Score from 150 reviews Wonderful
The proximity to night market
Rooms were a little old and stained.
The lounge facilities
The staff service
For the price we should have got breakfast
friendly, helpful and responsive staff, especially at the club floor. good spa and gym area - jacuzzi, steam room and sauna are great after a hot day travelling. great new facilities, everything works perfectly. room service/maid flawless (working around "don't disturb" schedule, twice daily room maintenance appreciated) and fresh fruit in room daily a nice touch. afternoon tea in the club floor nice. overall excellent hotel - I recommend it
location on busy road well-connected but not perfect (on the river would have been nice). occasionally head-hair on bed / in bath (perhaps room service can wear some form of head-dress)
Staff are very nice friendly and helpful
Excellent upkeep Pay for the Horizon Club - worth the privacy, comfort and abundant supply of F&B with wonderful service from the staff there! Loved the room bed which was firm yet comfortable
Too many flying insects at the pool area
We only stayed in Chiang main for 2 nights but staying at this hotel definitely made our time there even better! The staff were great!
Horizon club is very good.
luxurious profissional high standard great breakfast amazing room and view near to the night bazar and some other attractions
Do not get me wrong, the Shangri-La had a lot of good facilities. But, breakfast is not included in the rate, so we chose to upgrade to the Horizon Club for 1200 baht per day. Then we also got access to the Horizon Lounge. Western cusine got down prioritized in breakfast. They lacked bacon, the egg-queue was very long, they lacked grilled tomatoes and healthy options (except for porridge). The Horizon Lounge was full of noisy playing children, so this is no place to relax. The room and area was nice and clean. The floor staff (cleaning ladies, pool staff og service staff) was always really helpfull and kind (especially those in the Horizon Lounge).
The hotell is used by a lot of school classes (read: A LOT of (american) teenangers), so there was a lot of noise, and pushing every single floor on the elevator. The reception decided to take 22 000 baht from my card without my presence or approval (I got a text from my bank about this), and I just do not understand why they did not let me know and decided to do this without my knowledge.
Spa- expensive and unfriendly staff.
This hotel is amazing. It's so beautiful it takes you breath away. The surrounding area is not the best, at least when we went there was a lot of construction outside of it, but you could not hear a thing, you could just see it outside the window. We stayed here for a part of our honeymoon and they went above and beyond preparing the room for the day when we arrived. Everything was stunning, covered in roses, they drew a bath again with roses, bottles of champagne, truffles and a basket filled with exotic fruits. Their breakfast - included in the room price is by far the best we had in Thailand. Their executive lounge is also wonderful. You literally don't have to eat dinner, you can just go up there have a bunch of drinks and appetizers and call it dinner.
Room service and the Chinese restaurant in the hotel are not good. We ordered pizza for room service - we were tired of Thai food after being there for over 3 weeks, and they made it with ketchup... so don't order room service.
The pool, the room, the staff.. Everything
Upsold to club floor with daily breakfast. Very good lounge with view, good food, wine and staffs.
Staff very professional and helpful. Beautiful pool. Loved Horizon Club Happy Hour! Felt very well looked after. Room lovely and very clean. Gorgeous beds. Excellent location being close to night markets. Can't wait to return.
Stuff very good and helpful
Restaurant was amazingly delicious. Pool was great. Night bazaar js just 5mins walk from hotel.
The basin was blocked and we informed the staff but it was never fixed. Gym was poor for weightlifting athletes.
Very friendly staffs. Great hotel with nice location.
Very clean and excellent facility
Slow staff but very polite. They need to improve English communication to avoid any conflicts with clients.
The view facing the pool is out of the world. Very Nice staff. I asked to have the pool as private after work hours. they did help and I had it for 30 mins. I asked for honeymoon amenities, I got em!!
The furniture is kinda old.
