Montrara Happy House  

I travel to Chiang Mai a couple of times each year and almost always stay at Montrara Happy House. Place is simple and rustic in a very charming way. Owner and staff are always helpful. Location is great, on a small alley half a block from Thae Pae gate (one of the major areas for various activities). The owner is always extremely helpful with arranging various trips/activities. Breakfast each day (included) is one egg, toast, a warm roll with butter/marmelade, fresh fruit, orange juice and coffee/tea.

Location is very good and being on a side street makes it less noisy. Staff is very friendly (and they speak English quite well). They can provide car parking.

Room has old furniture, a little too small and crowded (but you can see this from description).

Smell in the room and bathroom are badly like rat shit, very strong made hardly sleep. They use Naphthalin in the bathroom, its smell is stuck on cloth. I wanted to check out but already paid for room.

First of all, I liked the staff. They were very friendly, answered all our questions about the locations of the places of interest, gave us a map and marked all of them. Very nice people! I also liked the location, we lived right in the city center.

The decoration of the room is quite old, it has almost nothing in common with the foto on booking.com Despite I booked a superior room, it looked old and definitely not luxurious or superior. But the atmosphere itself was very nice due to nice staff and I can't say we were totally disappointed.

Very friendly & helpful manager, at least during the day. The night crew's English wasn't as good but they tried. Good breakfast, coffee refills, comfy bed, great location, quiet.

Tiny room, no place to put a laptop, just a bed, small TV & an armoir. Mold in the bathroom. Rather shoddy overall. If you don't spend much time in the room & want a safe, quiet, cheap place this is it. We, however, checked out early.

Good location for going to either old town or new down town. The staff of the hotel are very friendly and helpful. You can feel that you were staying in a friend's home. The room decoration is quite traditional style. It is very enjoyable to listen to the classic Thai music in their lobby. The breakfast is simple but good enough.

The hotel is in the heart of Chiang Mai near the West Gate. The staff is extremely friendly and smiling - it is great. In the room you have safety box. The breakfast is included in the price. It is not so great but it's good to eat something before sightseeing. You coul organise the trekking in the hotel. The prices are similar to travel agencies in the town.

The room is small, not so comfortable and not so clean, especially in the bathroom.

This hotel is a real gem: well located for both the old quarter and the night market, with the feel of a small family-run business. The owner is an incredibly friendly guy who made us feel really welcome at all times. He had a very relaxed attitude and helped us to book a couple of trips, which were great and we could pay everything on card at the end of our stay. The room was quite small but impeccably cleaned and had virtually everything we needed. It was very good value for money with a lovely breakfast included in the price: toast, fried eggs, fresh fruit, a croissant and fresh roll to share, tea and juice. We could also access free wifi throughout the hotel and there was a PC we could use downstairs. Also the owners have an adorable cat!

We missed not having a fridge while we stayed here but it wasn't really an issue. Otherwise there was nothing we didn't like about the place!

Niet veel goeds over dit hotel te zeggen buiten de locatie dan.

Kamer was oud, versleten, vuil, en stonk. De "propere" handdoeken waren vuil, met zwarte vegen. Lakens stinken muf. In de badkamer was er een spinnenweb van zeker een paar dagen oud. Bed kraakte verschrikkelijk. Muren zijn van karton evenals de deur dus je hoort elk geluid. Geen lift. Geen koelkast. En zo kan ik nog uren doorgaan....

Ottima posizione, comodo per il centro e non troppo lontano dal night market. Staff cordiale, colazione ok.

La pulizia della camera è un po' aprossimativa.

有设计感的一家小店子，前台小哥会说中文，并且也很友善。

房间太小，设施很简单。性价比不是很好。

Vale quel che paghi ma la posizione veramente ottima il personale gentile e la colazione e buona le camere possono apparire inizialmente un pò fatiscenti ma alla fine sono pulite e con aria condizionata

Qualcuno del personale non parla l'inglese

服务态度差，manager没有任何诚信，在没有通知我们的情况下自行刷卡。在预定是确定有早餐的情况下，- 由于之前关于旅游预订的一些问题，manager竟然说没有早餐，我们拿出预订单后竟然说只有土司没有咖啡- 和果汁，做宾馆这种服务态度，太差劲，强烈不推荐。房间非常不干净，标间非常小，除了一张床其他基本放不下- 。 The service is very bad,when we arrived hotel,the manager told us that we can pay by cash,but before we checked out, he didn't inform us and get the money from credit account two days before.so we are angry for it. the floor and sheet of the room is very dirty, the bed is very soft and hole inside,there was a lot of mosquitos inside the room, so each day we take a lot of time to fight with it before sleep.we recommend not to book the other travel programs at this hotel,because the price is higher than other anent.

The staff was very friendly and the location was great.

Although the place has a lot of charm, it is really in need of renovation. The place is original and nicely designed, yet, everything is sort of run down and in need of fresh paint, new matrasses,... Also older people might find it hard to reach the top floors without an elevator.

Goede locatie. Lekker ontbijt. Zeer vriendelijk personeel.
