Friendliness of staff and willingness to help. Pool facilities were a nice comfort. Good breakfast and pretty decent coffee :)
The tour we booked through the hotel promised a tuk tuk and instead sent a taxi. This was our only complaint. All else was impressive
great location lovely pool clean and tidy great staff
bed was like a rock
what you thought was vegetarian food for breakfast often contained meat..ie fried rice macaroni cheese etc.
Lovely friendly staff, helped us with bags and explained to the taxi driver where we wanted to go. Handy location, near enough to Khao San Road but not right on it, with all the usual/essentail amenities on Samsen Road itself: 7 eleven, Massage, Cheap Suits, Bars and Restaurants.
The hotel is difficult to find as there are two hotels within the same hotel so it is called something like "Nuovo City Hotel" which meant we took ages going round the houses with a Thai taxi driver who spoke no English trying to find it, not a great start to the holiday. Pleasantly surprised at how fancy the lobby looked, very warm welcome only to be greeted with confused looks from the check in staff, who pointed us over to another, shabbier looking reception desk about 10 feet away. Apparently both Nuovo City Hotel and New World Lodge operate out of the same building so we had to go and check in at the other hotel's desk. Room smelt of damp and smoke. The hotel is being renovated so very dusty and you had to take a back route through the construction areas to the room. The room was really basic and dated, the shower flooded the room and had rubbish water pressure, was quite cold and smelt eggy. I'm sure the toiletries were used. Our room cost £25 a night, which I thought was too much considering you can stay at Chillax resort on the same street for only an extra £15 a night and you have a spa bath, rooftop pool, beautiful bedrooms etc.
location esp to night market and local food
Need to check electrical outlets n airconditioning as one or two not working Otherwise ok
Availability to tasty yet reasonably priced halal food, friendly staff who were always eager to help
No skytrain station nearby
1.good islamic environment, 2.near to the mosque, 3.halal food.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Location was perfect to be within the hustle and bustle of the city. Great starting place coming to the city!
Location was excellent, five minutes walk to khosan road.7-11 next door bars and restaurants on the door step.
Room a bit dated but were being upgraded while we were there
The rooms are huge and cool , ones facing the canal on the 4th floor have a large balcony too
Clean, comfortable, space - all the facilities of (more star) hotel but at budget price
Nothing to dislike
Spacious room, and breakfast was very good. The hotel is located at a convenient place, easy to visit Bangkok on foot. Water boiler and large fridge were available, which is very convenient. Staff is very friendly.
The room smelled of bit of 'old smoke', and the airconditioning was quite noisy. The hotel looks a bit 'old', but everything works well.
breakfast was great....mainly because the hotel dining room was being repaired and I had breakfast at the Nouvo hotel...adjacent to this hotel.
Most everything. Poor service at the front desk. Charges of a dollar a day for holding a bag for a few days while I was away on a tour. Charges for the use of the lobby computer...no other hotel in all of south east Asia charged for computer use. There was no hot water in the sink in the toilet. The only hot water was in the shower....and it wasn't always hot. The shower was part of the toilet...so every time I took a shower it wet the whole floor in bathroom. No matter how expensive or inexpensive it was....it was not worth the money...whatever the room cost.
Taped up shower heads, cracked and messy walls. Uncomfortable beds. Very overpriced for what we got. More money put into the entrance than into the facilities.
the location is quite quaint and unobtrusive in away. You can get in and out of the intensity of Kao San road in just few minutes walk.
Old TV and not so good reception
The maid, location and WIFI.
We have stayed in this hotel twice: It was very clean and the staff were impeccable in both stays.
The first time we stayed there we had a problem with noise at night and the shower couldn't get hot enough. But the second time, everything was ok, so it depends on the bedroom.
Very central location away from the sex tourism Bangkok is renowned for. In the little café attached to the hotel I can thoroughly recommend a quality milk shake. Great breakfast.
A nearby sewer made the location a bit smelly.
Good sized room with lots of storage. Wireless connection in the room was good. Very helpful guy at reception who really helped us plan our few days in Bangcock
Bathroom was very dated. Aircon was rather noisey
Very old noisy aircon .
10 minutes from river. 5 minutes from khosan Street. Excellent location vs prices. staff very familiar and speaking English well. special discount for all tours and very good services if you reserved from the hotel
Toilets is good but it needs to some renewal
Wonderful staff, very friendly and helpful. Great location walking distance from Khao san rd. Good variety at the breakfast buffet. Clean and comfortable
Good location about 10 mins walk from Khao San Rd in a quiet traveller friendly area. Rooms are not new - but generally facilities are good. Comfortable beds with extras such as bathrobes etc which don't normally appear in this price range. Buffet breakfast is excellent.
We were given a room at the back of the hotel overlloking a wall!! Ask for a room at the front if you can.
Nice location next to a canal and there were good restaurants nearby. Close to the river for the river ferries and the Palace and National Museum. A part of the city without demonstrations.
Apart from the River Ferries it was not so accessible to other public transport other than buses.
- big room - location: some of the main attractions are at walking distance (Grand Palace, Golden Mountain). Near Khaosan Road were you can find food, bars, restaurants and shops. - I think they are "rebuilding" the hotel because there was an old and a new part. The new part looked much better in comparison with the old part but the price will surely be higher. (Didn't check that by the way). The new part is called Nuovo City Hotel and I think it is a matter of time before the whole hotel is rebuild and renamed.
- not that it bothered us but in comparison with the big room, the bathroom looked dated and was small. - in the canal in front of the hotel floats a lot of plastic. This does not look good, but then again: they drop their garbage everywhere, so....
