Room a little small but great ...
If you are planning a pleasant trip to Chiangmai, this hotel will totally ruin your plan. - Tiny rooms (pay attention, it's not just small, it's TINY) : you can't even turn around in the bathroom! What the most horrible thing is - its very noisy the whole night, there's a huge water pumper outside and keeps making noises as soon as anyone in the hotel uses water, you can image how disaster it would be. And also, the swimming pool is TINY. Hotel staffs are not as friendly as other hotels in Chiangmai should be. Anyway, this hotel really ruin my Chiangmai holiday. Onething - it will charge you the credit card processing fee.
WARNING: Do not EVER consider Sathu Boutique for your stay. Despite the good photos on their website and on booking.com the hotel is nothing like we expected. The room smelled stale and humid like the windows hadn`t been opened in months. The room was so small that the bed was the only thing that fit in there. It was so tight we couldn`t even open our suitcases. It was a huge disappointment given that the photos show spacious rooms. The bathroom was a real piece of work with the shower head right above the toilet bowl. I can`t imagine how one would take a shower in this bathroom without falling into the toilet bowl. Water is splashing everywhere, making it slippery and dangerous, not to mention disgusting. Another example of how Sathu boutique is promoting itself wrongly is that this all in one bathroom is not displayed anywhere in their advertising. The pool appears beautiful and serene in all the online photos but in real life it is nothing more than a kiddy pool. The clever photographer made great use of a wide angle lense. Last but not least the staff. After seeing the room we decided to go speak with the manager with the hope of at least getting an upgrade or a discount. When we stated our issues about the room and bathroom but also about the fact that we didn’t get what we thought we were paying for she shut down completely, decided to ignore us and keep going on with her `work`and as we sat there trying to keep the conversation open and settle and compromise she called the police on us. We felt pretty safe facing the police given that the website and pictures on booking.com are not accurate but decided to call booking.com and try to arrange things with them as a third part.Booking.com called the manager who with us didn’t seem to have any problem speaking in english but told booking.com she didn’t speak english and needed a thai speaker. Booking.com provided her with such a service and advised us to leave immediately without waiting for the police.
Atmosphere outside the room, small-sized resort, good location
Small room, small bed, small tv screen (it's computer screen), no separate shower area, small bathroom, noise from above and outside, small breakfast
