Very clean, very spacious. We liked the easy access to the night market. We ordered a taxi for early morning departure and it was right on time. Thank you!
Staff couldn't speak much English, we couldn't speak Thai, so some uncertainty communicating. But everything we needed was provided.
Good location and pleasantly small . Nice staff and kept very clean . 7/11 near the front entrance , large western style supermarket with 150 mts . Nice river view from front rooms . No kettle in room but many coffee places within 200 mts . Good free wifi . Hot water and air con , adequate .
Noise can be a factor , if that bothers people . It is on a busy intersection and backs onto a busy shopping mall car park where the security guard guides parkers with a whistle all day . Some tea and coffee making in room would be preferred . Also a little table and chairs on the nice front balconies would be an asset , for the relaxing views.
View of the river. great price. free wifi. balcony. Good food and entertainment a short wal across the iron bridge.
This was my second stay at Mawin. My first stay was in January 2013 and at that time they were just starting out, so i felt things would improve.
This time i failed to see any major change in hotel service. they still dont serve breakfast. There was no concierge services, no one to help with getting the bags to the room. Absence of a small basic cafe is a disadvantage although there is 7/11 nearby. The hotel wifi also did not seem to particularly work well. Also the staff seem inadequately versed in English and could improve their polity.
Our room had a nice view of the river. Car parking was good. A short stroll from the night bazaar.
A little noisy from music on the street, but quiet after midnight. Limited choice of channels on TV.
Location, Wi-Fi, helpful staff, quiet, nice view. If you're looking to save money and not concerned with amenities, room temperature (with a west-facing room at least), or a soft bed, then the Mawin Hotel is the place to stay when in Chiang Mai.
VERY poor air conditioning (in west- facing room at least; lack of adequate number of towels (wash cloths, hand towels); very hard bed; electricity in room turned off (i.e., air conditioning!) when leaving room and removing the key from the little wall "holster" in the room that made the electricity turn on. This meant that the A/C didn't work while we were out for the day and had to return to a very hot, uncomfortable room.
pleasant atmosphere simple and quiet
Hotel staff was very polite and helpful. Room was clean and the location of the hotel was excellent. I will stay there again, no question about it.
No Free beer
Excellent WiFi and outings for tours. The owners were unbelievably accommodating and helpful. Very clean rooms and within 5 minutes walking from the night bazaar.
A bit far from the eat of the city but it is easy to get around. Nothing else had to say. Excellent value.
Owners were very helpful. The hotel is very new and immaculate, someone was always cleaning the floors, windows, etc. Very convenient location and for the money I could not have been happier.
Quiet area of town, nice to have river opposite which gave a peaceful feel. Location is good for supermarket, banking, 7-11. The rooms are clean, modern and spacious.
No breakfast was the main negative. Also no safe in our room was a shame.
The friendliness, very clean, very close to night bazaar and also morning market, eating places not a problem, depends on what you like to eat. Hotel rates good.
