The view from the balcony of our room is very nice. The design of the hotel, particularly those facilities along the beach, the restaurant and swimming pool. The breakfast tastes good, although not much choice. The latest shuttle bus in the evening to the beach town is one-way service, have to take taxi back.

The staff used to serve us chilled honey ice tea in chilled galsses. After a hot trip outside everytime at the reception. The road approaching to the hotel was not carpeted. They should invest a little and ge that road fixed. Specially when you are riding a scooter it will help.

The private infinity pool was a treat. We were upgraded was great. When I booked on booking.com three weeks prior (cancellation rate) it clearly stated that the hotel dues to be paid in local currency. While checking in I gave my credit card details stating that this was a security and payment will be made in local currency in cash which the hotel agreed. But while checking out on 26th March'2013 the hotel charged on the card the day I checked in ie the 22nd March'13 for all 4 days of my stay. Firstly why did they charge before I used the facility when I had booked a cancellation rate. Secondly when I offered cash on the 25th March'13 they refused to accept. The thai bahts were a waste and only after a lot of discussion did they reverse the entry. I am unable to understand the same and wonder if there is some understanding between booking.com and silavadee which I am unaware of.

The views were stunnig from the Sunset Rooms and the beds were very comfortable.Last night upgrade to pool villa as the resort had very low occpancy. The location was quite remote that faced to the north East meaning the pool and the beach lost the sun early afternoon. The setting is built on a hillside with very steep pathways to the pool, beach and villa locations, vey unsuitable for the more mature visitor. Upgrade could have been offered earlier due to low occupancy.

Staff was very friendly. Big, nice and comfortable rooms. At the beach was a lot of waste. Staff should clean the beach regularly. We did not like the idea of a compulsory New Year's Eve party.

The view is amazing! Uphill location allows a perfect view of the bay. Rooms are spacious and modern. Breakfast buffet is very rich with additional a-la-carte options. Hotel provides very few shuttles to chaweng and lamai, therefore you need to often take taxis to get out of the hotel. There is only one dining option in the hotel, which is not very inviting with the isolated feeling. Going into water is very rocky. Hot tub in the balcony is one of the first hot tubs - it's definitely not worth having at all!

due to a power cut on the island, our reservation did not come through. Although it was not the fault of the hotel, they did just everything to remedy this error in a most professional way. One of the best hotels I have ever staid in. The villa is spacious, very nicely decorated, good wifi, fantastic view, extremely comfortable. The breakfast is delicious, good choice and the view from the terrace, hmmm :) The beach is large enough, very private and like a little paradise.

The beach and the infinity pool is very pretty but the resort is not as new as it deemed to be. A little inconvenient to travel to town and it's shuttle service is only twice a day. We asked for a change to a villa where all 4 of us could stay together in one room. They asked for a big sum to top up for the upgrade. After seeing the villa, we decided to stay put with 2 rooms but they then later offer it to us for free and insisting we move to the villa!

Nice facilities, the whole thing is well thought and ecofriendly. The elevator music in the Spa. Coud be replaced by more authentic Thai classical music or Indian classical music which would be equally relaxing.

Amazing atmosphere and very interesting decor with wood stone immersed in tropical gardens & pools. Private quite beach and beautiful scenic infinity pool. Service accurate and elegant and exquisite cuisine. Best suited for couples seeking romantic getaway. Villas are an absolute luxurious pearl. If you can afford it, don't miss it. Hotel staff are kind and smiling all times. Cost of food in hotel is more than reasonable and atmosphere at terrace deck based bar & restaurant beat any place on the island. Cool evening breeze on the terrace with a drink in your hand - priceless. Hundreds of butterflies in the air. We were sad to leave. Hotel was undergoing (much needed) renovation during our stay - other guests knew about it in advance and said they received special rate due to that. It should have been noted prior to our online booking. However we received an upgrade to a villa as compensation which turned to be a truly unique experiences. The transportation costs to/from hotel are far above what we expected. Instead of compensating for the remote solitude with more rapid or cost effective shuttles the hotel provides minimal shuttle services and costly complimentary transportation. Last - recommend adding a tap to wash sand from feet on ramp from beach - we got all wet trying to get the sand off our ankles.

Nice private beach, generally met the expectations of a 5 star resort with good quality amenities, beach bag etc A few items were not available on the breakfast menu, which is undeserving of the price paid

We spent 7 nights at Silavadee for our Honeymoon after 7 nights at the Novotel in Patong. We found The Silavadee superior, the staff spoke very good English and looked after us. The meals were excellent, the view of the ocean and Lamai was awesome day and night. Hard to fault without being picky, maybe the private beach had litter at the back of it that needs cleaning up

Very private, the hotel staff amazing, very secluded & relaxing! Don't come here if you just want the night life as it is a bit far from Chaweng & Lamai but this place is breathtaking I highly recommend it for couples & newly weds, we are definitely coming back!! Only thing I had an emergency & needed to call home & the hotel phone did not allow me to do this. Lucky the hotel staff where so helpfull & they helped me out.

A top class resort that was exceptional in many ways. If seclusion is what you are after then this is the perfect place for you. The resort is close by to the main tourist areas of Chaweng and Lamai but far enough away from the main road to ensure privacy. The staff were excellent and extremely helpful. Compared to local taxis the cost for the resort owned travel options was quite expensive. Hiring a motorbike from the resort was the best option to travel around the island at a minimal of cost, if yo are game to negotiate the local traffic.
