Locates near to the down town.
Local hotel with public beach. No good facility for the kids. Terrible wifi in pool Villa
Staff Service The room, especially the bath Food Location Wifi
The location, the beach and the "feel' of the place was nice. Also liked the size of the rooms and the pizza place
Completely over-priced for what is was ($AUD $588 a night). For that price, top-class service is mandatory and service was really lacking here. The rate included a New Year's Gala dinner (which we didn't know about) which was ridiculously over-priced and didn't include drinks. A complete rip-off. We won't be back
Staff can't communicate in english
Very good villas on top floors with private pool of good size; polite and helpful staff in beach restaurant, porters and drivers; good location on Choengmon Beach with some "life" and plenty of dining options outside the hotel, free shuttle to Chaweng beach (island's main beach for more "life"), although the schedule is not perfect; nice main pool next to the cave.
No constant pool boy service, we've managed to beg towels 2 times, but were sent back to our room for them the rest times; no drink service beside the pool (at least we see no waiters there); wi-fi did not work at our room, the promised IT specialist never showed up to fix it, we had to catch wifi from neighbors resulting in poor and unstable connection; housekeeping does not honer Don't Disturb sign; broken sun bed in villa; hot water from cold water tap; mostly unfriendly and unprofessional personnel at the reception (even doing tricks like this: trying to pay for transfer by credit card got the idea from conversation between driver and receptionist that they are unhappy about that... surprisingly my card didn't work, was asked to pay cash, of course the card worked fine at all the rest places later - very cheap behavior), bad looking "canal" between the villas; breakfast was below Thailand's 5* average, the beach restaurant is quite small for the breakfast - thus place looked very crowded. All these might be minor issues if the hotel does not want to be upmarket and "Royal" charging almost 500€ per night. Surprisingly lots of children in spite of there are no space and playground for them. Conclusion: if you want upmarket hotel - definitely look for something else for better value for money.
Great room, whirlpool etc Wednesday floating market Location & Free shuttle to Chaweng
Drink prices completely out of sync with environment Beach could do with more regular cleaning
great location, easy access to the airport, chaweng beach, cheong mon beach and boput beach. the hotel beach is perfect and beachsand is better than lamai and chaweng, but narrower. the room is great, except for the noisy aircon.its almost the same with another 5-star hotel I stayed in. staff is considerate and polite. the restuarant needs some imporvement though it stays in top level.
almost everything is fantastic execpet the noisy airconditioner.
Rooms were nice
Beach , mosquitos
we liked everything: fruits upon arrival, breakfast, swimming pool, cleanness of the place, staff. The hotel even prepared a box with breakfast for us when we were checking out. The hotel deserves more than 5 stars. They are doing great job!
wifi: we could connect only on the terrace, the connection was very slow
The price of wines, not the hotels fault its due to 350% taxation, otherwise the bar and minibar prices were more than reasonable.
Amazing room Great breakfast Beautiful beach Location Stuff is caring and always makes sure that everything is as the guest expecting
All the hotel are non smoking , and they don't tell u before check in
Great hotel. The rooms are fantastic and the beach is outstanding. The breakfast is excellent and located right on the beach with great view to the pool and the beach. The staff is so nice and eeveryone always greet you when you meet him. The location is 10 minutes drive to the chawe chaweng beach by taxi and it 300 THB but the hotel provides shuttle 4/5 times a day without charge. The street near by is great with good restaurants. The gym is right what you need for self training. Excellent choice for wonderful vacation!
The housekeeping is not the best but nothing horrible. The area is full of tropic trees so they need to improve the insect protection
The hotel and the rooms are excellent! The staff are super kind!
We got to the hotel as a last recurse, but fell in love! Grwat staff, private beach with water sport and grilled corn. The room (grand deluxe suite) was amazing, huge and with a giant hot tub. We didn't want to go!
Everything was great, maybe besides the TV, that had no verity of channels.
very large and bright rooms with design for wow~ lovely outdoors pavilion to watch over the private swimming pool while reading or smoking very large restroom with separated function area and a big jacuzzi
This hotel was one of about six hotels in this beautiful resort. Firstly, the entrance. It's situated about about 25m from the main road and it's well lit. Unlike some of the others which were situated up to 500m away along an unlit, pot-holed road. The hotel itself is a modern build with high quality materials but they've maintained a distinctive style to it. The quality also extends to the room and the fixtures and fittings. The staff were very courteous and soon adapted to my routine of waking up at about 12:00 and going to the beach. Speaking of the beach, the hotel backs on to it at the perfect location. The beach is a bit rocky at either end, but at this hotel, it's soft, white sand and beautiful, clear, warm water: waist-deep out to about 50m. No problems of children getting out of their depth. About the resort itself. It's centred along one road with lots of shops, pharmacies, 24h 7-11's, quality bars and massage parlours. The restaurants were exceptional, the best I've ever had in Thailand. You can find anything here: full English/American breakfasts, steaks, fish (and chips), Italian and an huge selection of quality Thai dishes. There's no fast food here, it's cooked fresh when your order. The resort does quieten down at about 1am but I found a great cocktail bar that would stay open until 7am if you're a temporary local. If you want the rowdy, tourist night life Chaweng is about 20 minutes down the road. Another place I found was Bangrak, about 20 minutes in the opposite direction. It's full of smaller Thai bars and very few tourists, but of course they make you welcome. I've been to Samui a few times and driven around the island. Taking everything into consideration this area is the best. I can't think how you could possibly go wrong. The hotel would like to know of any improvement they could make. Well, my only suggestion would be to put a dimmer switch on the balcony lights.
The friendly staff, the incredible space in the suites, the overwhelming design of the resort, the tropical forest surrounding our villas, the service..., the price, everything was wonderful
Huge room, amazing pool and great breakfast
The hotel far 10-15 min from Chaweng center, but the shuttle help with that...
nice beach but too much money for what you get
Located in relatively quiet and dreamy ChoengMon area, hotel is really beautifully designed and shelters you from all sorts of unwanted noise and commotion. Staff is very friendly and helping. SPA centre is probably best in whole Samui. Room was great with our own pool, Jacuzzi, lounge and lots of space. Water market was a blast!
Common to Thailand, there were awful lot of insects crawling in and out and no amounts of available protection will actually protect you from anything. Also common to Thailand, staff (and everyone else in general) speaks pretty intermediate english and sometimes it's really hard to understand or communicate.
The suite was amazingly designed, including the pool (although we didn't use much as it was quite cold). Main pool is amazing, good breakfast and i liked the beach / bay.
Very spacious rooms, quiet and relaxing
Private pool is very cold because it is shaded (did not use it), the beach is not very clear, very little beds by the pool (less than 12 beds only, the rest are by the beach), can't seem to find staff by the pool and beach
The suite, the private pool, the common pool, the prices at the bar and restaurant
Too much ferocious mosquitoes, but then the hotel provides with repellent
