It is very sad, that this could be a great place, if the management/owners would put a bit more work into it. The biggest problem is the location, be aware that you need to walk for nearly 2 km to reach the nearest beach. The distance in itself is not a problem, but the fact that there is no space for pedestrians on the road is a huge limitation. You basically end up walking on the road next to busy traffic street (cars, big tourist buses), the grass fields next to the street are full with plastic and trash and can be quite smelly. Also keep in mind, that even early in the morning it can be quite hot, so it is not very pleasant to walk next to a dirty road for 20-30 min to finally reach the beach. Tuk-tuks to Nopparattara beach cost around 100-150 baht. We did not feel comfortable with riding bikes to the beach, because of the traffic and the condition of their bikes. There is only one small local restaurant across the road, it was very fine for us, but if you want to have more options for eating out, maybe you should be somewhere closer to the beach. We choose this place, because we thought, that it will be really quiet, far away from the touristy stuff, but 600 meters from Nopparattara Beach (a blatant lie!!!). Yes, it was far away from the touristy stuff AND the beach, but it was not quiet at all, the street next to it ensures traffic noise at least in the cottages, which are closes to the road and where you might end up if you are not lucky. We had only icy cold shower water at the beginning and we had to ask twice in order for the problem to be fixed. We tried to use the shuttle only once (from Ao Nang back to the hotel), but it simply did not come without any explanation, despite the fact that we let them know that we will take it back from Ao Nang, luckily they refunded us the tuk-tuk. We ended up having to specifically ask for everything, which we had paid for.
The bed was very comfortable. The pool is amazing, best pool on our entire trip! The view is great and the overall design of the park is very neat. The nearest beach: Nopparattara beach, was pretty nice and not touristy at all, much nicer than Ao nang in our opinion. Some of the staff members are very friendly. The outside bathroom is pretty nice, but of course since it is open, there might be insects, we had a huge cockroach the first evening, but well this is normal for hot countries.
