This was a truly delightful experience to stay in such a charming hotel yet be so close to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok - just a boat ride away! Polite and helpful staff, lovely breakfast and lunch at the poolside on the river bank, large comfortable room with authentic decor and a picture-pretty garden - highly recommended to the more discerning traveller.
Nothing not to like!
The boutique nature of the hotel, excellent breakfast and dinner, boat crossing!
Liked it all!
Staff were very helpful and gave us a wonderful reception on arrival. It was a tranquil haven from the hustle and bustle of Bangkok. A great place to unwind in between exploring the city. Breakfast was very good and a relaxing start to the day. Will definitely return on any future trips to Bangkok.
Staff very courteous Location - quick private boat Breakfast setting on the river Clean room Stable Wifi with good coverage
AC wasn't the best - unresponsive remote Shower was weak
Staff were excellent very friendly and helpful. Location is great. Perfect place to come back to after a hectic day in Bangkok.
Very nice place but you are paying more for the location rather than luxury. Drinks are expensive for example small singha & coffee was over 400. On the whole quirky property, excellent location but personally feel could get value else where.
A tranquil oasis in the middle of Bangkok, The food alone is worth the trip .
Maybe a bit too quiet in restaurant but cannot let this deter you . Really is some of the best food I have eaten
The staff were very accommodating The hotel was quiet The hotel was safe The hotel was accessible only to guests and authorized persons The food was good
No screens on the windows meant coming home with multiple mosquito bites The cabs to and from the pier were horrible. You either couldn't get a cabby to take you anywhere or bring you back to the hotel, or they wanted to charge outrageous prices
Location, right on the river. Lovely gardens filled with tropical flowers, nice pool and full of birdlife. Away from the incredible noise and bustle of Bangkok. Great history in the property and a real Venetian palazzo - quite incredible really. Food was fantastic - both Thai and Western dishes. We stayed in the Junior Suite which was huge, and comfortable, with all windows opening onto the beautiful green trees.
Wine list was excellent, but way too expensive. Didn't match the prices of the food. Our bed was large, and very comfortable, but unbelievably squeaky, along with the floorboards. We were ok, being on the first floor, but I was worrying about the guests below us!
Just a wonderfull place, a real oasis in the middle of historical center. WOW
The wifi was pretty poor. However that was well compensated by all the rest.
The staff were truly magnificient. Friendly, attentive and really wanted to ensure our stay was perfect. I was little concern that having to take a boat across to/from the hotel would be cumbersome but it was a pleasure. I actually looked forward to the 4 minute ride home across the water each night. So don't worry about that if that was concerning you Definitely take a canal tour (the front desk can sort for you) it was eye opening!! Pool was beautiful. A wonderful stay here.
Fantastic location and beautiful building. Very calming place to spend our last night.
Perhaps it was the indirect impact of the hotel being almost empty and the Bangkok curfew but the staff seemed highly polite but also a bit clueless. There were notable exceptions to this. Our evening meal was a bit of a shambles unfortunately and we had to complain, which we'd rather not do.
Great little romantic hotel. Pool is great and staff are extremetly friednly and helpful. Although the hotel is accessed by boat, the boat service is 24h and you are given a cell phone on arrival to make sure you can contact the hotel. Room is large and all appliance work properly. Air con is silent. Bathroom amenities are great. Wifi works great and is present in the pool, restaurant, rooms etc.
The bathroom is not well designed with no shower curtain. Result: flooded toilet each time someone showers. Drinks are rather pricey and food, although tasty and well cooked, could be better for the price. Breakfast is a bit boring after the second day.
The atmosphere of Old Italian Style is nice, as Italian I can feel like to be in Venice in the beginning of the Century. Nice room
Room is very, very small. For a 5500 baht price you can get really better around the town. The corkage charge was a joke : they ask me 800 baht (30 Us Dollar) for a bottle I bring for the BD of my wife... Come on, I stay in the Suite and you charge me the corkage? I think the management must do something about it. Restaurant very expensive.
The hotel is very nice. The staff is the best.
The swimming pool is next to the restaurant which people from outside the hotel are fully dressed and having dinner next to it. There's no privacy here if you want to swim in the late afternoon / evening. Imagine you're almost naked and people who are having dinner next to you are dressing properly.
the Hotel is unique, swimming pool is beautiful and the staff are helpful.
the night shift staff on our checkout night informed us about the taxi and asked us to pay it so we paid him 1000 Baht for 2 taxis, on the morning of the departure, the taxi driver cherged us for another 1000 Baht, when we asked the hotel staff he said that he thought it was a tip!!!! 1000 Baht tip!!! disappointing!
All thing are great, got room upgrade, staffs are friendly .... Great view during the night ... Nice food and interesting building history ... 24 hours shuttle boat service ... I would love to go back to this place again
Good service! And nice location and they picked up us by a boat which is very special. Quite place down by riverside, great environment with trees and birds.
Lovely place by river, pretty gardens & pool. Good breakfast.
Room very noisy, thin walls & squeaky floorboards. Sounded like next people were in with us. Toilet & washbasin needed attention.
Private hotel boat 24 hour Great view Close to flower market Old historical building with a lots memory
Breakfast is really poor, kitchen stuff not really speak english Food is overprice Poor wi-fi connection
A lovely hotel with pleasant, helpful staff. The garden and pool area were delightful and the room was cool and quiet.
There was a problem with the taxi which was meant to take us out to the airport. It didn't appear and we had to hail one on the street. All a bit stressful. Wine was very expensive.
Most beautiful place to stay if you like to discover Bangkok. On the other side of the river but with a private boat to bring you to the other side whenever you want, also in the evening. The whole building is beautiful, the rooms spacious and bathrooms very good. The employees more than helpful and very kind. Coming back from the hectic of Bangkok you can spoil yourself at the swimming pool and in a tropical garden to enjoy the peacefulness of Praya Palazzo.
Extremely friendly staff, arriving by boat is great fun. Beautiful hotel, the rooms are more spacious than they look in the website photos, and are very nicely decorated. Would definitely recommend.
No fresh juice Quality of the food medium
This is a perfect location for seeing Bangkok. Gardens, view, birds, flowers...across the river from all there is to do in the city. The hotel boat runs you back and forth. We were helped by the staff at every turn...even when it came to getting to the train station during a protest. When we got off the boat each time, there was someone to greet us and say welcome home, and it felt like we were home. Oh, the food in the restaurant was fabulous.
Wine was expensive.
the mansion is charming and the bed is comfortable.
-Pool area is very limited, only 4-5 loungers available. - we both got really sick after having breakfast at the hotel. So be careful what you eat and drink there. -The hotel has its character and charm but it's not worth the price we paid for in comparison to Siam Kempinski hotel, The Grand Hyatt or the St Regis where we also stayed during a 2 week trip in BKK. The room rate is not much different but the service and the room are a lot more luxury in another 3 hotels that we stayed.
