Some of the bugs were enormous! But again, standard for Thailand. We had a couple of lizards creep in during the night, and the beetles were huge! There were also quite a lot of ants but you can't expect anything else when you're staying in a hut made of bamboo next to the sea. The beach was quite dirty, a lot of rubbish, but you can find a nice spot if you look hard enough.
We stayed 3 nights in the bamboo hut next to the beach, it was clean, cleaned daily, toilet roll and towels and water supplied. The staff are reluctant to let you lift a finger which is nice, but I have noticed this is standard for the thai people, they are lovely. We had a private outdoor bathroom facility with a toilet, shower and sink which is all we needed. It was lovely in the evening to shower under the stars. Like anything, it all depends on the person as to how you perceive this place, it is very back to basic, but we had a nice double bed and mosquito net, table and stall, a fan, and a bathroom. As travellers we were very happy with the facilitates for the price we paid. Also there are numerous bars and resturauntsa very short walk away, and it is situated pretty much on the beach.
