Mosquitoes were a slight problem. WIFI worked intermittently particularly in the rooms but better WIFI was achieved outside in the open corridors...
The ambiance and setting was typical Lanna style. Our room was a deluxe room with personal spa bath and it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff at reception were extremely helpful and understanding.
Far from the old city center.
Helpfull staff, confortable room and a good pool and restaurant.
The location of this hotel is about 10-15 mins by car from centre. Mr Lucky owns three vehicles parked outside the hotel and is supported by his wife and two sons. Both Mr Lucky and his two sons speak English. He is an excellent guide and can transport you to the centre and also arrange all days tours for 2,000 baht both to the north and south of the city. Ask for Mr Lucky and you will not be disappointed. For this reason also we were pleased to have chosen this hotel.
The kind of colleague tourists, tattoos etc.
We had booked this hotel for 6 nights convinced by its quiet location outside the city. Upon arrival we were taken to our superior deluxe room which did not look bad, but it had no window!!! As we did not want to stay in a dark whole they proposed a room on the 5 th floor of the main building with 2 tiny balconies. The bed had an old worn out matrass and the curtain in the bathroom was so filthy that we were soaking it overnight in the bathtube to get the brownish marks and mold out of it. Altogether the rooms of the mainbuilding urgently need to undergo a total renovation as their best days have passed a long time ago. The housekeeping also was one of the most unqualified you can think of, not giving new towels or toiletries. We had to ask twice for it. The elevator was full of hand marks to the point that I asked them to please have it cleaned. This was done, but only to a certain height as they probably had a small staff member taking care of it. Yet the red carpet was replaced by a blue one ... The quality of the chairs around the 2 swimming pools was very shabby and only 1 single, half broken umbrella available for the 2 pools! Breakfast was not bad and the service was good, although the eggs always were cold as not really kept warm properly. If you were sitting to the inner side with the bamboo wall, you got the very bad small from some standing water beneath. We never had just a negative experience so far in Thailand and decided to check out 2 days prior to our reservation, loosing one night charged for penalty. However we are happy we made that decision and don't regret it at all as,we found a fantastic place just 20 km outside of Chiangmai.
The geographical situation of the place and quiet at night, if your neighbour was not spaeking too loud.
Can't think of any negatives! Would recommend to anyone.
The staff were very warm and helpful. The room (luxury double room) was very spacious and comfortable with a desk/chair and a comfortable chair in the room. The large sunken tub in the fully enclosed courtyard opening off the room was much appreciated after a long day sightseeing. There are several areas around the hotel and grounds where you can relax. The wifi was great. Loved the open sided dining area/restaurant. Great choices for breakfast and the lunch/dinner choices were also good. While not close to the old city it was perfect as you were able to escape to a peaceful location away from the rush of the tourist areas. It was about a 30 min walk to the walls of the old city with safe footpath to walk along. The taxi or tuktuk was only about 100baht one way. We stayed 8 nights and could easily have stayed longer.
The room was a bit dark and only had one bedside light but this was a minor inconvenience. The location was close to the station but a good half hour walk from the centre of the city however we found that the red Song Thae taxis were cheap (40 baht per person) and convenient.
This is a lovely hotel, a quiet oasis of trees and waterfalls where you can relax from the fumes and the bussle of the city. The staff were very helpful both in reception and in the restaurant. Breakfast was good with a wide choice of either american, thai or continental. There are two swimming pools so you can find the one with most shade or sun, whatever is your preferance.
Only possible criticisms:a softer pillow and hotter shower water would have made this a rating of 10.
Good value for luxury service. Wonderful staff who are welcoming, efficient and really want you to be happy and comfortable. The two salt-water pools a real bonus after a hot day out and about. Cool, well equipped rooms cleaned daily. Fab breakfast and excellent other meals in the restaurant. Good hotel spa. All travel and tours happily arranged for you. Easy tuk-tuk ride from old City and lovely quiet location. Plenty of attractive nooks and crannies made comfortable for you to relax in. We'll be returning.
We had a great time..like this hotel so much
Sometimes no hot water (only lukewarm) when I needed one, so even tho there was coll big rock tub, it was not possible to use. The nice looking doors could not block out any noise so late mornings were very noisy in room. Massage at the premise had to be booked a day before to use...
Nice overall interior and ambiance. Nice breakfast.
Wifi not accessible in room but available in other parts of facility.
Nice and quiet and out of the way. Lovely room and easy access to city and surrounds. Friendly staff and value for money.
location it's quite far off everything phone didn't work in the room internet didn't work the whole night till the next morning breakfast can be better no window in the delux rooms
the staff design style trees pools bathtub bed
Only draw back was that the bed was too hard, but it's a Thai thing.
The location was perfect, not too far away from the busy old town. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast buffet was great. Our room was clean and the maid service excellent every day.
The restaurant had a very limit selection.
Great location good size & comfortable rooms, walkable distant to local restaurants & train station very quiet. The massage ladies are very professional.
Awesome quiet location with two pools. The staff were polite, friendly, and helpful. Our room was huge with a nice bath. The restaurant was great. About a 25 minute walk to town, but close enough that most tours will pick you up from the lobby.
The door 's difficult to push the key
Decore that's good hotel And the room very nice
Wifi very slow and sewerage smell outside rooms wasnt very good at times. If you have trouble with stairs there are a few around.
We stayed in the new section and loved it. The outdoor spa in our room was really very nice. Staff were lovely and looked after all our needs. The restuarant food was great and well priced. Bed was comfortable. Not to far from the city centre with transport across the lane way with Mr Lucky and his family. Loved our stay and would stay here again
We loved the place. Nothing negative comes to mind. It's good to be a bit out of town. Hotel provides oasis of rest after busy touristy day. It's excellent value for money.
We love staying at the Rainforest Luxury Boutique hotel (5 nights) which has friendly and helpful staff! We have a spacious room on the 2nd floor of the old building overlooking the swimming pool. The room has a lovely wooden front (authentic touch!) door, wooden furniture, a stone floor (we like!), a good bed/mattress (VIP after sightseeing days) and a spacious dressing room with a separate shower and toilet and bath! And complimentary WiFi. We love it. There is also a spa, but we did not try it - no time! The hotel is set in lush green garden a bit out of the city center, providing an oasis of peace and quiet. It connects to the main road by a little lane. There are plenty of truck taxis and TukTuks around. If not, the reception or the "taxi lady" across from the hotel can organize. Food is good, served in a wooden no-window restaurant. Latter for sake of fresh air. Excellent value for money. What else can I say? Come and try it out yourself and enjoy!!
Sewerage smell, slow wfi, steps for elderly people
Comfortable room in luxury boutique section, lovely staff, cheap washing of clothes, great food,100bht for 4 people into town, helpful with bookings.we really loved staying here
nice pool and ver nice big rooms. Loved the mini pool inside the room!
On internet it looks like it is in the forest but it is in town.
Typical thai hôtel
We loved the rooms & pool, the scenery was lovely.
The bed was like sleeping in a cave, hard and uncomfortable, they had clearly pushed two twin bedS together and dumped a double mattress on them. I'm pretty sure there was poo marks on the wall in the toilet. The bath was a square hole made from cement. The shower smelt like sewage. There were dead insects all over the floor in the bathroom. Our room was infront of slums and adjacent to a building site so a bit noisy!
The pools are nice - sea water pools. Great taxi driver outside called Mr. Lucky, he's really fab, always use him - 100 baht to the night bizarre. It was full of western men with thai women which is interesting to watch! The staff are lovvvellly!!!
Although designed fairly nicely, the rooms have seen some wear and tear. The atmosphere although like a rainforest as advertised, it felt a little cramped.
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room that we booked was unfortunately beside a construction site and the noise was a large nuisance; we asked for a new, quieter room and they obliged without any resistance.
swimming pool very cold rooms a bit dark bathroom need paiting
staff very good food good
