In Old Bangkok, Prince Palace Hotel is right above Bo Bae Tower - a wholesale clothing market. Overlooking Mahanak Canal, the hotel offers an outdoor pool and 8 dining options.
Score from 1612 reviews Good
Quite luxurious, especially by European standards and European prices. Recommended if you want a hassle-free, very comfortable stay in Bangkok
Some other reviews commented on the noise and it's true I could hear some of the noise from the boats but it didn't bother me and didn't prevent me from sleeping.
This Hotel is really very nice. The roof pool is nice, the terace restaurant at the river has good food and it's nice to chill there, the personnel is very friendly and it is located in the center of the city. Wlan is working fast and in the complete area. It's a bit noisy in the evening due to live Music in the pubs on the street but they stop at 12pm. And it's not as loud as for example in the Kao San road is (which is horrible, do not book a hotel there!). Next time I go here again!
The big room, the sightseeing from the roof swimming pool.... The kindness of the staff and the location of the hotel
Really for this standing the wi fi connection is really bad. You have to check in all the time and the speed is very low. More than 3mn to have my mails. Even the 3G was faster! These days it's really a bad point.
Perfect position near the boat, near kaosan rd, near museum, grand palace etc... Pool on the top Clean Nice staff
Really nothing (We had a room facing on the street, they said us before about the noise from the bar accross the street, the noise was not nice but it stopper at midnight also in the we, so was not a big problem)
The location right next to the Chao Praya River is why I choose this hotel. Ask for a room towards the river and on the highest floor available. Between cruising up & down the river on the public boats for 15 THB & using the Sky train you can easily get anywhere in Bangkok. If you take a cab before Noon there's not much traffic. Enjoy! Bangkok is a Meca of art, music, food, theater, silk tailors, of course China Town. . . you name it, you can find it there!!
This area is very popular and alittle on the touristy side.
Friendly staff, nice swimming pool on rooftop, good location near to rambutri street and khao san and the pier for water taxi right behind the hotel
Our room was noisy near street side with a bar with live music each night.
Nice, clean rooms Super location Helpful and nice staff Very nice buffet/breakfast
Very helpful staff Nice clean rooms Super location Value for the money We have been here several times
Near the river.
When we arrived, we thought "lets find somewhere else"! but when we got inside the place was very nice. Staff were helpful. Very clean and tidy. Good breakfast and access staught onto the pier for travelling up/down the river by boat bus. Some people reported no WiFi but we both got on and it was fairly quick. Lots of shops and food eateries around.
The first view looks like it is a hostal but the entrance is around the side. Once you get in, you will be pleasantly surprised
Room was a good size, clean at least.
Air conditioner broken twice in one night leaking water all over the room (which one of us slipped over on). Room faced a busy road with loud music playing until after midnight. Staff didn't care, wouldn't allow us to move rooms or compensate for injury/lack of sleep.
2nd time here and didn't disappoint. pool on roof nice, staff friendly and helpful, comfortable room
2nd time here and room rate almost doubled.
Good location, with nice pool
The rooms were basic & not good value for money, decor look tired in places, disappointed as we were expecting a bit more luxury for the price, definitely not a place to go for a special occasion
Bangkok is so spread out that you need to pick the area of your interest to pick your hotel. We liked the location of this hotel since it was very close to Khaosan Road, the port for the boats is right under the hotel, nice good restaurants nearby. We had free water everyday, room was clean. Staff is nice. They keep your luggage if your flight is after check out.
After traveling for the last month through Southeast Asia, I didn't feel this was a 4 star hotel. We were expecting a lot more. Room was dark and small. The sink wasn't working properly, curtains were dirty and with holes on it. Internet wasn't very good and we had to sign in every time you access internet. A pain in the neck if you loose your pin. There is a bar across the street and our room balcony faced that bar that its music was extremely loud until late hours. Staff was nice but when asking for suggestions in specific restaurants were short on suggestions. And what to me was the cherry on top was that the showers they let us use after check out, were the ones at the swimming pool, that had no privacy at all. I just said this because hotels with less stars let us do the same with nice private showers.
Proximity to temples and Khao San Road Clean rooms and facilities
Location difficult to get to on transit View from room was awful and not as described
Very high noice When living in the rooms that face the street.
taste of Thailand
the building look from outside is not encouraging
Stayed here for a few days. Nice, pool is open from 8am to 8pm. A lot if restaurants and bars around, right next to the boat pier.
After 10pm you wont get there without a cab, but cabs are cheap.
the terrace at riverside
some staff not particular precent
linited TV chanel with out sport one
Location, balcony in room, room big enough
bed not confortable, all furniture getting a bit too old, TV very small, too small pool and not enjoyable / location-design of the pool
The location of very good, either next to the boat pier, lots of good food around, large room space for Thailand
Slippery balcony after it rained
- river view is very nice (the option upper floors is better!) - City view is probably very noisy - some restaurants and bars just accross the road. Both are available in the hotel too.
Returned back to the Navalai again after only 3 Months, this time to take my Son with us, who was visiting from the UK. The Hotel itself is in an excellent location, right on the riverfront, but just go across the road at the back of it & there are numerous bars & restaurants to choose from, eventually leading down to the infamous Khao San Road. The rooftop pool area is a great way to chill out, after a day of sightseeing & gives you excellent views of the City. Will definitely be returning back for another visit in the near Future.
Very limited parking available, but once again the staff endeavored to make sure we managed to get a spot.
