The staff were lovely and the pool was nice. The breakfast was wonderful with the best poached eggs in Thailand so far. Very helpful staff who were also happy to let us leave our bag as we went on an overnight trip then back for one more night.
The bed was too hard for me.
Located in a small street (can be considered as an alley). Spacious room with simple decoration but very clean and quite. If you can ride, ask the staff they will contact the motorbike owner to bring the motorbike to you & they will come get the motorbike at the hotel- very convenient (about 200 BAHT/ day- 24 hours)
A distance walk from the hotel to any famous places: Night market, Old city, Famous Pagodas,... The hot water is not working sometimes so you should give a note while booking & ask them again before you receiving the room.
We got a suite of sorts, with a separate bedroom which was perfect for our little family. The downstairs terrace is lovely for sitting on in the evening. Hot water is available all day and night which is great for making baby bottles. The breakfast was excellent, hot (!) en fast.
Wifi was weak and intermittent. We booked a baby cot but they turned out not to have any. The room could do with some extra shelf space - there were lots of cabinets but they didn't open or had no shelves to put anything on.
Mandala House is quite centrally located, within walking distance to Ta Pae main road, where one can go for meals.Besides, the Walking Market is also nearby. For would be travelers, please include a Sunday in your tour as you MUST not miss the endless Walking Market held every Sunday. There's plenty to see ,hear, eat and buy!Tour agents are everywhere, so you can shop around! Mrs. N.T. Selvam, Malaysia
Though the breakfast is complete as in a continental set, I wish it was a buffet . Tourists staying at Mandala house include Europeans and Asians. A buffet breakfast can include some local delights and variety so that those who stay longer will not be bored eating toast every morning! This is also a suggestion to the proprietor for future improvement. Thank you. Mrs. N.T.Selvam, Malaysia
Excellent location,, quiet street yet close enough to walk to city centre. Approx ten min walk. Top notch staff! Clean, well maintained facilities. Beautiful pool and staff catered well to your needs at pool, supplying towels, fruit and drinks. Staff English pretty good, staff attentive, accommodating and respectful to all guests that I could see. We booked scooters and our bussing through hotel. We paid 30bht/ day for each scooter, could have got them for less elsewhere but was worth the convenience to pay a biit more as they were delivered and picked up at hotel. Beds were comfortable, but typical hard Thai mattresses.
Only complaint was the high cost to have laundry done through hotel. Didn't realize it cost 45 bht per clothing article, not per kg until we got laundry back. We didn't read the contract when we brought laundry to front desk.
near to center of City
Poor wifi system
generally speaking, the hotel is very good and people very nice, we are very satisfied!
the wifi signal is not good in my room, and i cannot connect to wifi for internet access.
Our room was awesome! And the free breakfast was amazing! No buffet. They had a few choices and was made fresh. Free coffee, juice, 2 toast, 2 eggs anyway, bacon and ham! Staff excellent and was in super location. WiFi in room not great but very good downstairs. We would definitely stay again!
Wifi not grest in room. Was on 5th foot.
Easy walking distance to many sights. Very quiet location with good breakfast included. Larger sized clean room.
Nice big room Nice staff Breakfast ok
Water is yellow en go from hot to cold. There are bugs in the beds who bite you when you sleeps.my girlfriend has been bitten at least 20 times.even after we get a new room the problem was here also.1 Night I found one and squeezed it in a toilet paper and it was full of blood.the staff know of the problem but can not fix it.after 5 nights we leave and get our money back of the last 9 nights we would normally stayed there.if they can not fix this bug problem,I go never again.otherwise very nice to stay
Location, huge nice rooms, great breakfast, good Wi-Fi, excellent staff.
Good quiet location, usable pool, our room had a fantastic view of the mountains. The room was huge for the 3 bed family room we had and also with one of the best bathrooms we'e ever seen in budget hotel. Very helpful staff, even though their english was unsurprisingly just average.
Bedbugs. Had in every bed we had (3), so waking up in the morning for the blood spots on the linen and full eaten bedbugs was unpleasant. Although there werent many of them, even 1 is too much for such a place.
Staff members were very helpful and friendly.
It would be better if Staff members are fluent in English and communicate more effectively with toruists.
The size of the room. Air Con. Some of the Staff were lovely. Bathtub. LEAVING after 3 nights !!!
* Demand to pay, even though the agreement was 'stay before pay'...I can see why now. * Horrific 'screams' from female on the first night...I still think about this & wish I had of called the Police ! * Got food poisoning from the meal I ordered from their menu, on the first night...I lost 2 days of my vacation because of this. * Dogs barking through the night. * POOR parking...we were shown an alternative on our last night. * Internet kept dropping out. * Their I.T. Person used 'my' Tablet to 'Like' themselves on facebook WITHOUT my permission...after he check my wifi. * Rooms have 'potential', but look 'unfinished' at the moment. * Some Staff need Customer Service Training.
the staff don't smile too much but they were really professional, excellent in attending to any requests ( which is more important). We had a problem with a water heater which was solved immediately. Had asked for a quiet room as a special request when i booked which they provided. the rooms are very spacious and clean, room is cleaned everyday. Its great to have a balcony to your self if you smoke. the location is close to everything there.
The breakfast was a bit lacking but given the price, it was nothing to complain about. breakfast area is small and loud, you may have to wait a bit to get served depending on time you get up. Was bitten a few times in bed, found 2 bed bugs although we could not find any others after a thorough search. Didnt complain as we found this on last day. I would have rated this hotel 9 out of ten if not for this. Rooms were kept clean and i don't think the bed bugs are a chronic problem. Might be a good idea to check. possible problems we didnt need to deal with: The hotel pool (which wasnt needed) is actually across the road, open to public. Construction work (v loud) currently on going nearby so dont stay near the front of the hotel.
the facilities are so great, staffs are so nice
My two friends was Allergies after sleeping on the bed,the toilet was smelly
Wifi Breakfast Location
Coffee .. Water tastes awful Staff non smiling. Rude at times
Big room, lots of space, excellent location between the night market and thapae (spelling ?) Gate, short stroll to either. Small pool across the road was surprisingly perfect for chilling out, despite limited seating and size. Not a bad breakfast, even by day 6.
Wouldn't stop me going back, but everything from loose taps to loose shower fittings, uneven floors, all little things. All the pieces are there for a beautiful hotel, but enough pieces aren't bolted together properly to make it noticeable.
The breakfast was fine and arrived quickly. The location is handy too many attractions in Chiang Mai, although it is located down a narrow lane way quite some distance from the main road.
Mandala House advertised that free parking was available and that reservation.of a parking spot was not required There is only parking for one car available on site. The unadvertised off street parking is about 100 metres away up a poorly lit lane in an unpaved yard littered with junk. This property is totally unsatisfactory for travellers arriving by car. The reception staff are not at all friendly; the restaurant staff are untrained in basic English and could not understand a request for a menu from another guest. Although there was no street noise, there was loud noise throughout the night from other guests arriving back
The pool was very pleasant. The beach was very close. Apart from the manager all staff were very polite and pleasant
When we arrived the manager tried to charge us a huge amount for an extra bed which I initially paid for as I was not informed that there was a sofa bed where a small child could sleep in. The sofa bed was already included in the price. There were two trainees who were very good and pleasant who were observing all this. When we got to the room I noticed the sofa bed and asked if I could use the sofa bed for the child instead of the bed and she informed me that I could as it was included and I would get a refund. I phoned the manager from the room to verify this and she said that I had to pay for someone to use the sofa bed. On ending the call the trainee told me this was not right and agreed to come to the reception to discuss the matter. Having discussed the matter, it was agreed that the sofa bed was included and I got my money back. Both trainees profusely apologised but the manager who was trying her utmost to cheat me did not. I believe one of the trainees should be the manager and the manager should be the trainee
very good deal for tha price we paid. Clean air-con rooms, tasty breakfast, nice staff, and option to book adventurous tours right in the hotel.
large room with A/C and flat TV. Wi-FI worked well. Full Breakfast included.
We had car and saw only one spot to park but not a problem. Bed was old and not comfortable (they appear to be remodeling hotel and that is good).
great location! about 5 min walling from the main street and night market. the beds were comfortable, we used mosquitos spray so we didnt have any.
breakfast is not a buffet, so it is a bit small.
Silence during the night
Staff unfriendly, no english speaking. We paid for going to see elephants and long neck village but they booked for us only the elephants tour. We paid more and get less. And of course no money back. DON'T GO HERE! ps this place is very far from the center of the city
Staffs were very helpful. Great location. It was definitely worth what you paid for
Wifi automatically turned off every now and then but that maybe just because of my phone
