Salad Buri Resort & Spa    

- We were upgraded to a better room as we were on our honeymoon. - The swimming pool - Proximity to the beach - Location - Food in the restaurant, although a but pricey - Fantastic and friendly staff

- The room we got upgraded to was a better class, however the smell from the bathroom drain was awful. It did go away after few days (perhaps it was not used for some time), but made a bad impression on us when we entered the room.

The location – the resort is almost on the beach is wonderful.

Due to the way the resort is built - a lot of the apartments are quite high up. Initially my apartment was right at the top of the hill (although brilliant view!). The next day I changed to one that was lower down – but still a bit of a climb. Having said that – the hotel does offer a golf buggy service up to your apartment – although it might stop after 10.30 pm.

Salad Buri is and always will be my first stop on every Thailand trip. This was the second year in a row I have stayed and Salad Buri and it was unbelivable. Perfect relaxation resort, amazing beach sunsets, friendly staff, comfortable rooms. Well recommended!

Restaurant could not handle large parties for dinner. Long wait for food not served together so most have finished before others started. Pushy selling of over priced xmas meal with bad service. Cliff face rooms no good for older people.

family friendly, nice pool and beach, even snorkeling was possible from our own beach.

a bit far, since you first have to get to bangkok and then to Samui and then a boat to Koh Pangan and taxi after that => a long trip with two kids.

Nice location, clean beach with shallow water and fine sandy beach. The room was lovely decorated, clean and with views directly to the beach and sea.

Staff was friendly, but when a problem appeared not very customer orientated. We received our laundry back and some T-Shrits and trousers were not clean. Accordingly I complained and the clothes were washed again. No apology, sorry or else from the reception manager. When we picked up the laundry the next day we were charged again.

The beach itself is all right, but not exceptional.

The location is remote. Unless you have a car or book a taxi, you willl have nothing to do but stay at the hotel. The hotel shuts down around 10 pm. That means room service, front desk, technical staff, restaurant. If you are hungry at night, you had better have a car to go to town. No taxi will drive to the hotel, because of a very steep slope. They drop you nearby to be picked up. Unpleasant in tropical rain. Everything is damp, including the bed sheets. Unpleasant moldy smell. Poor design of the facilities : the water boiler and the ac are on the same system, so no hot water unless you turn ac on. The staff was unresponsive. We had to call 6 times to get the hot water fixed. Our hot tub was broken. Breakneck stairs.

if you are looking to party this is not the place.. its a bit far from all pubs and clubs.

Salad Buri is a really nice hotel,located in a quite Beach where relax is guaranted. About the hotel the rooms are very clean, the staff is very friendly in particular the spa centre's staff where Naadiar is one of best masseur I have never meet in my life.

Really beautiful property. Highly recommended.

Enjoyed just feel maintenance of the around the resort let's the place down, rooms are stunning beach is perfect with a little paint and tender care it would be paradise. Food is not that great, breakfast buffet could of been a little fresher the fruit and dishes needed some attention, but with the option of having eggs cooked for you, it's possible to still get to eat at your included breakfast

Location, location, location! The hotel is located on the beautiful beach of Haad Salad. We liked it very much because the beach is tranquil. There are not to many hotels and some good bars, restaurants on the beach. The hotel has a big and nice pool and good views on the sea. Breakfast was good and its a nice place to sit near the beach. The food at the restaurant was good and prices reasonnable, but be sure to try the restaurant of Salad Hut to. They have some great food and staff was very friendly. The room we had was a premier room, that was very nice with a good view. I think the normal rooms are a bit too small.

There where some comments earlier about the staffs clothes and the services. Well its true they don't have the real services as they have in some 4 star hotels, but staff where very friendly and authentic. So I was more at ease with those kind of staff then I was at some other 4 star hotels. If you really want touristic 4 star luxury beach vacation please go to Ko Samui. Then Ko Phanghan can keep some of its charm! Then we can go back in some years and enjoy it again. New pool furniture would be a good, it needs a replacement. For people having a room up the hill it can be a long and steep walk.

I was very disappointed by the service at the hotel. I found the staff to be rude and unfriendly. My stay here made me realize how important service is. ALso the hotel contacted us in advance if we needed pickup from the Samui airport. They quoted us 50% more than what would pay off the street for transportation. I specifically asked them if there was a cheaper way of getting to them and they said no.

Service was horrible. Staff made me feel as though I should service them. Would not recommend to other travelers. There were many other little quaint places near by that would have been nice to stay at.

Beautiful location, calm and peaceful resort, stunning view from room balcony. The maids made fantastic installations of towels combined in elephants and swans on our bed, decorating them with fragipani flowers =) The sea was quite shallow (maybe due to moon phase or just summer season) but beautiful, good opportunities for snorkelling, though for that kind of activity I'd recommend visiting Mae Haad which is next to Haad Salad. Breakfast was fine and delicious, the cooks fried omlet and panckakes just in front of you on demand, so you can always get a fresh one. Evening bbq red snapper was very delicious.

. Do not consider using motorbike to get to the hotel from the main road unless you are a profi! Even if you are experienced driver, it's really challenging. Oh, and if you are, get a powerful bike (like Honda pcx)... 1. The main reason we chose this hotel was jacuzzi outside the room - but it was unplugged and the plug was germetized ... I suppose they have had big troubles with water pouring down the mountain right into the bungalows and destroying the electricity network during some heavy rain... Nevertheless, the jacuzzi in fact turned out to be just a bath. It was fine to spend evenings in it, but we were really disappounted that there were no bubbles =( 2. The pool was not enlighted at night - maybe same problems as in #1. 3. Part of outside decorative pool+waterfall where lotus flowers was abadoned and made the place look strange for such good hotel, though it's obvious that if it was working it would have been a charming view.

The cleaners at the resort were amazing, they were friendly and made our very messy room look spotless every day, a few mornings we wanted to sleep in so they dropped fresh towels and bottle water at our door for us. The location was really lovely for people looking to stay in the one area, however if venturing around the island it isn't ideal. The buffet breakfast was fantastic with staff making your eggs on the spot for you. The pool was lovely and beach right in front of the resort.

It was really far away from the main areas of the island (40 min minumum via taxis which are expensive) The area around the resort also was more expensive than the rest of the island. The resort provided no pick up or drop off services to and from the ferry while a lot of cheaper resorts do. We had to leave the resort early in the morning and the staff were rude about us having to check out early, no one helped with bags despite there being a lot of stairs. Reception staff weren't very friendly or accomodating.

The staff is very kind, always helpfull and they know what service means. The barbecue on the beach serves excellent fishes and the atmosphere is great. All rooms have a great view on the bay. To recommand!

We had a familyroom located on the sidehill, two seperate bedrooms with kingsize beds and your own bathroom, a balcony with jacuzi and great view over the pool and ocean... The room was beatiful furnished and clean. The pool was also very nice and build in three different stages.

During check inn you have to pay your room in advance instead of paying when you check out......The staff is not aware about "Service with a smile" like we experienced in other hotels with this pricelevel. The staff at the restaurant speaks hardly english. For every drink or bite you order you have to pay immediately instead of paying at check out. The decoration in the restaurant/bar is outdated and poor...not what you expect for this pricelevel....also poolbeds are outdated and look 20 yrs old...little choice and average quality food in breakfast aswell dinner....staff is dressed poorly and no atmosphere at the beach and restaurant during the evening....no entertainment and at 10:30 everthing is shut so you have to go further down the beach to look for nice food and entertainment to have a good time.

The staff were friendly, helpful and spoke good English. The layout and decor of the hotel was beautiful. The hotel's pool is literally on the beach which is gorgeous, quiet and clean. The breakfast was delicious and the hotel's dinner served at tables on the beach was a great experience. I could not complain about anything and would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Salad Buri Resort was wonderful. We stayed in the room with the Jacuzzi on the balcony and absolutely loved it, so much so that we booked a few extra nights. The rooms are well decorated, the view is spectacular and the staff are friendly. There were a lot of stairs which helped us burn off the guilt from all the food we ate. It is a great place for couples.

The driveway was so steep that we couldn't get our scooter up it with two people, but it really wasn't an issue. A little bit of exercise never harmed anyone!

Absolutly nothing!

At the begining they almost forget us at the pier notwithstanding the fact that I call them several times before. My husbend run for their car for the hotel. Actually even now I don't know exectly it's ok or not. When I be back home I must check it in my bank. For the more it was descusting number named Premier! The wordrop was in the toilet room. Smell is awfull. Aircondition were noising like a tractor , so it was inpossible to sleep at all! Room were very small. Beach.. No beach..no water.. Durty and discusting. And in the dinner they brought the check more than we eat! Normally we never check our built but at that time did it and was very suprised! Oo! And massage! Like just touching u a child. It was nothing! So on next day we left this hotel like another couple did earlier. Go to Nice beach bungalo on Ao Thong Nai Pan Yai. We loose our money because in Salad buri they didn't want to return it, but in Nice bech it was like in paradise!
