The views were amazing!
+ Beautiful bungalow, I loved the fresh smell of lemon, comfortable bed, rain shower, lots of light-lovely, they offer you a flashlight, a bag with flip flops, 2 beach towels and even a huge bamboo mat for the beach + The hotel itself is clean and you'll find yourself in the middle of exotic flowers and really nice arranged pathways, you can see the monkeys jumping from tree to tree right in front of the bungalow, squirrels, birds, it would be paradise if there wouldn't be the longtail boats + Its quiet but quite a walk from everything: 7mins to last bar, 30 min to Railay West, 50min to Tonsai (go there it's the only quiet beach that's left of Railey), 25min to Phranang beach + free wifi that works in all aeras of the hotel
- The noise from the longtail boots destroys the whole idyll - we stayed there 3 nights and it was never quiet, from 7am till 10pm or even 2am in the morning you will have to deal with noises between the sound of a mower and one of a helicoper all of the time, it is unbearable! - The hotel staff at the check in and the restaurant speak really little english, they forgot our papaya salad and wanted to charge more since they don't even know which meals they offer in their menu - On weekends when more guests were arriving there is more variety at breakfast and the prizes for ice cream at the mini mart suddenly were higher (from 40 to 50 baht) - The pool is not the prettiest and they only have 10 sun beds for all the guests - there is a shuttle that takes and picks you up from ao nammao pier for free though the times were not very useful: at 5:30 pm and at 8:30 pm they will pick you up from the pier - so if you have a late check in wait for the Great View resort boat at the long bridge (noone told us that even though I've written a few emails ahead)
The chalet is mind-blowing
I had to walk a bit to other spots. Manageable though.
The view, the room the pool
My suggestion would be that there are clearer instructions when you book on how to get there. If you get the wrong pier you must walk a very long way to get there!
All in all it was dreamed place to be: - location - in the quite area far away from everything - staff - very helpful and friendly - comfort & cleanliness - room was cleaned everyday and it was pretty new - views - shower with sea view, balcony with sea view! Just perfect - breakfast - tasty with great sea view
- we had few different animals visiting our small house: lizard, cockroachs & monkeys but when you live inside the forest I assume it is acceptable and quite normal - loudly boats around - believe it is something that you need to accept in case you want to live by the sea, so that was not a problem for us
The location is great, the view is amazing. The rooms are very nice and comfortable.
The room had mice, the last 2 nights we didn't sleep at all.
Very poor experience & very expensive! Was expecting something special but was really let down
Far from from Railay East(15-20 mins walk), and for 2 people in good shape it was quite a climb to get to our rooms
because is far away from everything is a silent place.
Insects like cockroaches and other bugs were easy to find in our "delux" accomodation. no working internet
The beach is not the best.
The cottage was really nice and clean. The natural environment was great and emotional. The staff was friendly and efficient.
The wi fi connection was poor and working only in the rooms close to the reception. The free boat from/to Railay West and the resort was not so frequent, it hasn't been easy to reach the Resort. Our comfort was disturbed by the noisy boats passing close to the Resort during day and night.
Localization-this is the last hotel of the bay so there are not so many turists going there. If you want to have peace and quiet holidays this is a good place. Close to restaurants and shops.
Breakfasts were not good-everyday the same food and hard to eat anything apart from fruits or cereal. Restaurant is not good for eating dinners either. Lack of a beach-only when the tide goes out you can go to not very sandy beach by the hotel.
Nice pool, and being a 10 to 15 min walk away from the main shops and cafes, created a more isolated and very relaxing atmosphere.
Restaurant food was below average in most cases, but breakfast was fine. For dinner, I would definitely recommend eating outside, we often ate at the restaurant of another hotel about 15 minute walk away.
The rooms are clean and a good size and have a nice rural feel to them. The pool is very nice and there are some amazing views from here and the restaurant. The resort is a little out the way from the main part of Railay but as long as you don't mind a ten minute walk uphill this isn't a problem. Breakfast is pretty standard for what you expect across Thailand, mixture between some thai and some continental.
The staff didn't seem very eager to help and didn't appear to understand customer service. We asked for a late checkout as we didn't fly until very late that day but they were very unwilling to provide this and only did so after a bit of an argument. Saying that the restaurant staff were nice but the reception did put a but of a dampener in our stay. The resort is very hilly and not suitable for anyone elderly or with walking disabilities and this isn't made clear before booking. It's absolutely fine if you don't mind a short walk uphill and the views certainly make up for it.
Beautiful sceneries and view, great pool and room!
15minutes walk from railay east so when you have to carry luggage is really tiering! When we asked if somone could carry our luggage back they charge us 200 bahts! The food in the restaurant very poor and expensive!
View and flexibility of the staff.
Restaurant was really bad, no bar at the hotel. The pool was cleaned with too much chlorine and no good beach area near the hotel.
Worst location, room full of bugs, noisy at nights, staff that are not helpful
Everything was great
The only negative point is the location of the hotel which is a bit far away from the Railay beach and not easily accessible.
Immersed in nature, quiet
20 min walk to shops and beaches, floor never cleaned in 3 days
Resort was fine, service was friendly (most of the time) but poor (most of the time).
With respect for all religions but it's for me to decide if I want to drink a beer or a glass of wine, not the resort management. If the resort has a problem serving alcohol, they should mention this clearly in advance. During the 8 day stay we were able to order a alcoholic drink only twice. Pooltowels were not always available.
Great view, very clean, hotel restaurant was great.
A little bit of a walk from the other restaurants and activities but if you are looking to be secluded this is perfect.
Great location,well decorated
Insects in the room..not friendly stuff
Maximum comfort, stunning seaview from the bed, amazing place in nature with many animals (snake, monkeys, frog, reptiles) and great breakfasts.
It is a little far for walking to railay west or phranang beach.
Booked for two, stayed seven nights. Moved from cottage no. 1 to one higher up the hill. Got to negotiate the same price, despite the approaching xmas seasons rise. Nicest staff, takes patience to communicate, though :-) Great view from some of the cottages. Good breakfast buffet, great view The place is a 10 Min stroll away from the Railay east bars and shops, which is a welcome fact. You pass by the coasline, once we even saw a group of a rather rare monkeys (the ones with the white rings around the eyes). Also, along the was lays Mr. Dee's lovely lounge bar (coolest view at sunset, few guests only though, so calm) where he gives cooking classes as well.
Noise level at Railay beach due to boat motors beyond reason. Not the hotel's fault, though. Cottage No. 1 is just next to the pool. If guests decide to enjoy a drink late at night, you hear every word they speak. Little animal living in cottage roof - rotten leaves dropping every day into bathroom. Staff knows but doesn't seem to bother.
The surroundings around the bungalows are quite impressive, getting that "in middle of the jungle" vibe, and with the wild life all around... if looking for "gettaway from civilization time/love and shack mood" it's perfect! Great pool/deck/views
Breakfast could be improved, and the free shuttle boat is a good treat but not that reliable (although is just 20mt walk from Railay West, with great views, so if without bags ok, but forget it if you tight on time...) The accesses for the bungalows are too steep and slippery when wet, so if not in the Railay climbing mood for your vacation, you wont get an easy stay...
