Great locations. All the important temples are in walking distance. It's easy to give an alm in front of the hotel in the morning. Only 10 min walk to Saturday walking street. The room and hotel neighborhood are quiet. I've tried different breakfast dishes. They're all great.
The shower temperature is difficult to adjust. There are not so many local restaurants around the hotel. Most restaurants are for foreigner.
Excellent location and environment, friendly staff and good services. I will recommend this hotel to every friends.
It would be perfect if it has a pool or extra services like massage and spa ;)
The location is right in the centre of the old city, and just a couple of minutes walk from Wat Chedi Luang (arguably the most iconic sight in Chiang Mai) and from the Sunday Market. Plenty of places to eat and shop nearby. The lobby area is beautifully designed, and the outdoor dining area provides an unforgettable breakfast experience; the breakfast isn't bad either
The rooms are quite small and feel cheaply assembled. They're also not soundproof, especially if you live on the ground floor; even light footsteps upstairs are quite audible. Rooms not particularly clean. Nothing too worrying, but seeing pieces of tape and packaging on the bedsheet right after checking in wasn't a good sign. Makka Hotel felt more like a B&B than a 4-star hotel. During my entire stay, I regretted not choosing Le Meridien, which costs even less, instead
The staff is perfect and the hotel is charming, really recommend.
Great location, very convenient to visit famous attractions. There are variety of cafe and restaurants nearby. Hotel is a very nice boutique guesthouse, typical Lanna style decoration, very quiet. Breakfast time is from 6:30-12, it is sweet to people who in vacation. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, my husband left a sunglasses when we checked out, because they helped us to book taxi so they knew our destination. What happened? After we arrived in few minutes, we heard "Hi Sir, you lost your sunglasses..." We already recommended Makka to our friends who will visit Chiangmai in next month.
The space of bedroom too tight to feel a little uncomfortable, but it will not be a barrier to stay because Makka has a very nice and comfortable library.
It is an excelent refugee frim the city hustle, although it is well located. Excelente new facilities, excelent breakfast and service. Booked for an extra day, because was enjoying so much.
Wi-fi system. Had to keep on asking for password as the system wouldn't accept the previous ones
We loved this small hotel, everything about it, but more than anything, the feelings of calm and relaxation the clean open spaces and stylish design creates. Impossible to be stressed here! What the staff have achieved as an overall experience is delightful. A beautiful stay, a great location, ample breakfast, attentive service, and three days of calm. What more do you need?! Top quality, thanks !
Good photos create high expectations.
Located in the middle of the walled city the Makka Hotel was a very serene place where one could relax and recharge after a hectic day exploring Chiang Mai life. The style of the building is very unique and the smaller size provided a very cozy atmosphere and an ability to get to know the very courteous, effective and helpful staff better. We would definitely stay there again if we get back to Chiang Mai.
Since the atmosphere at the hotel is very calm it would have been very nice if they had a small area with a bar where one could sit and relax with a drink without having to go shopping first. Small detail but it would enhance the experience.
The front line service staff are very friendly and helpful. We like the traditional architecture, old style furniture and the garden with two old trees. The library and the roof top lounge make us feel relax. We also liked the philosphical sayings on the walls. We enjoyed the ala carte breakfast.
Great breakfast ,all u can eat and cook fresh when you order ，serve from 6am-noon ！！ All new experience of how hotel Should be ！！ Great staffs ，excellent attitude ! Breathless architect ，
The only complain is ， NONE ！！！
- location - breakfast
Beautiful architecture. Great staff. Delicious breakfast. Quiet ambiance.
Location is the best, it allow us to explore the city of Chiang Mai. Breakfast is good, serve till noon is so great!. Design and landscape of the hotel is flawless.
We have issue with pillows, with some reasons we felt pillows not confortable and they ruin our sleep. Size of pillows not big or not small enough, in total they are not good. Also, too few amenities provided with this price of hotel!
Style of the hotel Cleanliness
Room was very small for the standard of the hotel
The Makka is a tranquil oasis in the middle of Chiang Mai, a lovely spot that is beautifully designed and staffed by warm, caring people. The rooms are thoughtfully arranged and extend the calm atmosphere that the rest of the Makka exhibits. And the breakfasts are excellent, with a large selection of possibilities to choose from. We will be returning in several weeks for another stay. Can't wait.
The bed was a trifle hard for older bones. There is no pool, although that is a deliberate decision by the owners. We're told they wanted nothing to detract from the tranquillity of the place. We understand.
Excellent location, within walking distance to all popular attractions (especially the Sunday walking market). Very friendly staff who do everything to make your stay as easy as possible.
Not enough info available in the hotel about local attractions and tours.
Poor breakfast choice for western
Outside look fantastic , very beautiful Staff very nice ( Excellence ) Breakfast ( made to order ) lot's of choice and taste really good
- In bathroom the washbasin it's too small and water from shower not so strong and not too warm - lot's of mosquito in room - no dressing table - no swimming pool
Rooms are not sound proof. Very noisy. Poor room maintenance. Untrained staff. No English except from Hotel manager and his assistant.
酒店设计的非常漂亮 位置优越 在契迪龙寺对面 非常干净 员工友好 非常泰国感觉 早饭点餐制 有亚洲和欧陆美式 都不错 餐厅也很漂亮 有很漂亮的阅览室
Nice staff and nice food. Would be a perfect place if there was a pool.
Our whole experience at Makka Hotel was exceptional, we could not fault the rooms, facilities nor the service. Thanks for having us we will be back.
The breakfast menu could have been a little more extensive.
Nice staff, very friendly, but a budget hotel,
Could improve on cleanliness, and hygeine. Little over-priced for the what was offered.
A beautiful haven in the heart of Chiang Mai. The property is beautiful, and the staff are helpful and gracious. They really added to the great time we had in Chiang Mai. The Makka is 2 minutes walk from Wat Chedi Luang.
Only a tiny thing, but espresso coffee in the morning would have been nice.
