Location & beauty of the surrounding area.
Hard beds. Although most places we stayed in Thailand had very hard beds. Our night in Bancock at the Arun Residence Hotel, the beds were softer.
The location on the west side or otherwise known as the 'good side' of Railay is definately worth the few extra dollars if you can afford it. A quick one minute walk brings you to a picture perfect tropical paradise of beach and rocky cliffs. We stayed 18 nights at Sand Sea but didn't use their facilities ie massage, tours because we found them much cheaper around the east side.
Only 20% of the staff were helpful, let alone friendly. We are not 'picky' people, but breakfast was a major let-down. The selections were sub-standard and if you're looking for bacon, don't bother because being a muslim run resort they do not have it. Although, there was 'steamed ham' that looked like Spam if you dared to try it. Instead we gave up our free breakfast and went elsewhere most mornings which was disappointing considering we paid $230 AUD a night. The upside is that although the professionalism of the staff and lack of breakfast choices were poor, the location made up for it.
Location, great room And nice pool
Mandatory new years gala dinner was not worth it
Location and views are fantastic
When I say the staff in the kitchen could take some additional cooking classes, I believe most guests would agree
Had a nice clean bungalow almoust with the pool. 70 meters to the beach. AC good, bungalow good, staff was good, breakfast good but no bacon. Mutch for the money. Nice place.
Amazing place and a paradise on earth, smiling and good employees
There is some mosquito, so recommend bring mosquito repellent
the beach, activities, food, pools, much better than the opposite beach. everything was really nice
Convenient location, Aonang beach to Railay Beach, this hotel is right front of the long tail boat dropping place. convenient corporate facilities with Mini markets, tour desk and nice restaurant, food is good, and it run 9 hrs everyday.
We booked with high season rate and be arranged to a very noise building, which has industrial fan running from 6:30am until 11pm, the hamming sound louder in the hotel room than the balcony, breakfast is very basic, not much choices, there are 2 pools, we stayed 4nights, the pool has never cleaned, you can see the oil frames floating in the pool water.
Nice pools, decent lunch menu.
Too many boats on the beach. Too noisy with their engines revving all day. Breakfast was poor.
Very beautiful beach Room in 2-floor building was new and stylish
Hotel managed by muslims - no alcohol Check-out at 11, not 12 as usual Transfer from airport is quite expensive - 1500 bat but it is difficult to organise it itself Beach is beautiful but area around is not so great and there are few things to do as you can go somewhere only by boat
Very luxurious rooms, tasteful decorated and well equipped.
This resort is huge, our room was closer to the eastern side of the island than to the western side. (We wanted to stay on the western side for the sunset.) Railay beach was way overcrowded, almost like a central station. I hope Thai government soon takes action, otherwise its not worth going here anymore. The staff in the hotel had only limited knowledge of English.
Staff a bit slow and moody. No alcohol served in the resort.
New rooms are high quality, very comfortable and spacious.
Dreadful coffee at breakfast, lack of wardrobe space
The room was lovely, we stayed in the newer building and it was great. The location, right on the beach!
Some of the restaurant staff were sooo grumpy, had no patience and really didn't know what 'service with a smile' is, which is so unusual for Thailand. Granted it wasn't all of them, but in particular there was one woman who was the main culprit.
Good location at the beach. Room in building was nice and modern. Quiet place. Good food.
The bungalow had basic standard. The bed was too hard. The wi-fi was not always available in the bungalow.
The location is in Paradise! The Staff is awesome, both pools are great and the Room is very clean. Although the prices at the resort restaurant are a bit expensive they are compensated by the quality of the food. The breakfast is very complete. We had a sandwich outside the resort that caused us intestinal problems and we had to go to the reception at 2am and 4am and they gave us some medicine. We had an early check out and they prepared for us 3 boxes with food for our breakfast. To leave to Krabi we had to take a long-tail boat on the East side of Railay beach and they gave us a ride in a golf kart.
Beautiful location right on Railay West, the better beach of the 2 in Railay. 2 lovely swimming pools, nice resort.
Staff in the hotel restaurant were awful! Completely ignored us on a few separate occasions so we avoided the restaurant.
The hotel is located in a very nice place, few meters from an amazing beach. There are two awesome swimming pools at the hotel.
Staff is a little bit unpolite. The hotel does not sell alcoholic beverages.
Boat access, could let customer know you have to walk out to the boat ( in the water with your luggage same when you get to the resort). A floating pier would be nice.
Location is great. Reception and restaurant overlooking beach. Beds really comfortable. Cleaning and garden staff really friendly.
Rooms are bland and a bit plastic looking. TV and bathrooms need updating. Reception manager excellent but other staff far less engaging. Restaurant hit and miss and very inflated prices. Very poor wifi unless in bungalow close to reception. Villas are also crammed in one next to the other. Resort lacks any character.
The magnificent location
The bungalow was extremely run down
Location Food SPA Easy to move around the island.
Restaurant is really bad quality of foods
The beach turns into a mud flat during low tide, very disappointing.Even though the scenery is beautiful most people probably come to Thailand for the beaches and this is the worst beach I have seen
