The hotel was gorgeous. Located just at the North end of the Lamai strip. The pool was a lovely infinity pool and the setting couldn't be more picturesque as it is literally on the beachfront. Suprisingly there seemed to be hardly any guests so this was a bonus and it made it great to relax. Also being at the quieter end of the lamai strip it definitely made it more chilled.

The only down fall for us was that because the hotel is located on the main road and we happened to have one of the rooms positioned on the roadside of the hotel it was too noisy to sit on our balcony. However we just went and sat by the pool/beach for views late at night which beat any balcony.

Stayed in Sumaya Bura for 6 nights and had the most amazing experiance. The staff is extremely friendly and offer their best advice and assistance to you (esp considering that the locals are unable to speak english). Loved the experiance. Plan to visit this resort again!

The location and the design of the hotel.

Unfriendly staff, uncomfortable beds, the English of staff members is very poor with minimal understanding and unhelpful staff. E.g. at the airport I asked the driver to get me a trolley to place my luggage, he told me to get the trolley myself and drove off.

Great staff in reception and dining room. Very nice pool and beach. Very cousy and home like.

1- Every time the white towels are changed they are in red and yellow colors instead of pure white. 2- When the house keeping make up the room and you ask them to change the pillow sheets they are like sorry but we don’t have sir. 3- The hotel is so quiet for young people. 4- The beach and the pool seats are really limited for a hotel. 5- The bar and restaurant closes by 11 pm.

I like only the beach behind the rest was terrible. The matritz very hard. Very nosy room right on The Main Street. We could not sleep. They request dubelle price in order to move to the same room in the other

The services in the hotel are very room. It is not organized at all. The staff is not helpful at all

Hallway was really noisy at 9am I was trying to sleep and in front of my door was noise from people talking, closing the door loud, children screaming and on top of that somebody turned on TV set really loud that I was hearing it clearly in my room. This was disturbing. Food was not great as well. Breakfast was fine.

Nice reception stuff, however in the resturant nobody knew English. Very nice room and fair price. The pool was not the best. Great location. Overall: very worthwhile!

Hotel design, room was clean and closed to Lamai main road or beach.

First day i'm check in this hotel, the electricity supply was auto shut down for 4hours from 8pm,no air-con at all ,when i asked the receiption lady, what happend ,she don't know anything and not helpful.when i'm used the hotel room torch-light, its can't use, even im ask the hotel staff ,their also don't know how to use it. After raining ,my room(211) corridor will keep water an just wet, nobody clean-up.The important thing is my room bed, when i sleep, just like on the rock, can't sleep well for whole night.last thing is hotel breakfast not much choice.

Eveything. Staff especially friendly and helpful, moved us to better room when tour group moved in next room to us. Pool, breakfast and facilities wonderful. Fantastic view from seaview room.

Hotel is nice but could be better if they changed a few things as described below.

Wi-fi -> I believe charging your for using wifi in a hotel is absolutely ridiculous, especially when you are paying a much higher rate than any other hotel in the region. Shower -> There was no shower in our room, only a bathtube. Also water only came out extremely hot, it was impossible to change. Breakfast -> Also not great. Few options. You would expect better service from a hotel apparantely nice.

We booked for 7 nights as the photos on the internet looked great. We got there and we lasted 1 night. We were put on the main road and there was traffic all night! The bed was like a rock and the morning shower was cold water. Next day we booked out and stayed at Buddy Oriental - so much better and away from the main road!

Good value for the price. But don't expect that you will have nice beach close to the hotel. Hotel beach is with many rocks, completelly not suitable for swimming. We rented a scooter to get to Lamai beach - beach as you expected. 5 mins drive to the nice beach. Otherwise hotel is very good, excellent breakfast, staff OK.

The Samaya Bura was one of the best hotels i've ever stayed in. Not only was the hotel Beautiful and very very affordable but the staff were some of the nicest people we meet whilst traveling around Thailand. The hotel was immaculate all the time, the food was lovely and very well priced. We stayed as a group of 6 with 4 other friends visiting from other hotels who were also made welcome each evening by samaya bura's staff, to stay by our pool, eat with us and have drinks. We would like to make a special thanks to Sonny who worked within the hotels restaurant/Bar, he went out of his way, and showed us around samui and made us feel like his true friends. A truly memorable holiday, I hope one day to return. Thank you

Samaya Bura was a beautiful place to stay and I would def recommened to anyone that wants a chilled relaxing break, It was only 5 minutes away from the main part of Koh Samui ( Chewang ) The hotel staff were great and the pool was lovely , food really good and prices of drinks really good, some friends of ours stayed just a few hotels up the beach and the prices there were a considerable amount more than Samaya. Our room was lovely & clean overall a fantastci place to stay

Petit déjeuner modeste mais en bord de plage le seul point positif de cet hôtel laisser à l'abandon

Des notre arrivée nous avons changé 2x de chambre puis encore une fois en cours de séjour pour des problèmes d'électricité, de baignoire et encore d'électricité. Nous avons finalement opté pour un chambre plus cher mais dans cette dernière le minibar ne fonctionnait pas mais ils l'ont changé. Bruyant heureusement nous n'étions pas côté route Plage impraticable Déplacement pour lamai par la plage pas possible car cela implique un passage dans le égouts (à ciel ouvert) du village
