Excelent choice, excelente location! It is expensive, but it worth all the Bahts. It is a really quiet place where you can relax. And the hotel is sorrounded by all that natural beauty!
Be prepared to get in and off the boat with your bag in your shoulder. Otherwise you and your travel bag will get wet! I suggest a bagback.
Hotel has everything you need for a trip to Railay beach
Wifi was poor - maybe due to volume of users
Excellent place to avoid hectic schedule. Relaxing and rejuvenating.
Wifi connection is not good.
The pool The clean, big room
Blocked shower Restaurant food was average
Location and staff
Needed to use wifi. Was shoddy at best. Impossible to get in room. Had to go to lobby which was terribly inconvenient.
-friendly staff -private rooms (villas) -beautifully maintained grounds -beautiful and clean pools -nice breakfast -excellent location
-wifi was spotty and unreliable at times
The location is great (but that is not hard since Railay is rather small) There are two pools which were nice and the rooms are very big.
Whole family got food poisoning after eating in the resort restaurant - spent 2 days vomiting like crazy (and this is after over 2 weeks in Thailand without an incident). WIFI in the rooms is not working - only in the lobby. Rooms are in serious need of a renovation - not even a drawer for clothes in the room. Rooms are dirty and the cleaning crew aren't really cleaning - after a day of vomiting we requested the room cleaned - we found the same pillows with vomit from the kid still in the infant bed - When I call to complain I'm told that the cleaners are busy and that I should call again in 3 hours. Stay away
The resort is private, quiet, and beautiful. Comfy bed linens, huge room that is a stand alone home, nice buffet breakfast, and gorgeous pools. I loved lying by the back pool and taking the sites and sounds. Very clean and the landscaping is well maintained and gorgeous. The staff were nice enough and attentive to needs. Cheap mini bar. GREAT location. Close to everything but didn't feel like you were in the busy section. Again, very quiet. Great coffee bar on site. Gave us fruit in our room everyday. Nice touch.
The bed was too hard. The shower head was a little clogged so the pressure could have been better. Wish that there had been unlimited bottled water. The Wifi was spotty at best. Slow when it worked. Wish that staff had greeted us at the boat with a cart for the luggage. Better information for nearby, recommended restaurants.
- railay village resort is located right on railay west beach, which is DEFINITELY better than railay east (not possible to swim here). - breakfast was quite good, had a wide option of food...and the view is great - the property overall is very nice. it has two swimming pools and something like 25 villas and 24 standard rooms, which are the ones by the pool. we stayed in a villa and it was very nice. - the staff was helpful and friendly
- the a\c was not always working properly - the internet was very slow - the tv didnt have a many channels, especially in english..but it was okay.
This resort has lush grounds and is in a wonderful location with easy access to both sides of Railay. The pool was beautiful, our bungalow was lovely, and the breakfast was nice. We liked the bucket and dipper for foot-washing at our entrance!
Sheets could have been changed (we were there for 4 nights), but then again, we didn't ask.
Great beach location Nice food Nice swimming pool Good central location
Room needed to be cleaned better, a little dirty. Complimentary coffee was never replaced after first use. Lack of clothing storage areas in bedroom.
Resort and location are amazing. Staff friendly
Rooms need a tiny amount of decoration fresh lick of paint would finish the rooms as perfect.
The place is directly on the beach and a long boat can bring you close if the tide is in. Room was a good size and the bed was firm. Prices for food and drink were not very high. Was good to be able to walk out the end of the hotel to the east side of the island as it leads directly to the pier on that side. East goes to Ao Nammamao (700 baht) West to Ao Nang (1600 baht).
Breakfast was limited in offerings. Dinner on xmass eve was inconsistent. We did not order all at the same time but as a former waiter I would have held the order until all have placed in order to get them to the table together.
Lovely, friendly staff , beautiful location
Difficult to get a long tail boat to the resort, they are reluctant to take you unless you are 8 or more
Incredible location. West beach is preferred to east beach during low tide. Villas were spacious and great value.
Accomodation was great, spacious rooms! Pool was enjoyable and clean. Beautiful resort on a great location!! The service was great and the staff was very helpfull.
Breakfast could be better, but was ok.
A really nice pool & friendly staff
In our 4 day stay the toilet blocked twice & the shower & sink blocked once each, the plumbing desperately needs upgrading. The air con was so noisy even after the maintenance came out twice to fix it we could still not sleep at night with it on.
You have to get off the ferry at sea on to a long tail boat with 23kg suitcases and then struggle off the long tail boat into the sea to waist height with heavy suitcase and then wheel it through wet sand, with no help from hotel staff whatsoever. We did it in a monsoon which happened every Nov afternoon for 2-3 hours.
Location was great! We really enjoyed our stay here (November 2014). Our room was clean and very nice and spacious. Our group had a villa and a pool view room and both were very nice! If you have read the reviews, you probably are aware that to get to this resort, you have to take a boat and often times have to get out in water and carry your luggage to shore. We were well prepared for this so transportation was very simple. Going to back to the airport we set it up with the hotel and it was very convenient and nice. If or when I go back to Railay, I would definitely re-book this same hotel.
Breakfast was okay...not great but definitely was a nice added benefit.
Location Staff Accommodation Spa
the location was excellent and the breakfast was very good. The staff was very accommodating & they provided daily fruit & bottled water. It also had a spa and one of the loveliest pools I have ever seen.
It has nothing to do with hotel as the exquisite setting is jungle & with it come mosquitos but a little spray & you r good.
We like the location, the people, easy access to halal foods surrounding, nice beaches and the outdoor activities:-canoeing, island hoping, rock climbing, jungle tracking etc. Sure I will come back to Railey in future.
Hotel did not to provide a proper and better shuttle from the airport. When we arrived at the airport we took a public cab that took me to a place to take boat to the hotel. We were made to wait for about 40 minutes for the boat, when boat arrived it was a low tide and we have to take off our shoes & carry our heavy luggages walking through the muddy beach and into the water to get to the boat without any help from potter or boat man....this is something that we dont expect and were not told when we placed our booking. Suggest hotel to provide potter to carry guest luggage or use other means of transporting guest to the hotel without going into the water.
The swimming pool.
They forgot to pick us up at the airport. We had agreed the pick up via email and we were waiting for more than half an hour at the airport, we phoned and they told us that it was not their problem, that there was no email. When I showed the email sent to the receptionist and she checked it, she told me that she was sorry but no compensation at all (we had to pay for the call and for a full boat to the resort for my wife and myself instead of two tickets because we were late and it was night). Another thing that I didn´t like was the number of bugs in the room. They could use bug killer when cleaning or something like that.
Staff Breakfast Facilities
Dinner - too expensive for what was available
On the western beach in Railay, which is frankly the only beach to stay on....as the east side is a muddy dump with mangroves and heavily tidal. Excellent rooms, kept very clean.
Staff could be friendlier. No alcohol served on this resort, although you can bring your own.
