Everywhere we ate we would eat with one hand and wave away the flies with the other. It's an OK place and I paid low season prices. I would be mad if I had paid any more than that! Certainly not worth it.
Swimming Pool, transportation to Saladan is convenient withTuk Tuk &, if you arrive via Phuket Airport take private van to Lanta Sand Resort, ocean view is very nice
Breakfast has not much choice, all hotels could focus more to clean the beach from rubbish which come from the ocean
Good location next to the beach. 50 baht tutuk ride to the town/ pier. Had a tourist desk open at all hours making easy to book tours and ferry tickets.
The hotel was under reconstruction. Wifi did not work - it worked for about 7 mins then would drop out. Wifi did not work in the room, near the pool. There was nothing in the minibar was never restocked. Hot water didn't work, even after it was 'fixed'. Service at the onsite massage place was bad. The outside bath/pool did not look like it had ever been cleaned. And no room service - room service was only available within lunch and dinner hours ( not when one needs room service). Did not have towels in shape of elephants :(
The breakfast was exceptional, ocean view, local music and food along the beach, transportation to and from the resort was excellent.
Liked everything about it.
Good location, clean beach.
Good be a very good resort but it is not well maintained. Sometimes you had a little hot water. One night no water at all. Wifi advertised but did not work.
The garden villa was peaceful, a bit old but appropriate for price paid. Room looks like the picture. Hotel is very well situated on long beach, with the small village at the right on the main roan for cheap food, exchange and tours. We got a good deal from booking and at this price it was good value for money. Hotel came to pick us at pier.
Restaurant... Food was very expensive and average. Better to go on main road. Tours at hotel are expensive for the same thing proposed in main road.
choiche of two pools. a lot's of restaurants in walking distance.
overpayied breakfast. cleaning was without viping floors with water eg. the sink was stucked and never fixed. very high klor(?) in the children-pool, the kids had pain in their eyes. we stayed one week and payied a lot's of moeny. but was charged extra for breaking one coffecup..
Location was nice, 4km away from Saladan pier (100 bht/pp tuc tuc); the resort itself it´s involved in a very nice green area next to the beach; beach is really nice if you plan to rest, despite of high season not that many people; Staff is kind of helpfull and nice but limited in terms of english; restaurant is overpriced so just walk either left or right at the beach and you will finde cheap and good both local or international food;
we stayed for 1 week in one room, room was simply ok, there is a side division kind of living room with a fan on the ceiling but there is not a couch which would be nice just 2 wooden chairs; Wifi doesn´t work in the room, only in public areas such as restaurant and reception;
This place is great. you have access direct to the beach, 3 swimming pool, nice coctails at the beach bar, good restaurant (specially the salad are awesome). the bungalow are clean, very weel equipped and really nice. the resort is at 10 min from the city so easy to access and far from the people. ideal for people who wants some tranquility!!
Some people are not very welcoming but they're still efficient in their worl :-)
