The staff is very helpful and the position is good for visiting the city, just 5 min. walking out the old city. Room big and clean and good breakfast. A hotel like this should provide free wifi.

The reception and hospitality and cleanliness is very good. They should provide special arrangment or allow to arrange to cook in a seperate place within the hotel premises ( like asians which do not eat non-vegetarian foods)

It is part of a shopping mall complex..great if travelling with teenages. The room were clean and roomy. At arrival you are asked to pay in full for your stay. We were staying 10 days, so that was alot of money up front. We got a deluxe room which was spacious and had a bath. But the bath is pointless unless you don't mind it cold like the shower. There is no tea and coffee facilities, the wifi is expensive $2 per 1/2 hour. We wanted to book out, and luckily my dentist in Chiang Mai made some calls to and organised to get us out after 3 nights, and a refund on remaining nights, But to rub salt in the wound, it turns out we weren't paying $88 aud per night for 10 nights as was shown on booking.com but $120 for the first 5 then $55 for the last 5. Which took a large chunk out of the refund to use at the next hotel. Not impressed at all...

Staff very helpful. Rooms lovely, lobby beautiful. The night time singer was great although the morning piano guy was awful. Be aware the currency in this hotel is 200v. As I didn't have a converter (I haven't needed one for anywhere I have travelled in Thailand) this meant I was completely unable to recharge my ipad or phone. The reception staff did their best to help and even charged my ipad via usb on their computer - but if you were staying any more than a day or two this wouldn't be very practical.

the hotel was HUGE, I think 10 years ago that would be considered the most luxurious hotel in Chiang Mai, it has a lot of rooms. a pool, WiFi (not free), staff were wonderful, their food wasn't bad, on top of that, the room was huge. they also had a musical performance every night i booked this hotel on a deal through Booking.com i'd assume the hotel would've been much more expensive if it wasn't for the deal. the rooms didn't have a safe in the room, most of the hotel lights were off

The staff were very kind and helpful. The hotel has a nice rustic look (brick based architecture). Conveniently located and easy access to town and other places. The room wasn't adequate; there were no ironing facilities (you have to do your laundry in order to get your clothes ironed). There were no kettle in the room for boiling water, when asked, the receptionist mentioned that they had run out of kettles (only a limited number). The room was old, water stains on the bathroom ceiling and the hot water wasn't hot, only lukewarm. The balcony wasn't a real balcony, no open area for you to go out to. The TV was old and wasn't of good quality (rather poor images being shown due to the TV). There were only 2 English channels.

Our first time in Chiangmai, we really enjoyed it, The Lotus is older as it was one of the first taller buildings made in its area, we found it was clean, roomy and beds were comfortable. Having a shopping center connected was a plus too! We recommend if you are opened to the fact it is older, Id say in its days it would have been like royalty. Kids enjoyed pool too.

Location was good and this is a fine big hotel with very big & comfortable rooms. Next door to a really big shopping mall and close to plenty of restaurants too. Food wasn't great and breakfast was a bit disappointing.

We stayed here in October 2012. Location is convenient - It's beside a shopping mall where food, massage and beauty saloons are readily available. Our room was on the 10th floor and it's not crowded and noisy. The breakfast - local dishes taste better than the western ones. Easy to take a taxi to the night bazaar. Hotel doorman was very helpful for information about taxi fare (20bht) to the night bazaar and distance of travel time (25 to 30mins). A lot of Pubs within walking distance. The aircon is very noisy and temperature is not easy to control. It can get too cold or warm at times. There is no safety box in my room. Room looks very aging and in need of refurbishing especially to the toilet taps, fridge and aircon. Toilet can get flooded if not careful. The TV is the small, old fashioned type (box type not flat screen). Volume is difficult to control and can get too loud for some channels. We could feel the springs on the bed. Limited English channels. Not enough good lighting for reading in the room. Not worth to pay for the breakfast (about 230bahts) -not much variety of food. The table clothes and seats looked dirty.

I have stayed there many times. The hotel is showing its age, but given the size of the rooms, its great value. Breakfast are very ordinary and it took forever for room service to deliver two towels

As being citizen of closely country where culture and custom are almost same - means we have same language that helps me feeling very easy in living, going, shopping, eating, etc... I am feeling that staying in this hotel is more comfortable than any hotel in the region (big room, nice bed, completed tools, etc...). I like it and for sure will stay in this hotel again when visiting Chiang Mai. Thanks for excelleng assistance and services.

The Price was good, and it was very convenient for shopping, restaurants and the hospital. For a family with luggage it is rather inconvenient to get in and out. Moving luggage out to the street is difficult. Also the internet is rather expensive and a bit hard to use.

Friendly staff, excellent size pool, convenient for shopping/eating, slightly distressed old-fashioned hotel with real character and a sense of history. The noisy but talented house band that played every evening till after midnight - annoying enough on the sixth floor - must have been hell on the lower floors, especially for anyone with a young family or tired travellers trying to get to sleep! Perhaps a more reasonable, earlier start/finish time would be more customer-friendly?

I have been to this hotel on several occasions and would highly recommend this this hotel, especially the deluxe rooms. The superior rooms are located in a different building and are not so easily accessible to all the shopping and restaurants as the main building is. The drain in bathroom sink was very slow.
