Sirilanna Hotel    

The staff were very warm and friendly, the room clean and comfortable. Excellent and healthy breakfast. Great location in the centre of Chiang Mai, at most ten minutes from the airport.

When checking in they led me to the room before the prior occupants had moved out, which was a surprise! Water takes at least two minutes to warm up. Small mosquito problem if the door or windows are opened as the hotel has only 3 floors.

Location is very good.

Staff were not helpful. We asked about places we could visit and the concierge was trying to force us to do things we didn't want.

Super location. Large rooms.

Quality of service was very average. Lots of detail was lacking. The staff seemed generally disinterested in the guests. On the final day they encouraged an early check out with some story about the traffic problem in getting to the airport. The journey actually took twelve minutes even though the hotel wanted us to allow two hours. If they wanted us to vacate early then they should have been honest. I will not stay at the Sirilanna again.

Alice and I both really enjoyed our 4 night stay at Sirilanna hotel.The staff are great.Decor is beautiful in the lanna style.The hotel is small and within the old walled area of Chiang Mai so it really is walking distance to most locations, or a short Tuk Tuk ride. It always felt very safe and we loved the pool after a busy days adventuring .Sirilana is close to lots of great authentic thai foodstops and the insect museum around the corner is a must visit.

Staff was friendly and helpful. The room is huge, nicely designed and clean. The bed is very comfortable and shower+jacuzzi were super! Breakfast is big and of good quality (don't be shy, if you are still hungry, ask for more and they will serve you again!). The location is great, right in the centre. It hotel is a bit expensive for Thailand standards, but to get the same level of comfort and luxury in Europe you'll need to pay 3 or 4 times more:excellent quality/price ratio!

It was all great. If I really have to say something "bad", the laundry service is too overpriced...50 Meters away from the hotel there is a laundry where you can get your clothes washed for 30 THB/kg, whilst in the hotel is kind of 60-70 thb per piece of clothing.

Everything was great: the staff, the room, the swimming pool, the location (in the old town)

The Sirilanna is expensive but worth it we thought. The salt water pool is a real treat, the location is quiet but central and the beds are very comfortable!! Also the on site tour booking agent Sophia is very helpful for picking the best things to do and see!!

I think the hotel is a little overpriced since there are so many less expensive options, however we enjoyed staying in such an upscale hotel after a night or two in a much cheaper guesthouse.

Loved design of building and furnishings. Very pretty! Swimming pool area is lovely. Breakfast very good. Staff great. Great location!

Not a good sleep because drapes did not block out city light. Really need to get black out drapes. Perfect for me except that.

recommendations for tours was not a value add - seemed uninformed and we did not get great value for the tour we booked thru the hotel. Could be loud...also unyeilding mosquitos which we have not suffered thru elsewhere in Thailand at night

It is an excellent boutique hotel in a fantastic location. They try to make the customer anytime. Few lights which were broken on our arrival had been fixed the morning after. Asked for an extension cable because no plug in next to the desk and got it the morning after.

They charge on our credit card all the booking when I preferred to pay by cash. They didn't confirm the email requesting the pick up at the airport... Maybe because it is free? They should have proper cortins to make darker the room, after the sunrise you can not sleep more because the Sun is in front of your eyes.

Great hotel in the Lanna style with very large rooms, large bath and walk in rain shower. Very good breakfast, all freshly prepared to order. Very good location in the old city.

I would just suggest; a better breakfast option and training for staff on how to make good espresso coffees

Typical Thai quality - efficient but warm. Excellent room and features. Good breakfast.

Hall light shines into room. Tv is high quality but cable/satellite was poor quality and very limited channel selection.

The location is good as it is far enough from the main drag to eliminate the noise during the day and night and moly a short taxi ride to the restaurants and night market areas. Rooms are quite big but make sure that you are on an upper floor with a balcony. Breakfast was good and cooked to order - not a warmed up buffet.

We had booked a business double room but when we arrived, we were offered the "honeymoon suite" as a free upgrade. This was on the ground floor with its own inside lap pool but had more of a bordello feel to it than a nuptials suite.

The designing of the room is amazing. it is the best.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right at the heart of the old town, within walking distance of many sights and the night market. It also has a nice pool to chill out after a hot day. The room was spatious and well appointed, although the over the top top decoration might be not to everybody's likes.

Hotel has big room and great decorations. Besides, its location is very convenient to go to the Tha Pae Gate and coffee shop. Staffs are kind and helpful.

As it was the peak season, I initially booked 2 nights at this hotel, but it notified me later that they could only provide 1 night accomodation, which caused a lot troubles. It is hotel's responsible to check the room occupy status at the very beginning.

The location is perfect. The rooms are beautifully decorated and some of them are very large. The beds are extremely comfortable and the bathrooms, tub, shower are huge!

I left for a side trip and when I returned, I was put into a smaller room with a mildew smell. I had to complain three times about the smell and was told that the hotel was booked so I couldn't move. Finally, I was moved to a room in the new part of the hotel that did not smell.

Sirilanna is an oasis in the middle of Chaing Mai.The rooms are superb and the staff are great.It is a genuine family run boutique type hotel.Breakfast is cooked to order which is a nice touch.We were upgraded to a pool room which was very luxurious and full of character.The outside pool was lovely as well but it is next to a busy road so maybe not a place to lounge around all day.Treat yourself and stay here,it was one of our better all round hotel experiences anywhere, really unique.

Airconditioning maybe a little too loud, but Im being really picky here.

I liked the location as it was in the old city and easy to walk or hop on a motorbike. The room was large & clean, Wi-Fi fast.

It was on a corner so expect traffic noise. Staff were not very happy possibly down to management. Breakfast was not worth the $156 per night accommodation fee. No lift and we were on the 3rd floor.

A real feature of the Sirilanna is its very helpful and friendly staff, especially Sophia - a real gem to find. The hotel is small and cozy, with real cooked to order breakfasts instead of a warmed up buffet. The room was large, exceptionally well furnished and comfortable with a huge bathroom and spa. Pool was shaded and inviting. Location was quiet and peaceful, and a few minutes walk to so many of the attractions within the old city of Chiang Mai, and 15-20 minutes walk to the night market/wawaros market (if not distracted by temples on the way) and only a little longer to riverside. A very, very pleasant place to spend a relaxing holiday.

We spent six days at Sirilanna, for our honeymoon, and I must say that it was one of the most beautiful boutique hotels we've ever seen. The room was huge, and the bathroom also. The design of the room and the massive wood furniture made everything very special. We also had a large jacuzzy, which was a great plus. Everything was very clean, there was that "clean" feeling everywhere. In fact, most of the guests took off their shoes before entering the room, and so did we. As for the staff, what can I say. I think I've never met people so polite, helpful and warm. Oh, and they always had a smile on their faces. The location is great, in the old city center, very close to the main attractions of Chiang Mai. When we left to the train station, because the hotel shuttles were already booked for the airport, the hotel paid a taxi for us. They really take care of the guests. Sirilanna was really fabulous, and great value for money.
