The location was beautiful, the pool and restaurant area open right on to the beach with gorgeous views of Koh Phangan. We did the speedboat tour of Angthong one day and were dropped back to the hotel right on the beach! The restaurant evening menu is a little overpriced compared to local restaurants which you find if you go for a little walk outside the hotel but the food was great, all facilities were amazing and the staff were wonderful, very friendly, welcoming and attentive. We decided to rent a car to tour the whole island one day rather than motos and the staff were very helpful in organising that for us as well as various other day trips. I would definitely recommend Samui Buri to other travellers!

The only downside for me personally was the mosquitos which of course cannot be helped. I react quite badly to mosquito bites and the medication i brought wasn't helping but the staff recommended a local chemist who prescribed me some good antibacterial tablets and other creams and repellents. The staff also light citronella incense in the rooms in the mornings and again in the afternoons with the turn down service just in case some come inside so that was a nice reassuring touch. Needless to say my fiance didn't get bitten once!

Staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and clean. While there were plenty of guests staying here the hotel felt quiet and we rarely saw others except around the pool\beach, although the beach and pool were not too busy which was nice. While a reasonably big hotel, it felt small, exclusive and personal, we really didn't want to leave and almost extended our holiday by a week. I will be returning here. If you cannot be without WiFi it is accessible in all areas including the pool and beach, with a usually good reliable connection. This hotel is set back quite a distance from the main road in a nice and peaceful location and has its own section of beach. From the hotel you can access the quiet sandy beach and walk a considerable distance.

I like the beach and how they treat you in the hotel also they serve you quickly

I dont like the villas because the doors need to be checked up where many little creatures can get through the door

we stayed in a pool villa. the children really enjoyed themselves in the villa pool and the big pool. The rooms are good , very comfortable. we really enjoyed our stay

It dosnt have markets close by but they have shuttle service to main markets so it is not a big deal.

The only bad thing was that, just like everywhere in Thailand, there were little ants in the bathroom. But not as much as everywhere else.

The location is good for a quiet rest, with a few good restaurants within walking distance right down the little road - the area is peaceful and charming, yet is just a short taxi ride to busier Mae Nam. The beach is beautiful, as is the pool. Staff was excellent and attentive. The grounds are lovely, and very well-kept. The layout of the resort is nice. The rooms were huge and nicely decorated. We had a swim-out room, and it was very nice. I would definitely return to this hotel, without a second thought. *Be sure to check out the evening market on Thursday nights in Mae Nam. Excellent food, some local entertainment, and in addition to the usual Thai souvenirs, there were some nice hand-crafted items, soaps, and artwork.

Bathrooms are in need of an upgrade/re-do. They do not match the quality of the bedrooms or of the rest of the resort. We got a very good deal on the rate, otherwise I might have been slightly annoyed at the state of the bathroom. But all in all, it was a good value and lovely stay.

The management had paid attention to previous comments on the lack of free Wi-Fi, and on this visit it was provided. Also the bar/pool attendance was greatly improved by the new staffing, who could not do enough to make your stay a pleasure. We will certainly return again next May.

Very little to provide any negative comments, as all facilities were to a high standard.

Samuri Buri is the best hotel we have stayed at. Great staff always smiling and helpful - special thanks to receptionists Ping Pong, Joyce and Ou. Great pool with bar area only 40 meters from a magnificent beach. Lovely breakfast with great variety. Many nice restaurents close to the hotel - be sure to visit the restaurant (Johns Garden) GREAT place. Ferry transport to Koh Phangan, only 5 minutes from the hotel. We are looking forward to our next stay at Samuri Buri..

The Villa was very nice and the grounds within the resort were great. The staff were attentive most of the time. The pool and beach were very relaxing.

The gym's air conditioning didn't work and either did half of the machines. I was very disappointed with the hotel's taxi prices. They charged 300-400 baht more than the going rate (we used only once). You would think that given the amount of money you are already paying to stay there that they would offer competitive or subsidised rates to residents. However if you walk 5 mins up the road, there are many taxi depots that are cheaper. The food and drink prices at the hotel are expensive. Eat out when possible! I also felt that perhaps the staff's grasp of English could be improved, particularly in the restaurant. Quite often got the wrong drinks, wrong food or a blank look when trying to order off the menu.

We had an amazing time at the Samui Buri, the rooms were fabulous. Great place for relaxing, beautiful pool. Staff are great. The food is gorgeous, breakfast is wonderful looking out onto the beach. The beach is a quite stretch- pure relaxation! The 'Welcome Massage' is just up the beach- go! I would definately recommend a visit. Our visit to the Samui Buri was wonderful - one to remember!

The employess are very helpfull and nice and speak well English! The Villas are very nice and look like the photos indicate. The mattress is amazing, I slept like a baby! Fast and good room service. All in all the food is very good at the hotel - they have different style of buffets during the week, it's about 800-1000 Baht and all you can eat. Nice private beach with an area where you can book different massages

There is only one taxi driver at the hotel, so you have to wait most of the time The breakfast is only until 09:00. The Air-Condition is right above the bed and blows its air directly at your head - If you're not used to that, like most Europeans, you'll have to watch out for a cold (we turned it off during the night, but it gets hot ;) )

Big room, private pool, great location, nice food at restaurant.

Mosquitos in the room. Remedied with a mosquito coil outside the door, free from reception.
